From Princeton Road, Elle drove towards National Highway. It was traffic. When the traffic light turned green, she pushed the brake and drove like she was in cloud nine. Her stereo car was so loud that she sang at the top of her lungs. She was like floating in the air. She could not imagine her mixed up emotions inside. She felt so excited to every situation especially when it came to Andrew. She kept on singing while driving and when she swerved to the left, she came across with a black SUV like hers. She almost lost her balance that she did her best to avoid that accident coming unexpectedly towards her. Her head banged on the steering wheel when her car bumped on the cemented wall. The front glass of her car broke. She lost her senses.
"Good evening, Mr. Smith." The other line said. "Your daughter is in the hospital right now. She caught in an accident. "What? Is she alright? Where is she now? We're coming now. Mr. Jerry Smith asked. He was so worried on a Christmas Day. "She's in Dale Hospital right now. By the way, I'm Police Chief Officer Paul Regis. There's a witness who called our station and told us everything she saw." The Police said. "Okay, thank you, Sir. We're on our way now." Mr. Jerry Smith said. He was trembling. "What's the matter, love? What's happening?" Mrs. Bess Smith asked. She suddenly felt nervous. "Elle got an accident, love." "What? Now, let's hurry up now!" Mrs. Bess Smith said. She suddenly cried. She called Andrew and told him the news. Andrew hurriedly drove to Dale Hospital as soon as he told the message to his Dad. His Dad told him he would follow after he cooked the dinner.
"Why it happened to you, Elle, my baby? Why?" Andrew said angrily as he made his way to the hospital. "I should have drove you home, Elle. It's all my fault I let you drive alone!" Andrew shouted. He was angry with himself. He looked at the passenger seat beside him and reminisced the presence of Elle. "Please stay alive, Elle. I cannot live without you. Oh God, please heal her!" Andrew thought to himself as he parked in the parking area of the hospital. "I promise you, Elle, I will always drive you wherever you want to go. I will not allow you to drive alone." Andrew wiped his tears and took a deep breath. He got out of his car and headed towards the Nurse Station and asked Elle's room number. The nurse told him that Elle Smith was still in the Emergency Room. Andrew thanked the nurse and he went towards the right side corner of the hospital, it was still on the ground floor. When he saw the Emergency Room from afar, he found Elle's parents sitting outside the room. They were talking to a Police Officer. "Uncle Jerry, Aunty Bess, what happened to Elle?" "Okay, Mr. Smith, we'll just call you." The Police Officer said and he went away. "What happened, Aunty Bess? Please tell me." Andrew said with teary eyes. Mr. Jerry Smith told him everything that happened. "It was not Elle's fault. She did the right thing to avoid that drunkard guy who caused her the accident." Mr. Jerry Smith said, patting his back. They waited for the doctor to come out to give them the condition of Elle. "It's all my fault, Uncle Jerry! I should have drove her home. Next time, I will not allow her to drive alone. I'm so sorry, Uncle, Aunty, for what happened." Andrew said. He was so nervous and trembling too. "It's not your fault, Andrew. We all know how careful Elle is when driving. But there are just external forces that we can't control." Mrs. Bess Smith said. "Elle will survive this. She is a strong woman." Mr. Jerry reassured them.
