Chapter 29 - Rage Over One-Self

Ling Tian walked a long way before casting an invisibility spell on himself and drawing his blade as he flew into the sky.

"Those medicinal herbs can be created in a strengthening pill to boost a person's strength and spirit ... it seems that someone has an illness or their life may be coming to an end." Ling Tian was reflecting on the medicinal plants they were looking for.

He didn't have any of those medicinal plants in his space ring or his little world, so he had no choice but to see if he could find them as he searched the surroundings for some mysterious place.

While he was flying, with another sword he was killing all the demonic beasts that were in his way. Thus, he could prevent some of those demon beasts from going in the direction of those two boys.

Flying on his sword, he plunged into his thoughts.

Ling Tian had to find a way back to the Immortal World, but, more importantly, he had to lift the Heavenly Seal that confined his cultivation.

It was not that he had not thought that he could live quietly for a time in this lower plane as a mere mortal while he sought a way back, but, he had to return for the safety of his disciples.

They were his only family, so he did not want to lose them.

His family had been killed by an old man who was a cultivator when he was just over 10 years old, although he later learned from his own parents when they were helping him escape that they were not his real family, that they had found him unconscious and then could not remember anything about his past. The only thing he brought with him when he was unconscious was a locket, it was like a family heirloom.

Later, when he entered the path of cultivation and gained some knowledge, he knew that the locket he had was an artifact of cultivation, so he assumed that his family should be cultivators.

Years later, with more knowledge, because the artifact was an object with immortal classification, he was sure that its origin should be from the Immortal World. So he looked for a way to ascend to the Immortal World.

When he managed to ascend to the Immortal World, he sought his family, or some clue as to where he came from while he continued to cultivate for a higher cultivation.

He only found some records that there was a family with the same last name, but at that time, that family along with others had disappeared in a battle against demonic beasts several years ago.

Ling Tian was alone in the Immortal World for a long time, while he was looking for resources to be able to cultivate quickly and at the same time, he was running for his life when some cultivators more powerful than him, wanted to kill him for different reasons.

Once he managed to become a Hegemon in the Immortal World, he found some orphaned children who became his disciples. In time, he raised them and watched them grow up, so he could not help but see them as his own children. They were all one family.

He was very concerned about them. Even though he had made an immortal mansion hidden as a personal refuge for them, he was still worried.

What if those who were related to those cursed Han Lushuo and Zhin Huizhen wanted to seek out his disciples to harm them?

Thinking of those two bastards, Ling Tian clenched his fist tightly, managing to bleed a little while saying with clenched teeth: "I hope you won't try anything with my disciples ... once I return to the Immortal World, if I find out that you did something to them, I will refine your souls and torture you for thousands of years so that you will live in agony and suffering!"

Obviously, he was going to kill them with his own hands. He wasn't going to let this go without getting his revenge.

On his way to becoming a powerful being, Ling Tian had seen and felt the coldness, cruelty, evil, and indifference in the immortal world, so he could not help but become cold-blooded while hardly cultivating towards the higher realms.

The Immortal World forced him into the abyss many times, so he had to endure all that alone. Since he was very young, his Karma had been something bad, so he encountered many misfortunes on his way. But, still, he came through. He did not let himself be defeated.

It was only when he had become a hegemon, a true power of the Immortal World, he was able to change his being, his sensitivity and have human emotions again. All this was thanks to those little ones, his disciples. He was able to have a family, thus the family affection and love made him leave his coldness and indifference and become a loving person with his loved ones. Although, he was still indifferent to other people he didn't know or didn't care about.

Ling Tian's eyes were filled with coldness, hatred and anger.

"Feng Heng ... although I was always on guard against you, I really couldn't see your plot at all ... I blame myself for being so stupid to accept you back then!"

He was scolding himself, too.

How could he have made a fatal mistake in trusting him and even turning him into an unofficial disciple?

He knew that most people in the immortal world were cruel and evil. They were always looking out for their own benefit. Therefore, he had adopted small children because he could educate them and make them become good people. Their hearts would be pure, so Ling Tian had no problem teaching them and being their Master.

But, his arrogant confidence forced him to be between the sword and the wall.

He regretted that he had to leave his disciples alone. They must think he really should be dead...

"Haaa... I hope you're all right and you're not in any danger. I'll be back, so you have to be all right!" Ling Tian further renewed his determination to return to the Immortal World.

At least he was sure that one of his disciples was safe. She was with him at the moment of being dragged to the depths of the abyss of Samsara Bridge, therefore he was able to mobilize space-time by launching a special technique and thus save her by sending her to the immortal mansion which was everyone's safe haven. Since only one person could be teleported, he did not hesitate for a second and saved her.

"I must find a way to lift this Heavenly Seal or increase my cultivation quickly, so that I can tear up the void to ascend to the Immortal World ... or at least, to the World of Cultivation ..."

Mentioning the world of cultivation, Ling Tian asked himself, his mouth slightly tilted upwards: "Speaking of the world of cultivation ... how are those brats doing? I've been looking for a long time for news about whether any of them had ascended to the immortal world, but there hasn't been any ascension since I've been in the immortal world..."

He had already flown for almost two hours, covering a vast space in the forest looking for some formation of teleportation, when suddenly he heard.

"Aaaargh!"

Ling Tian heard a faint scream, drawing him out of his thoughts.

He released his spiritual sense and quickly flew to the place where he had heard it.
