Chapter 36 - Myzer's advancement

After leaving Dominic and the crowd of shocked people, Xue Mo followed the path Myzer took after having Dominic order him. He was going to check some stuff before going to a place that could give him information.

With his body being reinforced by Shadow Soul Pressure, Xue Mo caught up with Myzer quickly. His body was already under a toll of pressure from this. Ever since he met the duo assassins, Xue Mo had been reinforcing his body with Shadow Soul Pressure, and this is why he was able to fool everyone so clearly.

Even Dominic got fooled, thinking that Xue Mo had higher cultivation. It seemed that his unique energy's suppressive power imitated the feeling a cultivator got when they met someone who had a higher cultivation base.

Following the order Dominic gave him, Myzer immediately started running to the Pagoda. He didn't notice Xue Mo, who was already behind him as he thought out loud, "I knew Senior Mo and Yao were such great existences, but not to the degree that even the Principal seemed afraid of them." His respect for Xue Mo increased.

"I should hurry!" He didn't want to delay the mission Dominic gave him. Yet, he also didn't want to let Xue Mo wait. "I hope Senior Mo enjoys his stay here!" It seemed that his worship of Xue Mo due to his power had increased.

Xue Mo and Lu Yao, who were behind him, didn't say anything; nonetheless, the teasing face Lu Yao had were anything but calm. She wanted to tease Xue Mo, but she also wanted to hear what else Myzer had to say.

Unfortunately, after he uttered the last part, he increased his speed and spoke no more. Lu Yao sighed before getting to work. "Ay, ay Senior Mo, you are such a great existence. Your fans are adorable!" Lu Yao's words made Xue Mo's eye twitch, but he didn't reply.

It didn't take long for Myzer to leave the main academy building. He turned to the left and arrived in front of another structure similar to the previous one. However, this building didn't seem as unique as the previous one, yet Xue Mo could feel the energy inside it, and his eyebrows arched in surprise.

Myzer, who was running with his fastest speed, stopped at the building door and panted. "So, this is the pagoda!" The cold voice made him jump in surprise. He turned around and saw Xue Mo and Lu Yao staring at the building with examining eyes.

'When did they?' Myzer hadn't realized that he was being followed. After a few seconds, he calmed down. He knew from experience that Xue Mo could seem like a ghost when he wanted.

"Yes, Senior Mo!"

Seeing the oozing respect that was coming out of Myzer's eyes, Xue Mo felt uncomfortable. No one had ever looked at him that way. People in the Divine Hell Universe were always scared of him. Avoiding him was such a significant relief to them, so Myzer's contrasted act made him feel weird.

Myzer didn't say anything and went inside. He kept glancing behind him every few seconds and gazed at Xue Mo with burning eyes. Xue Mo started ignoring him, and this situation continued while they descended stairs and floors of the Pagoda. And with every new floor, the Arch and Mana increased in purity and density.

Xue Mo had expected something like this, but he still felt surprised. 'Are they using Arch gathering arrays?' Xue Mo asked himself at one point. He was correct, the assassination academy used both Mana and Arch energy, and with both energies in its possession, it was able to utilize magic formations and arrays. That is also why they were the strongest power in the Ash Expanse.

After descending nine floors, they reached the ground floor, the highest and most concentrated energy gathered there. Myzer bathed in the energy, and suddenly the aura he had around him appeared to have become stronger. Xue Mo looked on as Myzer advanced in realm.

It seemed due to the energy on the ninth floor of the Pagoda, Myzer was able to cross his bottleneck and advance in realm. Xue Mo didn't congratulate him or anything; he was busy looking at the weird phenomena in front of him. Internally he was analyzing what was happening, and his conclusion surprised him.

'This is different than what I know!' Xue Mo was someone who had reached the Divine Celestial stage in cultivation. His knowledge was second to none in the Divine Hell Universe, but he was confused right now. It seemed that cultivation in this world was different.

"I advanced. I am now at the Qi condensation realm!" Myzer said with excitement. His voice was trembling and choking. He had been stuck at the peak of the previous realm for a long time.

Myzer quickly regained his bearing, although he advanced in realm and was happy, the pressing matter that Dominic gave him took priority. Instead of feeling that this was due to his talent, Myzer attributed his breakthrough to Xue Mo. If Senior Mo didn't come here, Dominic wouldn't have allowed him to come here.

Myzer accelerated his steps, and since they were on the last and largest floor, it took a while to reach their destination; Myzer stopped facing a door. It was the only door on this floor. He entered the door and saw an empty room. Taking out things from his space ring, he started furnishing the room. In less than ten minutes, the previously desolate room seemed to have turned into one reserved for kings.

Xue Mo didn't care about what Myzer did. He had slept in caves, forests, and other places in his life. As long as he could cultivate, he would be satisfied with anything.

Myzer stood to admire his work before turning to leave. Yet, just before he started moving, Xue Mo intercepted him, "Where can I find the library?"

"Library?" Myzer was confused but still answered. "We don't have a library here." Seemingly having understood what Xue Mo wanted, he continued, "Though, we do have a similar place in the Exchange Pavilion."

Myzer said with happiness, "Let me lead Senior Mo there." Immediately after he offered, Myzer started moving. It seemed that he wanted to spend more time with Xue Mo as repayment for his breakthrough. Those same long stairs that they had just descended were ascended.

In less time than before, the trio moved and left the Mana and Qi Pagoda and arrived at the last significant building. This structure, just like the Pagoda and the main academy building, had intricate veins of Mana running through the walls. Entering the building, Xue Mo was met with a completely different view than before.

Unlike the simple buildings that he had seen so far in the academy, this one had treasures and books of all kinds displayed around it. Myzer didn't waste time and appeared in front of the sitting receptionist. He looked at her as she looked back at him with serious gazes before both grinning.

"So, you are back." Although the statement seemed like a question, the happiness conveyed in it was clear. Myzer knew the receptionist. "And, you have… advanced in realm?!!" After she carefully inspected Myzer the similarly tanned woman stood up with a start.

"Took you long enough!" She huffed and seemed to return to the same state she was in when Myzer appeared. "Ah, come on. Your brother advanced in realm, be happier, Vanessa!" Myzer's words clarified the situation. Although they seemed similar, comparing the skinny woman to Myzer's bulging muscles, the connection didn't click for a second. If one didn't say it, no one would believe them when they introduced each other as siblings.

"Anyway, why did you come here?" Vanessa asked while yawning, seemingly wanting to change the conversation or sleep.

"Oh, Senior Mo, I am sorry for the delay!" Myzer remembered why he came here, turned around, and kowtowed; he went as far as to hit his head in the ground. Seeing what Myzer just did, Vanessa's eyes went sharp as she straightened herself. She knew that Myzer wouldn't do this to just anyone.

After seeing Lu Yao warn him to stop with her eyes, Myzer got up, dusted himself, and turned to face his sister. "Ness, this is Senior Mo, under the Principal's order, he is to do whatever he wants!" Catching on to what her brother meant, Vanessa looked at Xue Mo and respectfully asked, "What does Senior Mo want?"

With Vanessa's question being asked and no reply from Xue Mo, the room's atmosphere became awkward. Lu Yao knew it was her turn to speak, so she did, "We want books. All the books here!"

Hearing Lu Yao speak, Vanessa was surprised, but she downed her curiosity as she analyzed what she heard, and with it, her eyes widened. 'a-all the books?!' Although she thought it was absurd, Vanessa complied. If it was the Principal's order to let Xue Mo do what he wanted, she had no say in his decision.

She left her desk and started collecting books into her space ring. Myzer watched as his sister went from row to row of the book sections and filled a space ring with all the books in them and felt terrible for her.

On the other hand, Xue Mo wasn't paying attention to his surroundings while thinking bitterly, 'another change of plans it is.'
