Chapter 2 - The start

Jawsh was reading through the hidden functions of the game Imperium, lying on his bed.

He had a holographic device projecting the information on a blue hologram and he used his eyes to scroll down the documents.

Jawsh slid his hand inside his bed's frame revealing a slight opening and pressed a button,

"Hey, May" Jawsh called out.

"Hmph, I thought you forgot about me, only letting me out when you need my help." A feminine voice nagged at Jawsh for his lack of attention towards her.

"I want you to help me with this document."

"Wait let me scan it." The voice said as a blue scanning light scanned the device in the hand of Jawsh.

Jawsh put the white device that was now turned off to the side,

"Imperium Online!"

"Well, what have you got?" Jawsh asked May.

"A game which allows a new life, it seems that it is not like any other one out there...." May read through the document introduction,

"You are going to play this game," May questioned,

"Kinda yeah" Jawsh replied with a smile.

"So how did they develop the game world," Jawsh asked thinking about all the buzz surrounding the game.

"They used the most advanced quantum computer and a lot of AI."

"Hmm, Using the most advanced AI to plot the trajectory of the whole world," Jawsh muttered understanding how the game was developed.

"What's the maximum level in the game?" Jawsh asked curiously.

"No level caps, the game would continue to grow indefinitely," May reported and Jawsh nodded his head appreciating the ambitions of the team behind this project.

"They did promise another life, let's see May tell me the basic information in the game." Jawsh was amazed at the fact that several Quantum computers would be generating the game content making it so that the game could never be completed.

"There is a Class system with normal and hidden classes."

"Myth, Legendary, Epic, Rare, and the Normal rated classes, this seems nothing new, some of the games have tried this system before."

"I know all of this can you skip to the next head...." Jawsh said.

"Hidden missions..." May read through the list of missions provided in the beginner area and the starter town of the various players spread across the galaxy.

"So what would be my beginner town?" Jawsh asked another question.

"Salde... Salox... Salvator here it is, beginner town id 1567#DX."

"What's the situation like in my would-be beginner town?" Jawsh asked hoping to find some trick and hints to easily level up in the beginner town.

"......." May narrated the whole information about the beginner town associated with the Salvator Space colony.

"So there are three hidden NPC in the beginner town and a hidden area boss, hmm hmm" Jawsh quickly formulated a plan to get the most benefits out of the starter town.

"Stat points gained through titles and level up." May continued.

"Skip this," Jawsh said thinking that this bit was similar to all the other games out there.

"The NPCs actually have different AI priorities, so the NPCs become smarter as their importance increases." May started reading the next topic.

"Only the human race would be available to players at the start but one could change his race after the main storyline mission related to that race is completed." May continued.

"Only humans." Jawsh thought this was for the best as it would motivate the player base to complete the storyline missions of the races they could then turn into.

Listening to May, he had the complete roadmaps for completing such missions for different unlockable species in-game made Jawsh face plastered with a wide smile.

Jawsh quickly skimmed through more of the document containing the private information about the game that had yet to be made public, the mystery surrounding this game was what everyone was excited about but Jawsh had torn that veil of mystery and was currently reading hidden mechanics in the game that would help to develop his in-game character to its full potential.

"Skills must be taught by NPCs or must be learned through skill books that could be found in libraries and drop from only human type mobs." May kept ongoing.

"Basic skills could be learned by doing the action once the list of basic skills one can learn, Slash, Cut, Sneak..." Jawsh read through the list describing the actions needed to activate the basic skills.

"No auto-aim for archers and mage type classes." Jawsh's brows furrowed on this.

"Mages are gonna cry over this, this is going to nerf them a lot..."

.....

...

...

"A growth type, a hidden class that starts at normal rating but can grow to Myth, interesting....." Jawsh commented at a special hidden class that he could obtain in his main city.

Jawsh fell asleep listening.

"Well, I am going back now!" May said before she too became silent.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You have a guest!"

"You have a guest!"

"You have a guest!"

Jawsh was woken up from his sleep by the robotic voice announcing that someone was outside his quarters.

Jawsh washed his face in a sink that was so small that only one of his hands would fit inside its bowl.

Jawsh slides his door open to see the merry bunch chatting among themselves.

"Let's go Jawsh you are still sleeping in, Henry was so excited he had already gone to the cargo hold receive his capsule," Mathew said to him as dragged him along with him.

Jawsh could only follow after this bunch soon they reached the hold where henry was busy authorizing the transaction, Jawsh moved up to the person who was carrying a holographic pad in his hand.

"Jawsh Black" Jawsh declared to the man who was probably going to ask his name, the man nodded his head and then asked for a scan from Jawsh after due processes Jawsh followed after the bunch who were curious to see the better capsule gifted to Henry by his dad.

Later Jawsh returned to his quarters where a new capsule was installed replacing his bed as there was not much space in his quarter he had decided that he would use the capsule as a bed when it was needed.

"Let's get started!" Jawsh said as he laid inside the gaming capsule and saw the capsule door shutting on him a gas was ejected from the capsule as it completely closed.

"Welcome Player to the Imperium!" A booming voice declared and Jawsh was transferred in a place that appeared to be a hall of mirrors he could see a reflection on every mirror but the reflection had no face or hair a bald blank slate.

A panel appeared in front of him, asking him to change his body and face accordingly.

Let's go with my usual self, Jawsh declared as he saw the reflection change to a face he was most familiar with but without the reddish hue that differentiated him from the normal humans.

He adjusted the face features a bit more making it seem not obviously recognizable he changed the hair color to white added a short beard which was also white bulked his avatar look more muscular.

"A name?" Jawsh pondered he had planned out his whole course through the games starting stage but he had not decided on a name.

"Ghost" Jawsh entered the name by spelling it then confirmed it.

The mirrors around him cracked as he felt his eyes close...

A cool breeze blew causing his white hair to flutter, Jawsh opened his eyes to look at his surrounding.

He was standing inside a park surrounded by mud roads and wooden buildings, a strange cacophony of noises entered into his ears, Jawsh turned to look at the source of the sound realizing it was other players who had also logged in for the first time, marveling at the detail of the game.

Jawsh quickly started to move towards the town hall ignoring everything else in his path, he was a man with a plan.
