Chapter 13 - Searching for a Teacher

Being finally the day, he had been waiting for to search for a good teacher, Xol was so excited as rised from his bed. Richter and Kingo were already awake, he noted that they liked to wake up very early and start the day with some workout. Kingo had already finished and taken a bath. As he exited the bathroom with his hakama he stretched as Richter entered the bathroom for a shower.

"I´ll head out first out, see you in the afternoon" Xol gestured as he headed out.

He liked to bath in the night, so after fixing a little his hair and changing clothes, he was ready to see the teacher's requirements they had set for taking his attunement class.

Walking a little he soon found a group of students gathering in front of a senior. He was explaining the ups and downs for the various attunements and the spells they could learn in the classes.

"Ice and wood are the best elements if you want to control the flow of battlefield with the high crowd control they offer." The senior explained.

Xol got close as it wouldn´t be bad to know what each attunement could offer before going to look at the class requirements. After 30 minutes the senior finished up his explanation.

"Seeing most of you are new student don't forget to check your ranking in your generation. Having a good ranking could help you make a better impression for the teacher, making it easier to enter their classes as disciples." The senior said as he turned around and leaved the area.

Soon the group disbanded, some students would gather in smaller groups to share notes, getting to know each other, but most went their separate ways. Xol even spotted Henley walking with what Xol thought was a group of nobles as their clothes were like Henley´s.

'Wait where were the teachers' classrooms and offices' Xol thought, he had forgotten to ask this point as with his excitement in the past days and the sparring tournament they did.

'I hope Marcel is still in the room.' Xol started to head back to the room.

"Xol why did you return; don't tell me you already took note of the requirements." Richter said raising an eyebrow seeing him return.

"Actually, I got to hear a senior explaining what each attunement offers, I got hooked to his explanation of ice and nature, they be good with my Mana Chains and I did like the feel of controlling the battlefield from the fight with the senior so I got really interested. After that I remember I never really asked Marcel where the teachers' classrooms are." Xol explained with a troubled face.

"That's true! We never did ask that, I´m so glad big brother Jun is taking me with the principal, or I would also have get lost." Richter exclaimed as he let out breath as he remembers Jun was guiding him.

"Did Marcel already left?" Xol asked

"Yeah, Kingo went with him as he wants the fire attunement as his first element and Marcel is currently in that class, so he guided him." Richter nodded.

"I see." Xol sighed.

"Maybe I should try asking a senior, I already figure most of the senior have robes matching the class their taking so their easier to find." Xol tilting his head and crossing his arms

"Or I could point you in the way little Xol" a voice said.

"Big brother Jun!" Xol smiled when he turned and saw Jun.

"Hehe, how you guys being?" Jun asked with a smile.

"Good" both answered.

"Not bad, come let me guide you to the classrooms area." Jun gestured to follow him

"So how guys getting along in the dormitory?" Jun asked as he guided them.

"We're getting along pretty good, yesterday we had a sparring tournament. We also promised to make a party for the upcoming competition with the Martial Academy" Xol answered with a smile.

"Not bad, how was the ranking in the tournament and what kind of promise you made?" Jun asked with a smile seeing Xol was getting along with his new roommates.

"I was first, Kingo second, Xol third, and Marcel last. Also, Xol´s spar with Kingo for the second place was a close a one." Richter puffing his chest and then glancing at Xol.

"Oh, you actually beat a level 30 with much experience than you Richter, and both of you beat your senior, not bad." Jun said with a surprised face.

"Un" they nodded.

"The promise Is that everyone needs to get into attunement class before the competition with Martial Academy and then all will form a party to participate in the competition. Before then and after we go dungeon exploring with you today, we aren´t forming a party." Xol explained.

"Oh, that´s a very big promise." Jun said with a surprised face.

Arriving near the classroom area Jun stopped and signaled for them to come.

"How about we also look at the ranking of your generation based on your admission." Jun gestured to a board.

"Now where would you guy would be" Jun glanced at the board.

"Big brother Jun we´re both here." Richter said and pointed to their names with a puffed chest. Jun was a really shocked hearing Richter but let it slide.

[1.- Darren Heartstall

2.- Xol

3.- Asteria Fyre

4.- Pearl Heartstall

5.- Robin Heartstall

6.- Amon von Klein

7.- Richter von Braun

8.- Mason Hale

9.- Roy von Luminos

10.- Henley von Maxmour]

"Oh, you both got in the top 10. Xol you even got the second place not bad." Jun rubbed Xol hair with a smile. Xol was smiling at the praise.

"Now then let's go." Jun gestured both kids.

Arriving near the room Xol could see a sign.

"Okay Xol the classrooms for the other classes are in the opposite side of the sign with the ranking. I wanted for you to know where the principal office is apart from the requirements for lightning, so I didn't say it then." Jun said with a smile.

"Un, thanks big brother Jun." Xol said with a smile and ran over in the direction Jun said.

"You know, I was surprised you also started calling me big brother Jun."

"Oh that, Xol told us how you started taking care of him and saved from being robbed, so all of us in the dormitory started calling you big brother. We are all were moved at how good person you are." Richter said with a smile.

"Is that so… Xol loves telling that story so it shouldn't be a surprise." Jun nodded.

"But there another part to that story that is a little disturbing. You´re going to hear it as it's the reason I wanted to talk with the principal from the start. Also, you must promise me you are telling this to the others in your dormitory but no matter what you can´t tell it to Xol" Jun said with a solemn look.

"Okay, I will promise below the heavens, I´m not going to tell Xol the other part of the story and will pass it only to the rest of our roommates" Richter made a vow seeing the solemn look Jun had.

"Thank you." Jun said with relief.

"Also, that promise you all made I´m afraid it isn´t going bear fruit this year, I don't think Xol is going to managed it." Jun said with a sad smile

"What do you mean big brother Jun, I know Xol is going to make it seeing how hard he works." Richter said with confused face up to Jun.

"I know Xol better than anyone, he is going to accomplish the dream I failed. Enter Izuriel class."

"Wait, how do you know he going to try to enter Izuriel class? He could try any other class; he even was interested in ice or nature before you arrived."

"Two reason, I previously said that the strictest requirement a teacher has, the better teacher he is. Xol trust me so much so he is going to follow this advice, also he wants a good teacher that would help him learn strong magic, so he can explore dungeons to his heart content. Second once he enters Izuriel classroom and more specifically his office, he wouldn´t want to ever to exit that place, it´s filled with dungeon related things as Izuriel is a dungeon creator. Teacher Izuriel has the strictest requirements so he is bound to enter that classroom." Jun explained with his arms crossed shaking his head.

"YOU FU—"

"Wait let me finish, though I admit I may have manipulated him a little, I never told him he can only take Izuriel class. Xol INT to MP is the worst I ever seen, being under Izuriel wing would be highly beneficial for him as Izuriel is the most knowledgeable when it come to mana and would help Xol efficiency in the short run and could help him increase his conversion rate in the long run." Jun explained all his reasoning.

"All right"—Richter exhaled a breath of air— "At least you also seeing for him and not using him as a tool to achieve a failed dream you couldn´t achieve." Richter said calming himself.

"It´s not only my dream, I would say it's the dream of many students, but we all have failed meeting his standard."

"Richter, please if Xol ever feel depressed for the promise or any thing I´m entrusting to you and the rest of roommates he will having in the academy. You´re must likely graduate first than him so please pass this task onto someone trustworthy before graduating." Jun said as he bowed toward Richter.

"Alright, it´s good to know my character reading skill didn´t fail and you´re really a good person." Richter said punching his chest.

"I Richter von Braun, swear under the heavens to follow this plead from big brother Jun, if I fail may the heavens strike me down." Richter made an even more solemn vow looking up with his eyes closed.

"Thanks, lets enter and introduce you to the principal." Jun said with relief and a smile.

While this was happening Xol had managed to get a glimpse of every class requirements, currently shadow, fire and lightning were the ones with the strictest requirements.

'This classroom would be the last one.'

'These are the strictest definitely, he wants High mana sensibility and top 10 in the generation. None of the other class asked this, plus he only accepts disciples and since he doesn´t state the number of tests I don't think they be a few like the other classes.' Xol thought crossing his arms and tilting his head.

'Let's enter, according to Jun´s advice he would be the best teacher.' Xol nodded and started entering the classroom.
