On the sixteenth day of Septimus, the Eladrin and Elven annual festival of Honor, a boy Eladrin was being born in the Faye, or the deep forest, in the Carpian forests. The mother's scream split through the calm silent night's air as she went into labor. When the boy finally emerged from the mother's womb, he did not cry or even shed a tear, in fact the only noise that he made was a gurgling in the back of his throat.
The midwife handed the boy off to his father and as he took in his son for the first time, his eyes shined with love and pride and he proclaimed boldly, "My son shall be a warrior with great Honor, for he is born from the blood of immortals and kings! I, his father, who has seen the age of the Great War, fought and lived through it, he shall follow my path and restore our name to its rightful glory! The festival of honor shall sing his name with praise in the ages to come! Look, even in his first moments of life he does not cry!' The father smiled wide and placed a kiss on his son's head before handing the boy off to his mother. The mother smiled as she held their son and cooed over him.
A knock on the door drew the father's attention away from his wife and son, a cold dread settling in the pit of his stomach. Opening the door, a young man appeared dressed in a dark grey tunic hood shadowing his face, but the man was fair skinned and had long dark brown hair to his shoulders, in which he wore a ponytail.
"It is time. The rebellion has begun in full force now…" the man began.
"My son has just been born! "The father exclaimed as he looked over at his wife just out of earshot of their conversation whose face was full of love and adoration of their son.
"I have given you as much time as I could. You are needed to lead. I will look after the boy and make sure he is trained and properly looked after. He will be none the wiser of who you are other than you are a man worthy of praise and who's name shall be sung in the halls of glory in the afterlife for eons to come." A man stepped out of the shadows of an alcove and the father's eyes darkened with anger, grief, and forlornness. The man just looked at him from beneath his cowl, his features hidden by the shadows, but the father would be able to feel his steady gaze of steel. Sighing in defeat the father looked back at his wife and said in a hoarse voice, "Take care of my son as if he were your own, name him what you will just swear to me on your honor, your blood, and next of kin that you'll keep my son safe," looking at his son he finally tore his gaze away and looked back at the man, "He is the answer to finding the other like himself and stopping The order."
The man looked at the father with a look of sorrow and ancient knowledge, knowing "I will keep him safe, you have my oath, but I know many things you don't." The father gave him a sharp look. "What's that supposed to mean?" The man ignored him and only said "It's time."
The father sighed and turned to his wife and went back into the room. She looked up instantly and her bright eyes suddenly clouded with grief and longing, but she looked down at her son and kissed his forehead lightly as the tears ran down her face unabashedly." We always love you never forget that" and she kissed his again and a light glow surrounded his small frame and a black marking almost like a tattoo surrounded his right eye in the shape of a swirling star, the top and bottom points were long and curved in opposite directions and the left and right points were shorter and also curved in opposite directions. She then handed the boy to the father who raised an eyebrow as he knew exactly what the symbol meant, and she just stared at him with eyes that dared him to say something. He just sighed and then handed the boy to the man whose eyes showed keen interest in the mother's sudden behavior and said "I see, this changes things immensely. I hope you won't regret your decision in the future as the gift you bestowed upon him will also be his curse" She glared at the man and said "We'll see about that. You aren't the only one who sees things, remember who I really am and don't let my appearance fool you."
The man chuckled under his breath and nodded, "I will not make the same mistake again, "as he took the boy and began to proceed to leave, he paused and called over his shoulder, "Lideria Lavar. Diterium Honvar." He said in their native tongue. they both hit their breast with a closed fist twice and held it there as they responded, "Live long. Die Honorably" With that being said the man nodded and disappeared into the dark forest of the Faye, with only the sliver of the moon to light his path as he left the cabin behind. Holding the boy, the man looked down and saw violet eyes staring back at him, a gummy grin splitting across his face and the man chuckled as he whispered to the boy," Thain. Your name is Thain." The child just looked at him with those violet eyes.
Leagues away at the exact same time in the Elven city Urithe, a mother's gasp filled her chamber as she just gave birth to her daughter and smiled as her midwife handed her the child. A pair of deep emerald green eyes peeked out from behind strands of silver hair. "Mi' Lady, she looks just like you, but she has her father's hair. She's beautiful." The mother smiled tiredly, pride beaming off her face as she replied, "Thank you and yes, her father's whole family has that silver hair of hers. It's a dominant gene that marks their house." The mother looked at her daughter's hair and smiled. "Silver, her name will be Silver MoonChild."
