She would have continued, but Xuan put a hand on her shoulder and pointed towards Shi Weiwei. Weiwei stood still as a statue watching the screen that was playing live all that was happening on stage.
She looked too much like a statue. Her face was expressionless and eyes empty, as though all the life had been drained out of them. Lu Zuan immediately rushed to her and began to try and console her as Xuan watched from a distance. She wanted to run upto Weiwei too, wanted to scream her lungs out, wanted to strangle the life out of Ying Xi. Ying Xuan wanted to do so many things right now, but her whole body seemed to be made of stone. It stood rooted to the spot while her mind raced.
Ying Xuan didn't know what she had been thinking about when a voice brought her back to reality. "I'm not going to say I told you so." Wei Jingyu said, appearing out of nowhere beside her, "But you better think of something fast." he finished, anger dipping out of his voice. Xuan turned her head to look at him, and was afraid of the expression on his face. Jingyu right now really looked ready to murder someone.
Though Xuan was scared, Jingyu's words and expression had put her body into action and mind on the right track. She looked around, and wanted to cry out in dismay. There was complete chaos back-stage. Some people were shocked, still trying to figure out what was happening, some were cursing at Ying Xi loudly, and some were even crying. Xuan felt like crying herself. But she instead took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
When she opened them again after a few minutes, nothing had really changed, except for the fact that the first scene was almost over. Ying Xuan spun around and was grateful to find Wei Jingyu still beside her, looking at her with confusion mixed in his anger. Xuan narrowed her eyes and slowly signed a few sentences to him. By the time she finished, he was smiling.
Though it was a sinister smile, mixed in with anger, that sent a shiver down Xuan's back as he said, "Done." before going off to find his friends. Once he was away, Ying Xuan took a few deep breaths and went to where Lu Zuan stood with Shi Weiwei. She tried signing to Weiwei, but the girl was completely out of it.
Xuan sighed and pulled Zuan away. "What do you want now?! Look what you did!!!" Lu Zuan snapped, pointing towards Shi Weiwei, who still gave no response seeing her best friends fighting. "And I'm trying to correct it!" Ying Xuan mouthed, making Zuan frown and calm down a little. "What do you have in mind?" she finally asked, sceptical. Xuan let out a small smile before she mouthed, "I want you to find a microphone and narrate something before the second scene starts."
"What?" Lu Zuan asked. She raised her eyebrows as Ying Xuan finished explaining to her. "I see. That will string the story back together. But what are we doing about Ying Xi?" she asked. 'Leave that to me.' Xuan signed. Zuan nodded and walked away as Ying Xi gave her hysterical performance some final touches on the stage.
