Chapter 233 - Insult to injury

Ying Xi had directly walked to the dorms, not even once looking back. Mo Feng'er had followed her, telling her that the ball would be shortly coming to a close. She also told her who had won the best singer and dancer, the best play, not that little dwarf Shi Weiwei, Xi was glad of that.

Feng'er had continued to chatter about how Ying Xuan had won the best designer, which soured Xi's mood, and when she had told about the belle and the gentleman of the ball, Xi had glared at her with so much anger that Mo Feng'er had ran away, muttering something about wanting to find her friends.

Ying Xi had come back to the dorms and had took an hour long shower, to scrub off all the dirt of the storage room, and even trying to scrub off the humiliation of being dragged away. Her skin was raw by the time she was done.

And to add insult to injury, Ying Xuan, after completely owning the night, had gone of somewhere to spend the night. Most probably with Wei Jingyu. Ying Xi hated Xuan. She hated her for everything. For having such great friends, for having someone like Jingyu love her so much, for having such real talent. Yes, Xi had seen some of Xuan sketches, they were really good. And for being so good at sports. Xi hated Xuan for being everything she was not. But most of all, she hated Wei Jingyu, hated him for making her so pitiful.

Tears began to actually fall from her eyes as she thought back to the previous six months of her life. She continued to wallow in her misery, sobbing silently, when she heard the bathroom door open. Xi slumped on the bed and curled herself into a ball, not wanting to be vulnerable in front of Xuan, sure that she would only gloat seeing her so.

This just went to prove how little Ying Xi knew her sister, who looked at her on the bed with concern in her eyes. Ying Xuan chewed her lip as she walked over to Xi's bed and reached out a hand. But her hand stopped inches away from her sister and she pulled it back, going to her side of the room to get ready.

Ying Xi continued to shed silent tears as Xuan buzzed around the room, choosing an outfit, doing her hair and make-up, and finally leaving. She sat up as she heard the bedroom door close behind Xuan and rubbed at her eyes.

Her phone lit up as if on cue. Ying Xi scrambled over to see a video call from her father. She kept staring at it until it had rung out and showed a missed call. Xi then picked up the phone and opened the several unopened messages from Ying Xuan.

The first message read, 'Whatever happened to you last night, I can't say that you didn't deserved it. I knew you were petty Xi, but going to such lengths to spoil Weiwie's play?'

Second message, Ying Xuan: 'I am the one who won't forgive you. It was fine until it was just me, but you did the biggest mistake of your life going after Weiwei. I am the one who will not forgive you.'
