Their initial plan to rob the youth and then make him ask to beg for mercy had seemingly failed. They were still running after him to save some face from the humiliation of being slapped by a youth.
They were all heavily panting, gasping for breath. But they could not stop for even a second. If they did, weren't they just making fun of themselves?
They were at level two and chasing after a level one, could they show that they were tired of simply running.

"They are still coming strong, what's the plan?" the chaser chuckled and asked Qiao. He was getting involved in this matter by his own choice and he had well thought about it. If his team leader threw him out, he would not mind since he had already made up his mind to leave the team which did not bother to save him.
