Chapter 1 - -How it all began-

As far as I know, my life has been pretty great aside from the small conflicts from time to time. I'd say I am pretty happy with my life. I have a great family and some great friends that are nice to hang out with. Right now I am in college and living some sort of dream life, I don't think I will change this life for anything in the world. I am planning on becoming a doctor. I know it is going to be hard but for now, I am doing great in my studies. I work 2 different jobs to help accommodate my lifestyle and pay for my studies. I mean they pay fairly well for being low-income jobs, but I'm managing. The reason I want to become a doctor is that I want to help people in need and prolong their life here on earth. I remember making a promise with my grandmother that I would become a doctor and help save my grandad, but unfortunately, I could not keep that promise because a week later, he died in his sleep. So I made a promise to myself to save others so they don't have to go through the same thing as me.

Lily: ...Hey.

Ivy: .....

Lily: HEY YOU, WAKE UP!

Ivy: OH GOD, sorry I was spacing out.

Lily: Seriously, you were so out of it, did something bad happen?

Ivy: Huh? No, not really. I was just thinking.

Lily: About what?

Ivy: I mean I am going to turn 20 soon and I still don't have a boyfriend...

Lily: Jeez, You keep rejecting anyone who asks you out, Ivy you need to not reject them if you want a boyfriend.

Ivy: ...But I don't like them, besides, most of them are cheating so I rather not get into that kind of relationship, I want someone honest and loyal.

Lily: Understandable, how about asking out Seth? He is really good looking and you guys are really close too.

Ivy: Uh, you don't know what kind of person he is, not in a million years I want to ask him out.

Lily: Oh well, stay single forever then. Haha.

Ivy: Maybe that is for the best. Anyway, how did it go on the test?

Lily:...

Ivy:...Did you fail? really?

Lily: Hey! It's not my fault! I was just really busy...

Ivy: Busy how?

Lily: ...sleeping...

Ivy: Really now?

Lily: If you didn't want me to fail, you should have let me copy from you!

Ivy: And how am I supposed to do that? I was on the other side of the classroom, you idiot.

Lily: *grumble* Still your fault!

Ivy: Oh well, remember to study next time and I am going to buy you ice cream.

Lily: Wait really? Thank you!

Ivy: You are such a child.

Lily: I'm older than you. So shut up you midget.

Ivy: Very funny Lily, in any case, I should get going, It's getting dark.

Lily: Aw come on! Fine... Anywho, thanks for the coffee! I'll buy next time okay?

Ivy: I'll hold you on that, Goodbye!

Lily: Bye!

I get out of the cafe and make my way home.

Ivy: (oh wow, nights come faster in winter, I hope it'll snow soon, then I will get to skip work AND get paid!)

I was feeling more tired than usual so I decided to take a shortcut.

Ivy: I'm so tired...When I get home, I'm going to take a relaxing bath, but I have to be careful and not use up too much water or else the water bill will be too much and I don't think I can pay.

Suddenly, I start to hear footsteps behind me. They sounded like they were speed walking and they were heavy.

Ivy: (That's strange... no one takes this shortcut asides from me, I mean it's really narrow and filthy.)

And with that, I turn around to see a large man holding a bat. He stops as soon as I turn around, he stops on his tracks. He is staring right into my eyes and is mumbling something under his breath. He gives me chills on my spine.

Ivy: Um excuse me, do you need something? Can I help you with something?

Man: .....may....be...

Ivy: Huh?

Man: Just make this easy for me and let me kill you.

Ivy: WHAT THE?!

As I hear that, I start running at full speed. The man also started running. It didn't help that the street was very narrow and dark so I just ran and ran as fast as I could trying to not let him catch me. Unfortunately, things don't go as one wants to and he soon catches up to me and hits me on the head with the bat, and thus, I fall unconscious.

I really thought I died, but when I awoke from my slumber, I wish I died instead because of what was waiting for me, was far scarier than death.
