"Oh Adam, you just have the best decision in your life"
In just a snap, the whole room was covered with pitch-black smoke. But it wasn't suffocating, rather it gives a soft oriental scent that makes his whole body light. He was like floating in the air but his feet in on the ground.
"This is gonna be a very long story, so I advise you to sit"
A long time ago, about 800 years ago, sinful souls were given the chance to atone for their sins. A second chance to go to paradise, and becoming a genie is the way to do so. Their job is to grant wishes to humans, helping them in their lives. Each genie has this called a 'lifespan', a number of wishes they need to grant in order for them to enter the heaven. The number will depend on how greater the sin they have committed when they are still alive. The more sinful a genie is, the greater number of wishes they need to fulfill.
Just like humans, genies also have laws to obey, in order to maintain the balance in the world. There are many rules that need to follow, but they are bind with three golden rules. These are the most important thing a genie must obey.
1. No genie can grant a humans wish for more or additional wishes.
2. No genie can kill or bring back someone from the dead. They are not God, they hold no power to do so.
3. And no genie can make someone fall in love or vice versa.
Every wish has consequences, if one disobeyed, they will automatically be punished. If there re golden rules, there are also golden punishment if a rule is broken. There is what they call the "Eaqad Punishment", when a genie committed a minor crime. Locked up in their lamp for ten years. And "Miat Eam Punishment", when a genie break the golden rules. They will experience a century locked up in their lamp, with unending winter, no magic, no food, no shelter. A perfect description of suffering and the worst nightmare a genie could ever experience.
"My case Adam is very different. I have disobeyed one of the golden rules and I was locked up in my lamp for almost two hundred years now. But because of your blood, I was able to set free from that prison. Normally, signing a contract with a genie, all they need is a fingerprint, but in my case, I needed a blood compact"
"You said that it takes only a hundred years, why are you locked up there for almost two hundred years?" Jin looked at him. What happened to Jin in the past is something that she would never want to tell anyone.
"Adam, at this moment, I'm the one whose needing your help"
"Not unless you tell me first" Jin let out a sigh, she's running out of time.
"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you, but one thing I can only say, if I couldn't find a master within 30 days, I will be gone for good" Its been 3 weeks since she was out of her lamp.
"Jin, promise me one thing. I will help you, I will sign the contract and in return, you will tell me your past when you are ready" Jins eyes met Adam's. For the first time since she was out of the lamp, she saw a man inside of him, she felt a warm assurance from him, that makes her want to trust him. A smile was formed in Jin's lips as she pulled a golden scroll from thin air. It was the contract. She opened it as she turns the ink into a small blade. Jin reached Adams's hand and cut a small wound using the blade. But he felt no pain.
Jin's lips touched the dripping blood from his hand kissing it. There were no words, but Adam can already hear from her 'Okay, I promise'. He smiles reaching the blade and create a small cut in Jin hands.
A blinding light comes out from the golden scroll as they both drink the dripping blood in the hands of each other. And those blood engraved in the scroll, red as their blood and disappears. The contract has been made. Jin suddenly passed out when the light vanished.
"Hey Jin!" It was because of Adams reflexes that able him to catch her and prevent her from falling unto the floor.
Adam place her in his bed. His eyes clearly saw the golden chains that were locked in her wrists and ankles. There was something engraved in it, an ancient character that he had never seen before. He wanted to touch it, but before he could do, it disappears. Adam looked at Jin.
"Whatever happens to you, I surely wanted to find out"
