I woke up by the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear. The clock read 7:05. I get up, change into my clothes and grab my camera.I first walk into the living room to go into the kitchen I then see a note on the fridge. It was from my parents. It said, Hey Manu. We went out to the wedding. We'll be right back before you know it. Good luck with the video. As I finished reading the note, I threw it inside the trash can and made something to eat. As I finished my breakfast, I grabbed my camera and bag. I go downstairs and out of the lobby. I live in a tall apartment. It has six floors with a total of 12 rooms. I waited outside where I was waiting on my childhood friend. Since I first moved here, when I was like around five or four, she was always late. I hear the door open and then I see her . "What took you so long, Sierra?" I asked. "Well, unlike you," she says out of breath. "I live on the fifth floor. And I forgot to set my alarm." We both laughed. "Come on. We got a few hours until we needed to go to the fire department." I said, We both started to walk out onto the street. Me and Sierra were the only ones who didn't have school. The reason was because our teacher , Mr.Fieldman, wanted us to record how firemen work on a daily basis. Once we found a nice coffee shop, we went inside and ordered our coffee.
Once we grabbed our coffee, we walked a few blocks to the park. We were in the middle of fall so it was a little cold. We sat by the little playground where the little kids just started to play. I was checking on my camera to see if it was still functional. But, I notice that Sierra stopped practicing her lines for asking questions to the fire department chief. She was looking at the children playing around the playground and swinging by the swing sets. "What's wrong, Sierra?" I asked. She got out of her trance and looked at me. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking." She said, "Thinking about what?" "About the future." "What about it?" "It's not a big deal." She said, "Come on," I said. "You can tell me." She sighs and looks at me, "Fine. I was just thinking about the future." "What about the future?" "Well, I always wonder what lies ahead of us once we get older. Like, what will we do tomorrow or next week or in the next ten years." "But, what makes you think about those things?" "I don't know. I guess because of how time is passing by fast." "Well, we've been friends for at least twelve or eleven years now." "I know. It's kinda crazy." "Yeah, it is." "But, I hope someday." "Someday what?" She looks at her watch and looks at me "Well, let's head out now. It's almost noon." She said ignoring my question. I didn't notice it was almost six, since we just went to get coffee and hung out around the park. "Alright, let's go." I said, I wonder what she means "Someday"?
The fire department was far from where we were. But after about half an hour, we got to the fire department. We went inside and sat in the waiting room. They then called us in and we started the interview. I was operating the camera and Sierra was asking the questions to the chief of the fire department. She asked simple questions like "What do you firemen do during the day?" or "What do firemen do while there's no emergency." But when she asked him that, he said "When isn't there an emergency?" We continued the interview, after the interview we decided to walk around the fire department and talk to other firemen. Once we were in the cafeteria, we met two guys who were going with us once there was an emergency. "This is Patrick and Alex. They well be going with you once there's something that's catching on fire." He said, He then left and we kept looking around and Interviewed both Patrick and Alex. Once we were done with that, we found out that there was an inside basketball court. They invited us to play with them and after a few rounds, the alarm went off.
"Alex and Patrick, report to the truck station." Said the loud speaker. They both ran up the poles that lead down stairs where they were changing into their uniform. We both looked at each other. "The camera won't fit, we got to take the stairs." I said, We both ran downstairs and caught up with Alex and Patrick getting onto the fire truck. We got inside and drove to the location. "So what's up with those necklaces?''asked Alex. We both looked at our necklaces? I remember that when my parents gave the necklaces to us, they both had necklaces that match with one another. They gave it to me and Sierra when we were just playing around and told us separately, "This necklace will make you feel special towards each other." My dad handed me a half black cross and my mom gave Sierra the other half white cross. During that time, I didn't know what they meant. But, once we got older. We understood. Over time I did like her. But, I was always afraid that she would turn me down. Even if I went out with her, how would our relationship go? We talk strangely between us? And if we broke what would be the result. Would we stop talking or stop seeing each other? I just do not want to risk losing her. "Well, we-" but before I could say anything, Sierra introups me, "His grandparents give it to us when we were kids." She said, Alex replied "Oh, that's nice." After a while, we finially got there. The trip was short and once we got out, we both noticed we were on our street in our department. "Well, this is convenient." I said, ``Why? You kids live here?" Patrick asked. "Yeah, I wonder what they called us?" I asked. "We don't know yet but we'll find out." Alex said. We went to the side of the truck and I was already filming. There was a police car beside us and it looked like the police beat us here. "What all this?" Asked Sierra. "This is some of the equipment we need. According to the caller, there's an old lady trapped inside her department." Said Patrick. They grabbed a large sledge hammer, a first aid kit, and a box of tools. Patrick held the first aid kit and tools while Alex was holding on to the sledge hammer.
We went inside and found all our neighbors down in the lobby. "What's the situation?" Asked Alex. Everybody started talking about an elderly woman screaming and making weird noises to Alex and Patrick, while Sierra was asking Mrs. Messer what really was happening. "What's the comoshion down here?" asked someone upstairs. It was a short police officer. "You two come with me, we've got work to do." He said, I was right behind him while he wasn't looking and bumped into me. "What the hell is this? Why is there a TV crew doing this?" He asked. "Oh, they are with us and they are not a TV crew." Said Patrick. He explained why we were with them. "Okay, but when we say turn off the camera, they turn off the camera." "Alright." I lied. "So what's the situation?" asked Alex. "There's an old lady up on the fifth floor," Said the officer. "The neighbors said the old fart started to scream bloody mary and started to hear banging. According to one of the neighbors, she says that she's weird, doesn't communicate with other people. She doesn't have any friends or family." We started to head to the fifth floor where the other police officer and one of our neighbors. He was also a doctor and currently our landlord. "She's in here." He said, "Okay, sir," said the officer with us. "Now, go downstairs and leave the rest to us with this okay." He started to go downstairs and we started to record again. "Stand back." Said Patrick. Sierra then started to explain like a reporter what was going on. But, before she could finish, Alex kicked the door and broke the lock. "Oh shit, that scared me." She said, We all started to walk inside the department where it seemed that noises were coming from the end of the hallway.
Once we reached the end of the hallway, we saw the old lady in the middle of the room. It seemed that she was still in her gown, which meant that she never left her home. "Mrs.Sachi, where to help you." Said the short officer. She backed away from us and looked at the floor. Her hair was wrinkled and her dress was painted with blood. Where did that blood come from? I thought. She was bleeding and had scratches around her face. The only thing she was producing blood was from her mouth. I pointed the camera at her and turned on my light. Once I turned that on, she jumped in terror and screamed. "Turn that off!!" They all said. "Turn off that camera." Said the skinny officer. "Alright, it's off." I said, I pointed my camera at them as good as possible so I could capture what was going to happen. "Looks like she's hurt," Said the short officer. He pulled up his communicator. "This is 451. We need an ambulance here at my location." But, as he turned around, the old lady jumped and bit his neck. "Agh!!" He screamed. Alex, Patrick, and the other officer started to pull both the small officer and the old lady apart. I turned on my light so they could see what they were doing. As they pull her away from his neck, we see his skin being peeled by the old woman's teeth. His neck started to spill out blood and went to his uniform. Patrick pined the old lady into the wall and grabbed her. "Stay with her Patrick!!" Alex yelled. Both the officer and Alex started to pick up the officer. "Move out the way!!" Yelled the officer. "We got to take him down stairs." As we hurried to go downstairs. The lights suddenly turned off and it was pure dark. "What the hell happened to the lights?!?!" Yelled the Officer. "The light's!" Yelled Alex. "Someone turn on the lights!!" Just as they kept screaming to turn on the lights, they were turned on again. As we got to the bottom of the steps, some of the neighbors were baging on the metal door. "What the hell is going on!!" Alex yelled. "They barracked the door from the outside." Said the landlord. "They said we're not allowed to leave the building." "This man is injured!! We need to take him to a hospital!!" Yelled the officer. "Put him over here." He said, They both put the injured officer by the stairs. "I need something to stop the blood." Said the landlord. "Are you a doctor?" I asked. "I'm an assistant." He said, I gave him my coat as a towel and he used it to stop the bleeding. As everybody was freaking out, the microphone was on. "Everybody remains calm." It yelled. "The health department has asked us to seal off the building. Please remain calm, as we are trying to get you out of there as fast as possible. Wait for further instructions from the officers and firemen inside. Thank you." "Fuck!!" Yelled Alex as he threw his helmet down to the ground. The skinny officer went into the corner and we all crammed up on him. "This is 451, 451. I have my partner-" But he was cut off from his radio. "We know the situation. But we can't do anything about it for now. Stay in the lobby and wait for further instructions." "Fuck!!" He yelled. "Get that camera out of my face!!" That pissed me off. "Don't touch the camera!" I yelled. He was stunned. Either that or he was surprised that a seventeen year old yelled at him. "Why the hell not!?" He yelled back. I put my camera down for a second. It was still rolling. "We need to inform you what's going on here! We have to show what they are doing to us!!" I said, Everybody started yelling, hell was about to break loose until Alex broke up the mob. "Shut up!!" He yelled. "We have to take this man out of here!!" We all stopped arguing with the officer. "What's behind this door?" He asked. He pointed at a garage door which connected to another building. But it was a little building with only one floor. "It's a textile shop." Said the landlord. "How do you open this?" He asked. "Wait!!" Yelled Mr.Messer holding her daughter. "I just received word from my husband. He says that there are over a thousand of cops outside and he carries my daughter's medicine." Just then, a flying body fell face first into the ground. "Patrick!!" Yelled Alex. Both the officer and the landlord grabbed Alex. "Don't move him! He still has a pulse." Said the landlord. "Come on." Said the officer. He grabs Alex's jacket and makes him run upstairs. "I'll follow them. You stay here." I said to Sierra.
I started to walk upstairs to the creepy apartment. It was a different feeling when I started to walk up. It felt weird. How everything was going on. It's like a movie except… it's real. Once I reached the floor of the old lady's apartment I went inside. I looked around the hallway and saw it was crepier than before. I continued to walk to the end of the hallway. Until, I encountered a girl. "AHHH!!!" She screamed. I backed up where she fell first face flat into the ground. Just then, right behind me were the officer and Alex. "What the hell are you doing here kid?" asked Alex. "I was just following you guys. Guess that I was going in the wrong direction." I said, The officer gave me a suspicious look. "What happened to her?" He asked. "I don't know, she just started screaming and running towards me." I said, I went up to her. "Wait!" yelled the officer. But I was already near her. I turned her around and recognized her straight away. It was Sophia. A girl who lived with the old lady after her parents had died. I checked her pulse and felt nothing. "She's dead." I said, Just then, the old woman who attacked the short police officer was at the end of the hallway. I ran back with my camera behind the officer and Alex. "Miss please. Cooperate with us." He said, pulling his gun out. His hand was shaking and the old lady was just staring at him like a dog. She screams and runs towards us. "No!" he yells, firing his weapon. With three shots she was down. She fell and landed to the side of the wall. "I- I- I didn't-" He stuttered. "It's alright. It's not your fault." Alex said to him. The officer looks at me still recording the whole thing. He runs up to me. "Take that camera out of my face!" Alex pulls him away and they both walk downstairs. "Damn." I whispered. I couldn't believe I witnessed that. I looked through the recording and saw something behind the old lady. It was too dark to tell. But, it looks like an old woman from a distance. She was tall and had long arms that reached her knees without bending down. When the lady was turning her head, it looked like the tall lady was telling her something. "What the hell is going on?" I asked myself.
As I walked back down stairs, I could hear the inside garage door opening. I turned back on my camera to capture what was going on. By the looks of it they were opening the door and the landlord went up ahead. "Everybody stay in the lobby with the injured, we're going to check the back room." Said Alex. "Wait," Said the officer pushing me into the side. "We have strict orders to stay in the lobby." He looks back at him. "These men are dying. We need to get them out of here. Fuck orders." he said. Me, Sierra, and three other residents followed Alex to the back and found the landlord banging on the door. The back doors were barracked with plastic wraps and yellow tapes. "What the hell!!" I yelled. "What the hell is going on?!" Yelled the officer behind us. Then the man from before came back on. "Everybody stands back. This is not a drill. Please remain calm and do not try to escape the building. This is a B.N.V protocol. Please stand back and remain calm. Thank you." "What the hell is a B.N.V protocol?" Asked Sierra to the officer. He brushed her off. "What the hell is a B.N.V?" She asked Alex this time. "It's a protocol that stands for Biological. Nuclear. Viruses." That got the four residents in fear. "But, don't worry. This happens very often. But, we have to get out of here." "Wait a second!" Yelled Mr.Gomez. "There's something else too. Our phones aren't working. Neither the tvs or radios. We're completely isolated from the outside world." "And my daughter's fever has gotten higher." Said Mrs. Messer. "What's wrong with her?" asked the landlord. "She has tonsillitis." She said, He put his hand on Jenny's forehead and checked her temperature. "She's burning up. We need to get out of here." "Well from here we can't get out. So, please everybody, go back to the lobby." Said the officer. "Wait," said the landlord. There's a balcony that leads to another building." "Okay, let's go." Said Alex. "Wait a second?!" Yelled the officer.
We ran back to the lobby where his box was. Inside there's a box of keys for each room of the building. "Is it locked?" Alex asked. "Yes," Said the landlord. "That room is only for meetings like managing the rent or problems of the building. Believe me there were plenty of meetings about the building I assure you." As we started running up to the fourth floor. "What happened to the old lady?" The landlord asked. "We needed to put her down." Alex said. "There was another person too." "Who was it?" He asked. "I don't know. It was a girl." "I think it was that Japanese girl. Why didn't she come down with you?" "She's dead." Said Alex. "What?" By this point we were to the floor we needed to be. "Open the door." I said, He started to go through his keys and unlocked the door. We started to run down the little hallway and went up to the balcony which the landlord was talking about. But we were too late. "What the hell!!" Yelled Alex. There were a bunch of people in swat uniforms with K-9's. They started to point their guns at us. "Please stand back." Said One of the swat members. Then, a plastic paper roll came down and covered the whole door and windows. "Don't please!!" Yelled Sierra. Just then, the officer from before just came into the scene. "What are you guys doing here?" He demanded. Alex started to stare at him. "You knew." He said, "Knew what?" "You knew that they were going to do this. Caging us in here like hamsters." The officer looked out the window. "What the hell is all this?" He asked. "Why don't you tell us that?" Said Alex. "I don't know. I don't know." He said, He looked in my direction and gave me a killer stare. "What did I tell you? Turn that damn camera off!!" He went by inches from touching the camera, and the landlord grabbed him. "Stop! That won't help at all. We need to inform them what's happening here." "No, what all you need to do is to go back into the fucking lobby." "And do what?" I asked. "Wait and see that this was a huge mistake? No, there is something happening here and they are not telling us anything." "Shut up!!" He yelled. He pulled his gun out and pointed it at me. "Get back to the fucking lobby!!" He yelled. "Okay. Okay. We're going. Just put the gun down. Please." Said Alex. Just then, the man from the back of the textil shop. "Everybody remains calm. Do not try to leave the building. Repeat: DO NOT TRY TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. Thank you." The officer turns around and starts to put his gun back into his holster. "Can you please go back into the lobby." He said in a calm voice. "Alright." I said, The three grownups went up ahead of us. "I need to get back into my department. I have stitches that might stop the bleeding." Said the Landlord. "Alright." Said Alex. I was the last person in the room. I look at my arm. "Come on Manu, I don't want you to be left behind." Said Sierra. I look out the window again. Is this related to you, Dr.Nicholas.
*Acho* "Are you still having that flu?" Asked my mother. "Yeah." "This is the third time this week. Have you been eating something?" "No, mama." Then, a man in a black coat came downstairs. "Is there something wrong?" He asked. "Oh, It's nothing doctor. It's my son Manu." said my mother. "He's been having a fever all week." "Maybe I can help. I have some medicine that can help your boy." "Alright, I have some papers to fill out. Manu, be nice to the doctor, Ok?" "Yes, mom." We both started to walk upstairs. Once we reached the top floor, the doctor started to go through his keys and opened his door. "Come in, little one." I walked in first and waited for him to come in. "Sit in that chair." He said, pointing at the chair in the middle of his living room. He goes through his cabinet and takes out a needle. "Have you been bleeding or have been seeing things?" He asked. "Yeah, I see big dark things in my room at night." "I see. Do you see any of them right now?" "No." He grabs a rubber band and puts it on my arm. "This shot will make you a lot better." He said, "What's your name?" "Manu." "How old are you, Manu?" "Five." "Five? You're very young, Manu." Just as he was saying that he put down the needle through my skin and pushed down. Once the tube was empty, he cleaned my arm. "You feel better now?" He asked. "I think so." "I'll take you back to your mother. But, don't tell your mom what I asked of you. Are we clear?" "Yes." "Good. I'll check on you once a day. Alright?" "Ok." After that day, he always checked on me. He always checked if I had a fever or a cold. But, I felt fine since and haven't been sick since. Whenever he visits he always invites me to his house and I always see things that a scientist would need for something like a bomb or something. After eight years of visiting me. One day, he stopped visiting me. I always knocked on his door to check if he was still there. I quit after two years.
Present
Me and Sierra sat down on one of the tables at the back where the textile shop was. I kept thinking that this whole situation is related to Dr.Nicholas. He was the only doctor who had the right equipment that could cause this. "Are you ok?" Asked Sierra. "Yeah, I'm fine. What's up?" "What were you thinking about?" "Nothing. Just thinking about things." "Happy thoughts?" "Happy thoughts." I look at my watch. It was two in the morning. "I'm going to check with the landlord." I picked up my camera and started to walk up to the room. The room was filled with rolls of clothes. I see the landlord treating both the officer and Patrick. He then started to inject them with a shot. "Hey, doc. Can I talk with you for a bit?" "Sure." He said, I pick up the camera and point it at him. I started to roll the camera. "So, what do you think caused the old lady to attack these two?" I asked. "Well, from what I can tell," He said. "Mrs. Sachi bit the officer's skin right off with her teeth and I noticed that his blood started to change." I looked at the officer where he got bit and noticed that too. "It may be something she had. Like a disease or virus. But, I have never seen anything like this. It looks like Mrs.Sachi had a potential outburst which caused her to attack both the officer and the fireman." "So what you're saying is that the woman had rabies like a dog?" I asked "Rabies no. A human can't just simply get rabies from just an animal and go berserk. I don't even know if that's possible." "Ok, what about Patrick?" "He fell from the fifth floor and he hit his head first. From that he lost a lot of blood. I'm afraid that he may not be able to make it if we don't take him to the hospital." "Thanks doc. Take care of them." I turned off the camera and went over with little Jenny. Jenny has tonsilitis. She's also the daughter of Mrs.Messer. "Are you feeling any better?" I asked. "Yeah, I miss Max." She said Max is Jenny's dog. They both grew up together since she was born. "Where is he?" I asked. "He felt sick. We needed to send him to the doctors." "Oh, Okay. I'm going with Sierra for a little bit. Okay?" She nodded. I started to walk up to Sierra where she was on her phone. "Damn. I can't get any signal in here." She said, "Well, didn't you hear Mr.Gomez. They isolated us from the outside. No one from the outside knows what's going on in here and we don't know what's going on out there." "Yeah, I know. I just don't feel like this is just a simple virus." "Yeah, according to the landlord, he has never seen anything like this before." "What do you think caused this?" "I don't know. But, I have a feeling that Dr.Nicholas has something to do with this." "What makes you say that?" "I guess because he was the only one in the building that would be able to produce something like this." "But, how? We haven't seen him for the past four years." "I don't know. Maybe he locked something in his department and knew he couldn't stay." "But, what would it be?" "That, I don't know." "Hey, Manu, Sierra. The officer needs us in the lobby." Said Mrs.Messer. We both got off the table and went up to the lobby. "Okay everybody. I just was informed that they are sending in a health inspector. They also told me that there is a possibility …that there is a virus in this very building." Everybody gasped. "But, don't worry, they will need to check our blood. Just, in case any of us may have it." Said the officer. "First things first." Said Alex. "We're going to check that everybody's here." Everybody was checked until they reached a three member family. "No, there's four." Said the father. "What do you mean?" asked Alex. "My grandfather," said the mother. "He is sick in bed. He needs to come down here. Down here with us." "I don't like that idea." Said Mrs.Messer. "What if he started this whole thing." "Mrs.Messer, please. Your daughter's sick too." Said the officer. "SHE has tonsillitis." I turned off the camera before anything got nasty.
It was four in the morning now. Everybody's tired by this point, even me. Sierra's head was lying on my lap while I kept watch. I kept thinking of Dr.Nicholas. What if he did something related here without us knowing. Was he doing an experiment and something went wrong. Or he knew and wanted to leave as soon as possible. I didn't get it. I then see the officer and Alex walking past us. They went up to the front lobby where the doors were. "Hey, wake up." I said to Sierra. "Huh, what is it?" She asked. "He's here." We both got up and went up to the lobby. Once we reached the lobby, I turned on my camera. "What the hell?" Said Sierra. The whole door was covered with plastic wrap and there was a soldier behind it. The officer went up first and talked through his radio. The soldier put his hand up. It looked like he wanted him to stop. He cut through the plastic wrap and opened up. One man wearing a white hazmat suit was giving the other man in a yellow hazmat suit a briefcase. "What are they going to tell us? That everything's alright." I said, He went through the doors and went up to the officer. Alex went up with them. They both started to explain what had happened in the past few hours. "I see." Said the yellow man. "Take me to the injured and the rest shall stay here." Then, he pumped into me. "Why is there a Tv crew here?" I turned off my camera and looked at him. By the look of his eyes, I can tell that he knew we've been through some shit. "We're not a Tv crew. We were just making a video for our school." I said, "I don't wanna see that camera again, boy." He shoved me aside and went to the back of the textile. I put down the camera by the staircase and sat down. "Damn." I said, Fifteen minutes have passed and nothing has happened yet. "Hey, Manu, come over here." I went up to her by the staircase. "What do you think it's taking them so long?" she asked. "I don't know. And I don't like it." I said, "They told us this virus is catigous. What if they turned just like the old lady?" "Jezz, don't make me think about that, Sierra. Damn, what a night." She looks at the door. "Come on. I can't just stand here any longer and do nothing." She said, I picked the camera and noticed it was on. "Huh. It's on and the lens is dirty." I said, "It doesn't matter. Let's go."
We both snucked inside the door and went to the back of the textile shop. The door to the room of both the short officer and Patrick was wide open. I turn on my camera and see Alex standing there. He then noticed me and shook his head to the door. The other officer looked at us and shut the door. "Damn!" I whispered. "Come on, there might be another way." Said Sierra. We went further back to the textile shop and saw windows that were connected to the other room. "Here, hold this." I gave her the camera and got on top of the table. I grabbed the camera and pointed the camera inside. The yellow man checked on both pulses and started to handcuff Patrick. "What are they doing?" Asked Sierra. "Shh... I can't hear anything." We were by the windows but we couldn't hear them since they were far away from us. The yellow man then started to inject the injured with something. "The guy is injected them with something." I said, He then gave another pair of handcuffs to the officer. By the way they were talking without me knowing that the officer is asking why they were handcuffing them. As the yellow man turned around to talk with the landlord and Alex, the injured officer grabbed the yellow man's backpack and pulled him towards him. Screaming started to form and the officer tried to bite the scientist's head off. The yellow man finially got off the infected officer. Then, Patrick decided to join the party. He got up and started to attack the landlord. "Oh fuck. Oh fuck." I said, ``What is it, Manu?" Asked Sierra. "We got to go. We got to go now!!" I yelled back. I jumped off the table and Sierra followed. As we passed by the door where the landlord got attacked opened. "Stay back!" Yelled Alex. All three of them got out. "Wait," Said Alex. "The landlord is still in there!!" "We can't be sure. He might be bitten by them." Said the yellow man. "I'm not bitten!" Yelled the landlord. "What the hell happen to them?!" Yelled the officer. "They were just fine a minute ago. What type of infection causes them to be like that." "Look, the virus can only spread by direct contact or saliva." Explained the yellow man. "They both handcuffed themselves to the table. As long you're not near them, your-" Just then, the door's window cracked and we saw two hands banging on the door. "Run!!" Yelled the officer. We all started to run out of the textile shop and we heard the glass break as we got out.
We ran until we reached the garage door. Once we went through, we shut it down and looked at the scientist. I was already tired of this shit. I drop my camera and get up to the scientist. "Okay, you son of a bitch!" I yelled. "Explain what the hell is going on here." I pinned him to the wall. "Alright." He said, He took off his mask and hood. He had orange hair and an orange beard. "We…" He said out of breath. "Received a call… from a variation… they reported that one of their patients... a … dog had a... unknown disease that was... out of the ordinary. The dog was put down. After a few moments, the dog than…. started to attack the rest of the clinic. There were no survivors. We needed to trangaliz him with several darts. We checked his collar and tracked him here." "Wait." I said, "Was that dog named Max?" "Yes." "It was her!" Yelled Mr.Gomez. We all backed away from Mrs.Messer who was still carrying her daughter. "She… has tonsillitis." She said, "Bullshit tonsillitis!" Yelled Mr.Gomez. "Mrs. please," said the scientist. She started to back away. "If your daughter was in direct contact with your dog, she might-" Then, Jenny looked at her mother and blood started to pour out between her nose and eyes. "AHH!!" She screamed in pain as her daughter was pulling her skin. The little girl started to run upstairs and Mrs.Messer tried to follow her. "Jennifer!" She screamed. Both Alex and the officer grabbed Mrs.Messer and cuffed her to the stairs bars. Then, the women from before yelled "Father!! Father come down please!!" "What is she talking about?" Asked the scientist. "Its- its- its her father. He's sick in bed." Said the officer. "What!" yelled the mad scientist. "And you didn't tell me!? We gave direct orders to have everyone in the front lobby." "We didn't know there were more residents?!" Yelled Alex. "here!" The doctor yelled. He handed them a needle that had yellow liquid inside. "Inject her with this!" He said, "And bring her back down here!" Both the officer and Alex started to go upstairs. I then followed them. "Manu!" Yelled Sierra. I ignored her and went up.
I reached them between the fourth floor. We then noticed in the hallway to the living room that there was no one there. "The old lady isn't there anymore." Said the officer. "Neither is the other one." I said, The officer grabbed his gun and cleared the room. We went into the room that started it all. "Where could she be?" I asked. I then turned around and Jennifer appeared out of nowhere. "There she is." I whispered. They both turned around and saw her. "Give me the needle." Said the officer. Alex handed the needle to the officer and he slowly went towards her. "Jennifer," Said the officer. "Give me your hand." By this point, I could tell that her eyes have changed. "What's wrong with her eyes?" Alex asked. Her eyes were pure blacken into darkness and little tears of blood were coming down on her cheeks. "I don't know," Said the officer. "Maybe- AHH!!" Jenny jumped on the officer and she was already biting his neck. "Get her off him!!" I yelled. I dropped my camera and tried to help the officer. "Help me Alex!" I yelled at him. He snapped out of his trance and helped me try to get Jenny off him. The more we tried to pull them apart, the more blood came out of the officer. We pulled her until we threw her on the couch. The officer then went up to her and grabbed her. "Get out!!" He yelled. "She bit me!! Get the fuck out for fucks sake!!" I grabbed my camera and almost ran out the hallway. "Alex!! Let's go!!" I yelled out. He turned around and went ahead of me. Then, the old lady from before came out of the next room. "AHH!!!" She screamed. Alex held his sledge hammer and hit the old lady. She kept screaming and Alex hit her across her jaw. We both were frozen. "Get out for fuck sake!!" Yelled the officer from across the hallway. We both then started to run downstairs.
As we started to run downstairs, some of the residents started to go upstairs. "Don't go down!!" Yelled the mom of the grandfather upstairs. "They're escaping!!" Yelled Mr.Gomez. As we both got to the bottom floor we saw Sierra struggling to keep the garage door closed. Alex went up to the garage door and kicked the infected landlord inside. "We gotta get her off this handcuffs!" I yelled. "Where's the keys!?" Yelled Alex at the scientist. The yellow man went through his backpack looking everywhere for it. "I don't have it." He said, "What do you mean you don't have it?!" I yelled. "The- the officer. I gave it to him." "Fuck!!!" I yelled. "We have to get her out of them anyway." I grabbed the chain and tried to break them with my hands. Then, the garage door started to open from the otherside. "We got to go." Alex said. But when the doctor saw them getting in, he started to walk backwards and started to run upstairs. "You son of a bitch!!" Yelled Mrs.Messer. "Sorry, we have to go." Said Alex grabbing me. "No! There's still time." I yelled. But it was too late, he already made me run up the stairs behind them. "NO!!" She yelled. By the corner of my eye I saw the short infected officer grabbing Mrs.Messer from behind. We ran up to the second floor. Mr.Gomez had the door open and brought us inside. But, the infected were right outside. "Put the chain up!" I yelled. They started to bang on the door. The four of us put our back on the door and they kept banging. Then, slowly, they started to calm down and go away. "Sounds like they're leaving." Said Alex. "Did you see that, Manu?" Asked Sierra starting to cry. "They were eating her alive. What the hell is all this?!" "What about the girl?" Asked Mr.Gomez. "It doesn't matter anymore. We've lost control." Alex said. "Now everybody could be infected." "We gotta get out of here." I said, "I'm not going anywhere!" Sierra yelled. "Wait, we can stay. We can stay." Said Mr.Gomez. "They'll come in to rescue us." "No one's going to get us! They don't give a shit what happens to us! Open your fucking eyes!" Yelled Sierra. "But the doctor! They care about the doctor!!" He yells back. "What?" asked Alex. "Where is he?" I asked. "He's over there." He said pointing at the door across from the living room. "That son of a bitch!" yelled Alex. "Wait don't-'' I said. He went up to the door and opened it up. "You son of a bitch I'll-'' But before Alex was able to get close to him. His arm was bloody and his hazmat suit was off. "I've been bit. Get out." He said, ``Get out!!" We all started to run out of the room and the doctor went up to the door and closed it. "This door won't hold me for long. You have to get out of here." He said through the door. Sierra started to run up to the windows where it was also wrapped with plastic. "Stand back from the windows." Yelled a woman in a microphone. "Or we will take drastic measures. Follow the agent's instructions inside. Thank you." We all looked down. I look at my camera. What was the point of filming at this point? "``Wait",``said Mr.Gomez. "There may be another way out." Sierra was in tears by this point and wasn't listening. "Manu, there may be another way out." He said to me, "``There's a sewer led under the textil shop. It connects with the sewer system. If we go down there, we're able to get out." "But, how?" asked Alex. "How do we go down there?" "It's locked. We need the keys of the landlord." Mr.Gomez said. "Where are they?" I asked. "In his house!" But then, the door that was keeping the bitten scientist broke through the door and grabbed him. "Damn it!" I yelled. Alex and I tried to pull away from the infected man from Mr.Gomez. "We have to go! He's a bit!" Alex yelled. The three of us ran out of the door and into the small narrow hallway.
"Where does the landlord live?" Asked Alex. "I don't remember." Sierra said. "He lives on the third floor." I said, "Alright, let's-" But then, the father ran up stairs and behind Alex. Alex grabbed the man's neck and snapped it. "Okay, let's go." He said, We ran up to the third floor. "Damn it! It's locked." I said, "Move out of the way!" Yelled Alex. He grabbed his sledge hammer and broke the door. "I'll stay here. You two go in and find the keys." Sierra went in first. "Alex." I said, "What?" He asked. "Thanks." He went silent. "Just get out of here." He said, We ran into the room and went into the living room. Sierra looked through the living room and I checked around the landlord's office. I kept looking and found a drawer full of keys. I dropped all of them onto the table. "Sierra came over and helped me find the keys." I said quickly. She came over to where I was and we put both hands inside the pile of keys. "Where is it? Where is it?" Sierra said. "Got it." I said, The key was in the middle of a ring of keys. We ran towards the door. "Wait where's Alex?" Sierra said. We looked around and looked off the railing and saw the infected residents poking their heads out. Then we see Alex's head poking out with his bloody mouth screaming at us. "Damn it! What now!?" Yelled Sierra. I look back at the door where we came from. "Let's go back inside!" We ran back inside and into the living room. "What are we doing here?" She asked. I look at the closet. "In there. Now!" We ran towards the closet. Sierra went inside and I shut in the door locking her inside. "What are you doing Manu!!" I needed to do this. I know she's going to hate me for this, but I do not care. It's for her own safety. If I survive this, I'll tell you everything. I will tell her how I feel and I will try to make all this up for her. I locked the door and quickly grabbed the sofa and cabinets that I could barracked to the door. "Manu!" she yelled. I picked up my camera and put it in my bookbag quickly and ran out the door. I look at the floor to where Alex left his sledgehammer. I picked it up. I still hear them running upstairs.
I ran up towards the stairs and to the top floor. I put the sledgehammer to the side and grabbed out the keys and went through the ring. I found the key and opened the door. I grabbed the hammer and saw the officer who I was arguing with earlier right behind me. Before he leaped at me I swung the hammer to his head and with his body fell off the railing. I ran inside and shut the door. I locked it but the infected residents were still ponding on the door. "Damn it!!" I yelled. But then, they started to calm down and started to go downstairs. "Fuck." I whispered. I switched on the light and the light didn't turn on. "Right. The powers out." I said, I sit down and dig inside my bookbag and pick up my camera. I turn it's light on and look around the room. I started to record. "What the hell is all this?" The whole room was filled with old newspapers and christen items like crosses and pictures of jesus. I look at the table with even more papers. But in some papers there was a tape recorder. I took off the papers and pressed play. "The cure did not have any effect on her mental state. It actually got worse," said the tape recorder. "It can't be." I said, The voice was from Dr.Nicholas. I pressed rewind and stopped a few moments later. "December 8, 2018. It's 12:45 am and I have come to a conclusion that there may be no cure for this deadly disease." I looked around the room while he was still talking. "The girl has been injected with more than 100 tested cures and had no effect." I looked at the pictures in the newspapers and saw a girl somewhere of my own age. "It has been 24 years since she has been infected and so far I don't believe I can't help her no longer. I have no choice but to kill her." I look back at the tape recorder. "If this infection gets out, who knows what it'll take to make up a cure if someone is bitten. So far, I have been able to cure young Manu since he was a boy." No it can't be. I thought. "I could only make up one antidote for the young boy. The antidote could only work after the victim was bit or infected. I could not produce any more of this antidote due to the lack of resources I have here. But due him having the cure in his bloodstream, he is not able to be infected by these demons. No matter what they tried. But, if he was possessed by the lord of demons himself, his bloodline was already cursed. But if the demon did try this world may already be doomed." I looked up at the newspapers again and saw her name on them. Maria Santos is missing. Believe dead. It said. "Maria has been a lot more intense lately and she was different than the other test subjects. But, what I have noticed is that this infection makes humans a lot faster and a lot more deadly. I will poison her tonight and hopefully destroy the virus with her. May God help us." The tape recorder stopped.
I shuffled through the papers and saw that Mira Santos was actually a nun. One night she was found in her bloody room. Stains of her blood were on the walls and her body was in a position so odd that it looked like something tried to get inside her mouth. Then, it said that she disappeared before she was able to be buried in the cemetery. "What the hell are you up to doc? And what do you mean that my bloodline is already doomed?" I asked the tape recorder. I then hear crawling coming from the ceiling. I pointed my camera up to the ceiling and slowly followed the sound which found a doorway to the addict. I grabbed a chair and picked up the camera once more and opened the door to the addict. I poke in my camera to light the room and looked through the camera to scout the area to see what it was. Then out of nowhere. I see an infected child and it hits my light. "Fuck!" I yelled as I fell. I put my knees and hands to the ground trying to grab my camera before the child attacked. I finally grabbed the camera and turned on the night vision mode and looked around the room and the child was nowhere in sight. I then hear steps walking towards the room. I look over the direction of where the sound was coming from a crippled skinny woman with rotten skin and long cringy white hair. I covered my mouth so I could not make a sound. I was able to see in the dark but she couldn't. I started to walk backwards to where I was looking through the newspapers. Then, I tripped and dropped the camera again. I heard running footsteps and felt her hands grabbing my wrists and her trying to make her face close to mine. I kicked her out of my face and quickly tried to find the camera . But, I felt both my legs being pulled back to the women. I punched her and kicked her out and got back to where I was lying. I then hear a child laughing from a distance. I then get pulled back into the darkness.
