Chapter 14 - THE MARRIED MAN

Phyllis has decided to give love another chance and she is so sure of meeting the man she would spend the rest of her life with. She decided to let her guard down not because she was ready to settle for just anyone but to give men the courage to approach her since She's been told men are afraid to approach her because of how she carries herself.

On one beautiful Wednesday evening as she was in a bus going home, a man joined the bus and sat beside her. He exchanged pleasantries with her as he sat down. She responded with a smile as she also tried to shift to make the man comfortable in his seat. They got into a conversation when the man saw that she was reading a novel he's already read. According to him it was one of the best romantic novels he's ever read. They discussed the characters in the book as well as the story line and related it to their experiences on love and relationships. They laughed over some of their experiences and also advised each other before Phyllis got down.

Few weeks after their first meeting, they met again in a hotel where she was lodging for a business meeting. He approached her and they

had lunch together and exchanged phone numbers as he left. Later in the evening, he called to check up on her and thanked her for giving him the opportunity to spend time with her. They spoke for sometime and they both hanged up. They became close with time and later their friendship grew into a beautiful relationship. It was an exceptional one and her best relationship ever.

They went on dates and vacations together. He also spent a lot of time with her especially in the evenings but he never spent the night with her except when they had travelled. He never took her to his house with the excuse that, he lived with his parents and they frowned on sex before marriage so he could only take her home only when they're ready to settle down. She agreed to this and they lived happily though they faced challenges and had issues. They never allowed their misunderstandings ruin their relationship.

On the day of her birthday, he took her to one of the most expensive restaurants in the city and they wined and dined with so much joy. He then took her to a hotel to spend more time with her before he went home. As they entered the room he booked, he saw that the bed was decorated with flowers which had been arranged into the shape of a heart and with a flyer asking her to marry him. As she turned to look at him, he saw him kneeling with a ring in his hands. He asked her to marry him and she said yes as she burst into tears. She calmed her down and then he hugged her and started kissing her as he rubbed his hands through her hair. They both went to the washroom to shower and romance there.

He then carried her to the bed and began to suck her breasts while he fingered her. He then sucked her clitoris and then licked her vagina until she was wet. He lied down and then he sat on him with her vagina facing his mouth and her mouth facing his penis. They both licked and sucked each other until they were both horny. He then asked her to sit on his penis while he inserted it inside her vagina. He rubbed her clitoris as he fucked her and she began to moan while calling out his name. They changed positions after a while. He asked her to bend on the bed and stretch herself as he fucked her from behind. He fucked her real good as they both began to moan. He fingered her again for sometime and then requested that she lied down as he lied on her and fucked her until they both came.

They both washed down and he dropped her to her house before he went to his house. He told her not to call him that night because his phone had a low battery and he was yet to charge it. They hugged and wished each other a good night before he left for his house. Phyllis had used his picture as her phone's screensaver after he proposed to her. She went on a lunch break with one of her colleagues and gave her phone to her as she went to the washroom. When Phyllis came from the washroom, her colleague looked hard at her and showed the picture on her screensaver to her and asked her who the man was. Phyllis smiled at her and told her that was her fiance but her colleague shouted at her and asked if she knew the man well.

Phyllis was confused at her friend and asked her what was wrong with her because she was so angry after Phyllis told her, the man on her phone is her fiance. She sobbed for sometime and told her that, Francis was her cousin's husband and that her cousin had been complaining about her husband's changed behaviour and had been suspicious of him having an affair. Her friend then went to her phone's gallery and showed Francis' wedding pictures to her. She was in denial for sometime before she accepted it. She cried her heart out not only because she's been lied to again but for the fact that she was unknowingly breaking another woman's home.

She sent messages to Francis to break the relationship with him but he didn't respond. As she sent down to reflect on their relationship, she got to understand why he never took her to his house or spent the night with her except when they travelled. She realised she had been a fool and that no matter the experiences she's had she was still making mistakes. He came to her house in the evening to convince her to give him time to divorce his wife so that he could marry her but that even made her more angry because she had never wanted to break another woman's home especially when there were children involved so she sacked him out of her house. She had always hated broken homes since they mostly have negative effects on the children.

She called her friend to apologise to her and asked her to keep her affair with Francis between them since she didn't know he was married and had broken things off with him. She agreed and told Phyllis not to be too hard on herself since it wasn't her fault. She thanked her and ended the call. She lied on her bed with sadness but couldn't cry. She couldn't believe she had not only been disappointed but also she had been fooled even with all her experiences. She went to bed with a heavy heart.
