As the Boy emerged from the bed he looked over at the Window. "Ah, more snow" he muttered as he pulled his shirt over his head. He looked over at the girl who was thrashing around in her sleep "I'll leave her asleep" he said, put on his boots, and walked to the innkeeper's desk. "If a stranger girl comes to the front desk looking for me, tell her I went to get wood" . "will do" the innkeeper happily replied. As the boy headed out. As the boy reaches the edge of the woods he hears a faint Crying he clenches his ax and tells himself "it's none of my business just here for firewood" As the boy begins to chop down wood he can't help but hear the faint cry he tells himself. "No no I'm not going to get involved in this' ' As he walks deeper into the woods the Faint Cry turns into a Roaring Cry. The boy turned around with the wood he had gathered in tow and headed for the inn. As the boy entered the room a pillow came flying toward him "You left me" the girl pouted. You were asleep and I didn't want to wake you up so I went to get some firewood for the furnace as the boy said he couldn't help but recall what had just happened. There's someone in that forest who needs help, he thought to himself. the girl looked at the boy "Why are you looking like that?" She asked him as she rested her head in his lap. "No reason." the boy quickly responded. The girl insisted that the boy tell her but the boy did not speak a word of it. "Fine if you're gonna be that way" the girl playful replied as she crested the boy's face with her hand "We should get going," The boy says as he stands up.``But we haven't eaten anything since as far back as I can remember the girl pouts." "Ok let's hunt and after we've eaten we can depart," the boy says. the girl jumps with joy as she asks what are we hunting? "Small Game stuff we can carry with us." the boy replied. As the boy came upon the forest "what are you doing standing around dummy?" the girl asked as she rushed into the forest. The boy shook himself off "oh I'm sorry" he said in an apologetic tone as he rushed in. As the boy and the girl walked through the forest looking for a small game the boy stopped. "Are you ok?" the girl asked, concerned as she turned around. "I'll catch up, you just go on ahead," he told the girl. The girl did just that and walked off in search of a ground squirrel. The boy sat up against a tree "I didn't hear anything" the boy said as he tried to reassure himself. But he hears the same Roaring Cry from Earlier. As he runs the sound gets louder and louder until it engulfs him "Make It Stop Make It Stop" the boy yells but to no avail. The boy closes his eyes tight as the sound is now right behind him and it goes Silent.
