Ying Xuan took out her phone, but just then Weiwei made another great suggestion, "How about asking him to come to the ramen shop? I really don't feel like eating cafeteria food today."
Ying Xuan gave a wink and messaged Su Shaoyan, 'Come to the ramen shop. No cafeteria food today.' She added a victory emoji and hit send.
Su Shaoyan almost immediately replied, 'Great. I'll be there in a minute.'
Ying Xuan headed there with Shi Weiwei while she also messaged Lu Zuan, 'Hey, want some ramen?'
Lu Zuan replied, 'Can't. I'm at a family friend's place for breakfast. Everyone is here.'
Ying Xuan: 'Hope you survive and we see you tomorrow.'
Lu Zuan: 'Fingers crossed.'
Ying Xuan chuckled and slipped her phone back in her pocket. Shi Weiwei looked askance.
Ying Xuan signed, 'Zuan can't make it. Family breakfast.'
Shi Weiwei pouted, "Shuks. Let's go."
The two girls met Su Shaoyan waiting on the shop's door.
Shi Weiwei rushed upto him and said, "Why are you standing in the sun? Let's go in."
Su Shaoyan hugged Weiwei and said, "Oh Weiwei, I missed you too. Without anyone to nag me, I was getting very lonely."
Shi Weiwei pouted as Ying Xuan came up behind them. She signed, 'Hii.'
Su Shaoyan greeted her and the three headed into the shop.
As they settled down after ordering, Su Shaoyan said, "We are not in the campus, why don't you guys ask Zuan to come too?"
Shi Weiwei: "We did. She has come kind of family breakfast."
Su Shaoyan gave an oh as he turned towards Ying Xuan, "Dressed up like that? I assume you are also trying for the teams."
Ying Xuan had already noticed that Shaoyan was wearing running shorts and a jersey. She signed, 'Yup, basketball. What about you?'
Su Shaoyan: "I'm thinking of going into athletics. I'm a great runner you know."
Shi Weiwei: "Yeah. I saw you running once when you said Xuan's dress was not nice."
The three burst out laughing.
Su Shaoyan said, "So Weiwei, what about you?"
Shi Weiwei was surprised, "Me? I'm not such a sports person. But I'll be there to cheer you guys on...With a book if it gets boring."
Ying Xuan chuckled, 'You really are something else.'
The three headed towards the gym building after breakfast. On the entrance, they bumped into a group of three boys. They were seniors and all of them were in the current basketball boys' team. Ying Xuan and the others said hello to them.
The one in the middle said, "Oh, are you guys here to watch the trials or try out?"
Before they could answer, another one of them spoke, "I really hope you guys are not here to try out. Someone like Su Shaoyan would spoil the school's image. And, well, it's not a beauty pageant." He said, eyeing Ying Xuan.
The third one could not keep his mouth shut and also spoke, "Well, it would be great if there was sone eye candy on the team. The girls team is anyway only good for sitting and looking pretty."
