The monstrous dragon grew enormous as it elevated his long slender streamline body. It had four tiny limbs that barely support the snake-like body with emerald green scales on clinging to it like a second skin and at the base a vermilion-red tail lurks as a poisonous spear. The mouth was unlike anything seen. On a long cylindrical body, it was a mask of satan with a blood-red snakes tongue lulling out. It terrified Hazel and Reshep to the roots making their blood run cold and their heart pound inside their throat. Cold sweat runs their forehead as they gulp.
"This was not... In the plan...", stammered Hazel with bare fright.
"How can there be a dragon-like this in the library!", questioned Reshep rather to himself than to Hazel. The dragon whose eyes were slimly smeared on its ogre-masked face, swirls its elongated tongue to use it as a whip, to slap on the trespassers. But they managed to dodge at the right moment making the streamline tongue slash brutally on the tiled floor. The whipping of tongue against the floor was loud enough to make Reshep bath in goosebumps.
"I shall eliminate anyone entering the great library as the guardian!", it spat out in demonic shrill squall.
"Do you have any weapon?", inquired in a yell Hazel now standing far away from Reshep by having dodged in a random direction when the tongue whipped upon them.
"I have a dagger!", he yelled back.
"Throw it!", she requested motioning with her hand to pass the dagger to her.
"But I am not sure it will hit the eye if I threw it on the monster", Reshep stated getting totally wrong of Hazel's intention. She slapped her forehead as the dragon with a screech similar to agonising immolation of two old woman charged at Reshep. Even with tiny feet and sharply thick claws, it was rapidly crossing distance. Hazel waiting no further juncture ran to Reshep and pulled him by the wrist,
"Retreat!", he begged her.
"No, we are so close! Let us hide somewhere", she retorted the request to which instantly Reshep slapped her wrist off him and screamed at her face with all his might, "If we survive we can get thousands of book like that one!", he pointed at the approaching dragon then realised suddenly his economic status, "Okay not thousand but at least a dozen!"
"It is too late", she pushed her chest throwing him on the floor as the dragon approached near them. There was no signal of being afraid inside her like a merry spirit has taken over her soul,
"Oi demon, come here!", she waved her hands for the creature to distract and chase after as her, leaving Reshep. She ran in a random direction and she sprinted with all her might but the dragon was too timely to outrun her and smash its tail on her. Almost smashing her to the ground if she had not lunged back on time. Her feet flapped not to fall on the scaly tail of the dragon. She stepped back somehow and sighted the tail that has destructed the tiles to pieces with its might which made Hazel almost leapt a breath.
"If only I had a weapon...", she thought and right after there a familiar yelling caught her ear. She flipped her head to glimpse a silhouette forming behind the head of the dragon until it was no more a shadow but a brave Reshep with his dagger clutched in both his hand. His limbs were curled back and he was about to thrust the dagger on dragons head. As she witnesses him, there hitched a heavy headache that shrunk her eyes. A flash erupted and vagued her vision of a battlefield ruining red in blood and the garnet sky blazing with flames and fumes. There was the familiar lady with inky night skin, bloodshot third eye and garland of skulls. She lunges like Reshep but with a screech of wailing mother of dragon that could blast the ear of listener packed with anger and vengeance. She held a sword in one hand and other is tightly packed with gilded ornaments till the elbow. Her blood-red tongue is lurking out as her legs are curled back alongside the hand holding sword, SHE charges the sword forward and bifurcates a DRAGON!
Then suddenly Hazel is pushed back to reality out of the vague vision and there she viewed the dagger stuck in the dragons head,
"How do I remove it!", cried Reshep to tug the dagger that did to no damage but got embedded in the scales of the creature. The dragon gave a thunderous squall and shook it's head to throw away Reshep from its head who is only holding onto the beast by clutching his dagger tightly. The frustrated dragon shook its head down towards Hazel and like a ball Reshep came rolling at her. Before she has time to dodge he clashed on her, knocking her with him as farther as the stairs of the next floor.
"Ouch!", groaned Hazel as she was crunched beneath the bull,
"Sorry!", Reshep was on her butt unhurt and as his eyes lay on the dagger in his hand, his happiness marry the seventh heaven,
"I got the dagger!", he blissfully showed it to Hazel who is damn lying against the floor dead.
"Good now get your heavy ass off me", she gritted and Reshep panicky stood up. The dragon came charging at them with fierce yells. Hazel quickly snatched the dagger in anger from Reshep who was shocked by her quickness. Then she ran up the stairs whereafter looking at the menacing dragon, Reshep too followed her lead. The stairs led to a floor above but the problem with that was, it was built just as a giant balcony, revealing the floor beneath where they are threatened by the dragon. Still, they climbed up,
"I hope it won't leap up here", cried Hazel who was quickly followed by Reshep,
"And I hope he can't climb stairs"
The dragon gave them menacing looks as it was unfortunately impossible for its tiny limbs to climb the steep stairs. Yet, it yelled in frustration at them even louder hoping to appal them. Once up, Reshep glanced down at the dragon through the railing who resembles like a giant caterpillar from where he stood. Although short of breath, Hazel threw the dagger away and began strolling her eyes among the books placed on the bookshelves, jumping from desk to desk. As Reshep kept an eye on the dragon, she could not but only scratch her head for the location of that one book from millions placed here. An unforeseen calm hang over her and she is stunned with half flung jaw. Then Hazel turns to the left and jumps on a desk, before pulling out a book rather thick for her palm. It was heavy and rugged with dust. She blew the dust off which rained on the floor like snow and then placed that book on a wooden desk,
"BOOK OF JUDGEMENT" she read and Reshep glimpsed at her realising she found the book. He quickly tiptoed to her and was relaxed as the dragon could not approach them and they were close to the window that was their once their. entrance
Hazel in a rush began turning the thick pages, not caring for anything but the last page of that book. Reshep joined her as they saw a menacing goddess which resembled more to demons than to gods,
"I wonder who made her a goddess?", Reshep asked as he chuckled at the idea of her being a deity but he was answered by Hazel,
"Look, she is the demon slayer", she pointed to the words of the book beneath the imagery, ripped by the sickle of the time. Above the fearsome goddess were written in gilded words which surprisingly is the only thing to not be eaten by dust in this book, "WRATH GODDESS!", she glared the goddess whose gleaming red eyes and a thick blood-stained sword out to slay the head of a demon. Her waist tied with ripped bloody hands of deceased and her neck is garnished by the Garland of Skulls as she rides a giant fierce bull burning fire-red.
Just then, the dragon leapt behind them, wherewith it's great strength, the hair of Hazel swirled in shock. Before she could turn back, like a slapping hand on a bug, it's malicious tail charged on her, knocking away Reshep and wrecking the wooden desk that initiated the eruption of immense dust on the air. The tail had completely chopped down and Reshep watched as the book is beside his head but nowhere sight of Hazel. He fears of Hazel being juiced by the thick tail of the beast but just as the dust vanishes, there she stood.
Reshep is left jaw dropped as he witnessed something in hell he would have not reckoned. It was not the fact that Hazel had successfully blocked the dragon's tail only the exertion of two fingers. It was not her menacing eyes that reflected dark anger but what left him breathless was the arrival on her forehead, of a THIRD EYE!
