Chapter 20 - Episode 20

"Are you ready to go?" Terron asked with uncertainty.

"Yes" Alea replied firmly.

"Alright. How do we get to Nrieth from here?"

"Are we taking horses?"

"Yes, Oila. You have a better idea?"

Oila stared at the Kroll siblings and began laughing. A smile rest on Alea's lips but she said nothing.

"You can't access the Nrieth Continent by Land"

"How did Alea get here then? She said she passed through a desert"

"She wandered onto the desert. She somehow deviated from her course and was pulled into the desert. If you try passing the desert, you'll never reach the Nrieth Continent. The best way to travel there is by air"

"How do we do that then?" Terron asked in annoyance.

"I didn't want to do this soon. I'm doing this for you Alea. The things you make me do"

"Thank you Oila" Alea said gently. Oila rolled her eyes and snorted. She opened her mouth and let out a shriek. It was so loud, they couldn't hear it anymore and all of them had excellent senses.

Oila stopped shrieking and rest on Alea's shoulder. When they thought nothing had happened, they heard a loud roar. In just a few seconds, there was a huge green creature above them, roaring.

"Is that your mum, Oila?" Mica asked in fright.

"Nope. That's my papa" Oila replied and jumped on to meet the dragon.

The siblings looked at Alea with question marks on their faces.

"Male dragons care for the young. The female just lays the egg and goes off"

"Oh, okay" they both said and waited.

"Oi! Hop on. Papa says he'll take you to the Elf forest" Oila called out.

"He knows where it is?" Mica asked, confused.

"Yeah. Dragons live there"

"Okay"

They climbed up to the dragon's back and readied themselves for flight. The dragon was huge, well over 90 feet in length and 50 feet in breadth. They felt like ants on its back. Also on it's back were various green dragons. They were all siblings of Oila. Unlike their sister, they weren't accustomed to strangers.

They spent an inexplicable amount of time on the dragon's back. When he took off, he negated the wind pressure so none of them were blown off his back.

Soaring through the skies certainly had its novelty for the Kroll siblings. It was both exciting and relaxing. Alea watched them have fun as she tried to rid the nervousness in her.

It was imperative to return home but she still had to find something. She didn't know when she could return to the world. She hoped it would be sooner. She also hoped the god hunter did good on the favor she asked. The fate of their planet depended on it.

Mica suddenly gasped and pointed at something. It was a couple of rocks floating in skies connected with a huge arc which seemed to be natural. The dragon passed between the arc and the scenery changed.

What they saw could only be explained as a forest floating in the skies. It looked a lot like the Kroll kingdom except it was in the sky. The tree was also a weird color, a deep shade of blue.

"What's that?" Terron wondered out loud.

"Home" Alea answered simply.

The dragon dropped them off on a platform and flew away. Oila waved them goodbye till they disappeared in the horizon.

"Which way to your home?"

"Hold on Mica. They're coming"

"Who's coming?"

"Them"

Alea points at a group of approaching elves. They are all female, dressed in white togas and flower crowns. Their faces are solemn as they approach the three.

"Your highness, welcome back" The one in front says.

"Thank you Alindre. It's nice to be back"

"Your highness. Please forgive us for letting you get lost. It's all our fault. We deserve nothing but death" Alindre says and all the elves fall to their knees.

Terron and Mica look to Alea but her expression is frigid.

"Yes, you all deserve death. I was kidnapped by the order of the Sun Elves and made as a sacrifice to Ituli. I suffered for years like a mere mortal. However, I won't judge you myself. I leave the judgment to the rules"

"Yes, your highness" they all say in defeat.

"Take us to the temple. Time is of the essence"

"Yes, your highness" Alindre says and leads the way. The rest of the elves follow behind them.

The temple of the elves has a huge door and it's extremely long. Yet, it was pushed aside by two moderately built male elves. They all walk inside and the only source of light is the two moons above.

There's a pool in the middle of the temple which perfectly captured the position of the moons. In front of the bewildered siblings, Alea stripped down till she was fully bare and walked towards the pool.

"Thank you both for following me back home. In turn, I shall reward you with three wishes each. All you have to do is look at the smaller moon and make your wish. You can make them after I'm gone. Use them wisely" she says as she walks.

She enters the pool slowly and a gentle wind began to blow. The siblings went to the edge of the pool and only saw the reflection of the smaller moon inside. Alea's body was nowhere to be found in the crystal clear pool.

When they looked to the sky, the two moons were shining brightly.

"The daughter of the moon has returned home, back to the skies" Alindre informs them.

"Come with me, I'll take you two home"

"Okay. Thank you" Terron replies and guides his sister out of the temple.

Meanwhile, on a mountain in the Quitri continent, Queen Kohra stood at the peak, holding an aged scroll. She stared at the sky to see the two moons shining brightly the first time in 22 years and smirked.

It seemed the end of the story, was only the beginning.
