Chapter 60 - The Gold Ticket

Looking at it I read the description and it read, this ticket opens up a free list of high grade gear that will allow you to become stronger. The item will grow with you and you level up and will allow you to play the game the way you want to play it. I nodded and touched the yes on the screen. My vision went black. All around me was darkness and only the ticket in my hand provided light to my surrounding. Looking down it looked like I was floating in mid air. This was pretty disorienting to say the least.

Slowly items started to appear, they were anything from weapons to different kinds of clothes, armor, and then various gadgets and gizmos.

***Would you like to sort the items? Yes or No?***

"Yes please sort by racial requirements," I replied, "I am looking for vampire equipment."

*** Searching for vampire equipment***

"Well at least I know that verbal commands will work for this." I said out loud.

What seemed like five minutes later, I stood there tapping my foot annoyed. Nothing was happening at all it just kept saying searching. Which was royally getting on my nerves.

*** Search has failed nothing called vampire equipment was found***

I wanted to scream, I waited forever for nothing.

Taking a deep breath, "How can I search for the things only my race can do?"

*** You can say sort by my race***

Gritting my teeth, "Sort for my race"

*** Error invalid request***

"AHHH!!!" I screamed, "Sort by my race"

***Sorting for Vampire race only***

"Finally," I grumbled, "Hmmm what should I get. A cloak could be cool, but definitely no weapons. Maybe a special item or accessory."

*** Filtering out weapons, will bring up Cloaks, items and accessories for you to view.***

Well that is more handy. I thought to myself. At least it can sort by multiple criteria.

I checked the clock and waited. Eight minutes later it was still sorting. Again I was getting pretty annoyed at the waiting around.

"How long is the sorting going to take?" I asked.

*** Ten more minutes left to sort through before results can be shown***

"Can I at least have a chair to sit on while I wait?" I asked once again tapping my foot.

A chair appeared and I walked over and sat in it. I decided to pull up my messages and I saw my friend icon blinking. Opening it up I saw someone by the name of Raina that sent me a friend request. I tapped on the open button.

"Hello, we just met a bit ago in the last quest. I am the vampire who died during the quest. I was wondering if you would be interested in being friends on here. You seem really cool and were very lucky in your vampire background. I really am a nobody though so I understand if you don't want to be friends with me. I won't be offended if you ignore my friend request." Raina

I looked at the bottom and saw the accept or ignore buttons. I clicked accept, I could always block her if she got a bit creepy or weird. A reply box appeared it had a bunch of automatic replies I could give or I could write my own. I selected to write my own.

"It is nice to actually meet you Raina, I would be more then happy to be your friend. So tell me a bit about you. Where are you from? How old are you? I am 18 and still in high school, finishing up my senior year." Lilith

*** Sorting has been completed***

"Bring them up please." I replied, as I stood up.

The categories I saw were Armor, Gloves, Cloak, bracers, jewelry, item, and unique consumables. I wasn't interested in armor, gloves, bracers or unique consumables.

"Please only open and show me, Cloak, Jewelry and Items" I spoke up.

The area went pitch black and only 20 items appeared in my view. Three Cloaks, 5 rings, 2 necklaces, and the other 10 were items. I was really not happy that it took almost 20 minutes to show me TWENTY items. This was ridiculous!!!

I walked over to the cloaks, one was out right away, no way in hell was I going to wear a pink and yellow cloak even if it did give me the ability to summon up to 6 creatures to come to my aid 3 times a day. The second cloak had promise as it was at least dark blue but it only gave me the ability to cast a buff twice a rest. I could pick between Aid, fireball or wish which could be changed during each rest. Looking at them I thought that those would be good to have but I shuddered at the wish buff. I remembered a time I wasn't specific and ended up being a rat for 7 days in my old Dungeons and Dragons pen and paper days. The third cloak was solid black but its only ability was the ability to fly for 20 minutes at a time.

"Please remove this cloak." I said touching the pink and yellow cloak.

It vanished from sight.

"Also remove this cloak as well."

The black cloak vanished as well.

"Save this cloak for me to view again at the end."

The buff cloak turned gold and moved over by the chair.

Walking over to the Rings, none of them were anything I needed. More strength, agility, charisma, water breathing, and protection from sunlight. Moving over to the 2 necklaces, they were interesting. One allowed me to pick locks and disable traps as if I took a rogue like personality. The other increased my tolerance to sunlight. I guess those were fitting for people who wanted to sneak around and break in or steal things which was not my kind of play style, or can't stand the sunlight but I have no issue with sunlight at all.

I glanced at the items but only one seemed interesting to me. It was a black jewel that could be put in a ring, bracelet, or necklace. As I walked up to it, I was only given an your level is too low to view what this item does. You must awaken it to see what it will grant you based on who you are. Value is 2,000,000 Gold.
