Chapter 1 - A Blank Slate

A terrible feeling of fatigue swept over Venne as she opened her eyes to see a blurry thatched roof. Information swept through her brain as was expected by a transmigration, but she was still caught off guard by the force. She hastily sorted through the memories of the body she reincarnated into, becoming more and more doubtful of the operation's success. Seeing poor technology should have been a good thing, she should have a thousand years to fix the catastrophe of 2045. However, her host's memories displayed tons of strange things that go against everything she held as fact.

Almost habitually, Venne tried to enter her soul, but was unable. She didn't pay it much heed in her confusion, and just stared with empty eyes before she passed out from a headache.

The thatched roof came into view again, but this time it was clear. Venne could tell that it was night. At this point she was just barely awake to know that this isn't Earth. It was simply an outrageous series of coincidences that granted the planet with intelligent apes, green fauna and plants that are great as roofs. With a deep breath, she rose up from the hay bed she slept on.

Venne once again tried to enter her soul, this time conscious enough to agitate it into action. The Generation Ark stood proudly inside, the legendary feat of her twenties: a mobile structure capable of moving tens of millions in a vacuum. A structure that unfortunately didn't even have the chance to show its worth before humanity was snuffed out of existence right outside her soul.

Looking at it was calming. It stood as a memory of Venne's achievements on Earth, and wiped away the anxiety that came with this transmigration.

Venne could warp her body to the cellular enrichment pod, a sign that her modified soul could withstand travelling across dimensions. She walked in with a stride that had no trace of the confusion from a few minutes ago.

Luckily, the cells of this 'human' body only had changes that the CEP passed off as natural mutations in people, so it could modify the procedure algorithmically. A surge of energy swept into her body as Venne's soul fumbled around the memories of two worlds. She brought out a text file to try to properly collect herself and typed. A catastrophe happened in 2045. I had just invented the Soul Grid and was exploring the limits of spatial manipulation using the energy in one's soul. I was inside my soul when it happened. When I got out everyone was dead. No electricity in them, no soul, but also no wounds." She took a breath.

"After some searching, there were indeed some creatures left alive on Earth, but they were soulless. They reacted like normal humans and animals, but ultimately did not have a soul to feel the emotion sent by the brain. Thus I created two machines: one to expand the soul storage system, and another to pilot my soul across the fourth dimension. Gold was essential to kickstart negotiations. A weaponized drone factory was essential to take over Bir Tawil, or I can manage a reincarnation into the 1500s, influence medieval politics. It worked. By then I felt a sort of pain on my soul that cannot be created by human pain receptors."

Thinking about it now, the absurd coincidences weren't as absurd as thought. In reality, if these worlds were to be graphed, they would be a little bit apart on 3 axes.

The CEP revealed some important data in the background. It discovered several million microorganisms leeching off her, which were promptly killed and taken out. It's what likely killed the previous host and allowed for a transmigration of her soul. Venne looked back to the text document and continued typing.

"This is Venne, pronounce Vehn. Her life was joyous until an enemy invasion killed everyone in her town, while she barely lived by hiding on the top of the valley"

The physical brain and the brain embedded in Venne's soul were much better fused now. she had done what she needed so she let her soul sleep and recharge. After a bit, the CEP was done and her soul expelled her body out of reflex.

The night gave way to dawn. Venne woke up to finally greet the world she was unwillingly thrown into. She got herself together and looked at the surroundings.

A deserted village lay in the valley. It was run down. This Venne would have loved to have power in the invasion.

Venne thought about her past on Earth. Once again a lingering doubt came back. She couldn't remember why she wanted to save Earth. This girl had a great community who she saw as family. She would have loved nothing more than to have complete control over the Totstican Landmass, to be able to send magic creatures, plants, and magicians alike to defend it, while she decided to save Earth out of boredom.

Wasn't this the kind of adventure she was looking for? A challenge that may take a century? Earth may as well have been a tutorial with how simple it was to create a multi trillion dollar conglomerate by just manipulating money on the market.

Looking at this blank slate, she pushed those thoughts to the edge of her mind, and a grin spread on her face. This would be her new start.
