My guests have finally arrived, and I wait for them in the throne room. I feel a sense of nervousness flood through me as I pace in front of my throne. Iris sat on her throne beside mine and sighs.
"Lucifer, dear, relax. Everything will be fine," she said.
"How do you know that? What if they don't like me or think I'm crazy," I said in a panicking tone.
"Trust me; they'll like you. You're starting to sound like one who's meeting their mate's parents. Now settle down and sit still. They're right outside the door," she said in a motherly tone as she pulls me down to my throne.
I took a deep breath and fixed myself, so I sat in a more presentable way on my throne. The guards opened the doors, and Sebastian walks in with two very handsome men that sent my heart on a rampage in my chest. My heart broke a little when I saw them holding hands. They've already mated.
"Master Lucifer, I present to you Elder Derek and Alpha Zephyr of the Filtiran Pack," Sebastian says after he bows to me.
I saw Iris stiffen beside me. Her eyes fixated on the tall, lean guy whose hair was as blonde as hers. His golden hazel eyes, which reminded me much of honey, widen when he saw her. I was going to stand up when the blondie spoke up, startling us all by breaking the silence in the room.
"Mom?" he says as his voice cracks.
Iris gasped before standing up with shaky legs. I knew she was a mother but never knew who the child was. When my men found her, she was childless, unless the child was with the father-her mate. But that was years ago. How would a mere child recognize his own mother after not seeing her all his life?
"Z-Zephyr?" she asks in a hushed whispered tone that made my soul shatter for her pain.
He nods and runs up to her, giving her the biggest hug any child would give their mother. Tears were shed as the two reunited. The red-head, whom I'm guessing is Derek, slowly walks up to them before getting dragged into the hug. I cleared my throat, feeling a bit left out and out of place.
"My apologies Lucifer. This is my son Zephyr and his mate Derek," Iris says as she wipes away her remaining tears. "Boys, this is Lucifer Morningstar. I've been under his care all these years."
"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Morningstar," Derek says as he shakes my hand before pulling away with a gasp.
A shock of pleasure ran through me during the swift handshake that just occurred. I frowned as the feeling went away as swift as it came. Zephyr shook my hand soon afterward, and the same thing occurred. Although, instead of pulling away, he held my hand tighter and didn't let go. His eyes changed color. One glowed a shimmery gold color while the other turned a bright violet color. A shiver went down my back as I heard a merge of three grumbled voices was heard as he spoke.
"Mate."
