In a certain forest located on the outskirts of the city was Dante.
The forest was endless, dark, and blooming. Its canopy was claimed by elm, chestnut, and birch, and abundant dancing lights bounced through their crowns for all sorts of shrubs to spread in the fertile soils below.
Curving climbing plants suspended from many trees, and a hodgepodge of flowers, which claimed remnants of light, stood out against the otherwise mundane backdrop.
A variety of animal sounds, predominantly those of herds of larger animals, added life to the forest and overpowered the occasional sounds of birds of prey gliding in the air.
