As I wake up and start to spin around trying to see where I'm at, all I can see is black. At first I thought my eyes were still closed or I was blind now but when I tried to touch my eyes, I realized I didn't have hands or even a body.
I started to think back to how I got here which could maybe help me figure out where I'm at now. I remember walking down the street, heading to my job at a dojo in my neighborhood. I've worked as an instructor there for about ten years. It was around two in the evening as I was making my way there like I do everyday, and I noticed that the sky was really dark. It looked like it was going to be a bad storm because the clouds were almost pitch black. I started running since it looked like it could start raining any minute now and I didn't want to get soaked. It usually takes me about ten minutes at walking speed to get to the dojo but since I was running I could get there in about five minutes.
I was about a minute away from my job when I started to hear thunder. It sounded like it was right above me, so I sped up my running. I could see the dojo further down the street now. I could see the dojo master standing by the door yelling my name and waving for me to hurry, so I sped up more, running as fast as my legs could move. As I was running across the street, I saw lightning out of the corner of my eye hit a lamp post and when I made it to the other side of the road I stopped and saw that it was destroyed to pieces and chard black. I just thought to myself, 'I'm glad it was the pole instead of me.'
When I turn back around to the dojo and see that the master has already gone back in. As I was about to walk into the dojo I heard more thunder and look up to see a bright flash come right down on me.
Which brings us back to where we are now. Since I was struck by lightning, that means I'm dead but I still don't know where I'm at. As I get lost in my own thoughts I hear someone clear their throat. I start looking around trying to figure out who made the noise but then remember I don't have eyes.
"Over here Zed" :???
As he said that, I turn towards the direction of the voice and see nothing but a light. I know I don't have eyes but when I look towards the voice, I see nothing but a bright golden light that just radiates warm energy which feels nice and comforting.
"Who's there and how do you know my name?" :Zed
"Oh yes, sorry for the late introduction, my name is #@$#$% but since you probably didn't understand what I just said you can just call me God and I know your name because I'm me." :God
"Okay…. So where are we and why is God visiting me?" :Zed
"Well to answer your first question, we are in the void. This is the place where people come to get reincarnated when they die. You see, if you've done good deeds in your life you go to heaven and if you've done horrible things you go to hell and if you haven't done a lot of good or bad then you just come here to get reincarnated. Simple right. And now for your second question. I'm visiting you because... ummm … I'm kind of the one that killed you and I'm going to reincarnate you in another world." :God
"Come again. Did you just say you killed me?" :Zed
"Ya well I kind of dropped one of my lightning bolts on you when I was…. Well how it happened doesn't matter. What matters now is that I'm here to help you reincarnate." :God
"Well I guess you're right. What's done is done. So what kind of world am I getting reincarnated in?" :Zed
"A world with magic, monsters, and dungeons. And since it will be dangerous and I want to apologize for killing you , I'm going to give you an affinity towards all types of magic and increase your learning comprehension and memory a little to help you out some. And I'll probably give you a couple more things when you get there which should help out a lot." :God
"Sounds awesome and everything but is there going to be like a catch to where I have to defeat the demon lord or something like that?' :Zed said skeptically
"No nothing like that..probably.. But if you have to go against some kind of demon lord I'm sure you'll do just fine." :God
"That's not really reassuring but whatever, let's just go ahead and do this. I'm ready to start using magic." :Zed said excitedly
"Since you're ready then let's do this." :God
As god said this it started to feel like I was getting pulled back by something.
"Also before you go let me remind you that you are going to a mortal world. So if you reach the top don't think that's the end because there are always stronger people above. Bye now and don't forget to have fun." :God
After he got done talking I felt a sudden jerk and everything went black.
When I came too. It was still black but I was able to feel things. After thinking for a couple minutes, I realized that I'm still in my mother waiting to be born.
