The blow which was used to kill the monster gave him two hundred experience points at once. This was unheard of.
Usually a single blow gave five to ten experience points, depending upon the performance and the dexterity limit exhibited by the hunter.
Qiao was able to kill a monster that was almost reaching level three in a single blow, which was extremely difficult. And the reward was fitting for this single blow, two hundred experience points straightaway.
Dexterity limit was the factor behind the blow or attack and it solely be contingent on the hunter and his level.
Qiao was not some professional hunter or chaser so what brought this abnormal strength to his attack was the will to not lose the chance. To not disappoint his younger brother. And to definitely one day meet that bully who turned his life up-side-down in one day.
Normally a human would die immediately with severe injuries and blood loss like Qiao had accumulated right now. But a hunter was different as his earned experience points would not let him die. Unless someone more powerful attacks him in his unconscious state, to reap his life.
Or two weak hunters started to brawl with each other recklessly, leading to a decrease in their experience points significantly. In such a state, if a hunter happened to face a monster, he would be killed immediately.
But in this scenario, two hundred points were a lot for a zero level.
After half a day, Qiao came back to conscious due to the burning odor emitted by the remaining parts of the monster's body.
He took support of the near wall of the cave and surveyed around him, to make sure that the cave was safe for him if he stayed a little more.
Qiao then noticed some bright crimson crystals near the monster's carcass. These exceptionally lit stones did not match to the surrounding here at all. As far as he could remember, there was only reckless fight between weak humans and a strong monster in this gloomy space. Then from where did these crystals appear out of nowhere? Thinking this, he walked closer to take a look.
Even when he shook aside these thoughts, these stone seemed valuable to him. So he gathered them all and placed them in his leather bag. A few of them were kept in his hand to ask someone if he met about the exact use of this stone.
Then he moved to look at his own condition and was frightened out of his wits. One would wonder how on earth he was still alive, as it was strange to him.
Not just this, everything that happened was strange.
Then he remembered the warning of the voice and regained his composure. He does not have much time to dawdle on this and that.
He has to leave the cave and learn how he should increase his levels.
And from levels he remembered the token which was around his neck. He picked it and observed only to get another shock.
He clearly remembered that it was a blank token when he last observed it, then how on earth there was a mark of two hundred shining on it now. Well a bystander would not see it, only the one who has his name carved on the backside could read it.
Qiao walked out of the cave, his temporary weapon was in his right hand and the five crimson stones were in his left hand.
As he stepped outside, dense sunlight hit his face, making him blink his eyes several times to adjust to the sharp light.
The cave was sparse of any light so he was not aware of the time that had passed.
When he was forcefully sent here, it was near evening, 'So does that mean that after killing the monster, I was unconscious for the whole night?' he asked to himself and shrugged, there were more strange things than this one.
For example, how he was alive still.
....
Outside of the cave was a path for other hunters to pass by and reach the different parts of the forest. But this was not some green forest, instead it seemed that many years has gone since when the last rain fell on the leafless trunks of the trees.
Two level one hunters spotted the youth who was injured completely, they pitied him because they could clearly see he was a zero level which was actually not a level in all sense.
Then their eyes scrutinized what was in his hands. They disregarded the shapeless weapon, as it did not seem at all like one but their eyes sparkled when they noticed his left hand.
"What is there in his left hand?" one asked to the other.
If they remembered correctly, this cave belongs to an angry level one monster, it was notorious for its anger and frightening rate of increasing levels if someone happened to irritate it.
So it was impossible for level one chasers to hunt this monster in first place.
Only those who were tired of their lives would think to hunt it.
But the perks meant a lot and many lost their lives in their greed for the rewards.
They could recognize the crimson crystal, these crystals were as notorious as the monster who bear them.
"Is it that few level one hunter happened to hunt that monster...and for a sacrifice they chose a zero?" the one who observed the crystals murmured.
"But there is no one around and the zero seems to have survived alone," the other pointed at the tattered condition of the youth.
They both looked at each other and there was glow in their eyes.
They could easily snatch them.
That was true, Qiao was severely injured and currently bear only two hundred experience while these two chasers were level one.
They could run fast, could give a powerful blow in one punch. They had all the advantage.
Also their current experience points were five hundred, half way through second level.
....
Qiao was still deciding which direction he should choose when two people ran towards him and grabbed his left hand. They snatched the crystals from him and ran with the same speed.
One of them gave a hard blow to Qiao who stumbled back and fell. Before he could get up and give a chase, they had disappeared.
This sudden event left Qiao speechless, for now he could tell that the crimson stone were really valuable treasures.
And he clearly saw their faces despite their fast pace. Now he had his first grudge to settle after he had gotten rid of his present ignorance about this world.
