Saet Byul helped Rin get ready because she had already finished preparing herself before coming to get her. Rin wore a white stretchy top, a pair of black jeans, a white mink coat with a scar and her hair braided on one side. "We are now ready to go. My dad must be waiting for me. I'll call him." Saet Byul was so excited that she barely breathed in while speaking. "Ok, call him now. So he tells when he's coming." Rin said happy to see that Saet Byul was so happy as she rarely did. "Hey, da. We are finished." Saet Byul said quickly as soon as her dad answered her call.
"Come down, you'll see my car in front across the road." His dad said. "Ok, bye dad." She held Rin 's hand and they ran out. When they reached, they found a white Cadillac XTS parked, Saet Byul recognised the car immediately since it was her dad's. "He's there, let's hurry and cross the road." She held Rin's hand tightly and they carefully crossed to the other side. Saet Byul hugged her dad as soon as he out of the car. "Dad, how long has is it been since I last saw you? I have missed you so much." Saet Byul howled.
"You came over two days ago for lunch, don't you remember?" He smiled seeing his daughter. Rin looked at the father and daughter dual and for the slightest moment she also missed her dad. "Da, this my friend I told you about. Let her introduce herself to you." Saet Byul introduced Rin to her father. "Hi, my name is Kim Hye Rin but you can call me Rin since that's what everyone calls me." Rin bowed swiftly to the man. "Nice to meet. I am Saet Byul's father. Jung Il Shik" He also introduced himself and looked at the girl examining her whole body.
Saet Byul had already sat in the front passenger seat, "You two aren't going to stand there for ever, we've got no time. I have to ride on the Ferris wheel." Saet Byul said with her head stuck out the window. The man opened for Rin the door to the behind seats and then he also took a seat in the driver's seat. "Let's go." Saet Byul said excitedly and added on, "You two should get to know each other a bit more, so I'll just be busy with my phone for now." Saet Byul then took out her phone. "So, Rin, where are you from? I know most of the people in the area but how come I don't know you, maybe I know your parents." The man interrogated.
"I am not from here. I don't want to disclose too much about me to people, especially my parents." Rin had become a pretty good liar from all the books she had read. "Oh, is that so? That's bad because I wanted to know more about you like why you leave Ma Roo, did you know that I am his step uncle." The man said. Saet Byul hadn't known about this before but when she heard that she was related to Ma Roo, she almost choked on her air, "*Garg* *Cough violently*" "Saet Byul, are you fine?" Her father asked worried about his daughter. "Dad, please, tell me you mean other Ma Roo, not the one I know, I am not related to that rude, volatile guy, am i?" Saet Byul prayed for it to be wrong. Her father almost burst into laughter but pulled himself back together. "Saet Byul, mind your language, Ma Roo is older than you." The father lectured her. "Nah!" She went back to her phone but still drowned with disbelief of how the world is such a small place, in all people, did it have to be him?
Rin spoke little in the journey because she felt uncomfortable, even when they went to the amusement park, she only talked much with Saet Byul and mostly when they were alone. They finally went to a restaurant after they came from the amusement park. Saet Byul seemed to be telling stories to her dad who pretended to listen but was actually texting someone. "Dad, are you even listening to me?" She asked angrily. "I was preparing for you something, come let's go get it. I am sorry Rin, could you please wait here, we'll be back soon." The father said apologetically to Rin. "Ok, I'll wait here." She said. When the man turned the other way he smirked as if he had succeeded in something. Not more than two minutes when the two had left. Rin was drinking her latte throw a straw, when someone sat beside her where Saet Byul was. When she looked up, she was surprised to see that Ma Suk was seated beside her with his chin cupped in his hands looking at her face while smiling weirdly saying nothing. "What are you doing here?" Rin asked without a trace of a smile on her smile on her lips. "Oh, young girl. I came to your face." Ma Suk said. "Bad thing, your face disgusts me." Rin told him. "Oh my goodness. That's why I liked you. You are so blunt. What are about my brother's face." He asked with a stuck smile on a face.
"Why do you care? Leave." Rin tried to suppress her by folding her fists under the tables. "Oh, I have just come. Don't be such a bad host. We make quite a great couple. Don't you think so. I am just a year older than Ma Roo. Not a big age gap. Plus, I can give you much more than him. I can take you to the best high schools here in S city. You are good at singing, aren't you? I can make you join any girl group you choose, what? You are so quiet, seems like you taking what I have told you into in to consideration." He chuckled. "If you are finished bluffing, get lost." She went back on drinking her latte but Ma Suk blocked her straw.
"What's your problem? You haven't even got to know me but you are refusing so fast." He said a bit angry but forcing on a smile. "I am lucky that got to know enough about you, which kind of brother tries to kill his own brother?" Rin said angrily at the pretentious man. "How…how did… I mean what do you mean." He almost asked her how did she know but kept on acting like he didn't know anything. "You can stop pretending in front of me but if you dare mess with Ma Roo any more, I promise you that you won't get away with it. I'll first strangle that lackey of your and then bury you alive." Rin threatened the man in anger, thunder was roaring outside in the sky which had suddenly got dark, lightning was sparkling as she said each and word.
Ma Suk felt chills flow down his spine. "Oh, calm down. How did you know that?" He finally stopped pretending in front of her seeing that she already knew his true intentions. "Leave!" She banged the table. "Ok." He didn't know why but he just stood up and left like he was being controlled by her. She sighed and after a few minutes, the weather also calmed down. Saet Byul came back with her father excited. "Rin, what is different about me that you see?" "you've got a necklace with a weird sea stone in it. I have never seen you wear it." Rin noticed quickly surprising Saet Byul.
"Wow, Rin. You are amazing, you noticed, I thought you were going to fail. My father has given it to me." She stroked it. "Saet Byul, do you even notice that am here." Her father joked around seeing the wo talked much without him. "Oh, I am sorry but this is girl talk." Saet Byul said. "Oh, ok, I am out of your business ma'am. If you are finished talking, we can go to the mall now and I take you back home.
After the shopping, he finally drove back home. "Rin, take this, it's not much but thank you for keeping Saet Byul company." He said sincerely this time. "Thank you, Mr. Jung." She took the shopping bag he had given her. "See you too girls. I've got to go." He waited for them till they crossed to the other side of the road. "Rin!" Ma Roo found Rin and Saet Byul waiting for the elevator while holding shopping bags.
"Rin and Saet Byul, you went shopping without me. Where are mine?" He ran to where they were and peeped in the shopping bags to see what they had. "My father bought everything." Saet Byul bragged. "Then you two can share, I don't need them." He looked away. "Oh, you thought we had got you too." Saet Byul stuck out her tongue at Ma Roo. "Saet Byul, I try to be so nice to you but you always want to pick a fight with me." Ma Roo looked at the 7-year-old in disbelief. "Who wants to keep peace? You? I bet a strand of my hair." The two bickered till the elevator came. Rin was unusually silent today.
