Where am I? It's so warm~.
After having woken up in some place, I felt so comfortable and warm, that I did not bother opening my eyes at all.
Instead, I tried falling asleep again.
"Now, now. You shouldn't fall asleep again, we only have that much time left." A gentle voice above me said.
Eh? Who is this …
I slowly opened my eyes. What greeted me was a dark space filled with sparkling things. Stars? I thought, while turning around to face the one that had spoken just now.
Oh, so I'm lying on this old man's lap. Didn't I just see this guy at the shrine? I thought, calmly regarding the old man before me, while tilting my head from one side to the other in order to take in his full form.
He was wearing a white jacket that had weird black symbols in a circle around his collar bone area.
He looks strangely cool? Especially his jacket! I exclaim inside of my head, taking in more of his warm form.
His lap really was comfortable.
"Well, I'm glad you think that I'm cool and that my lap feels nice. I should at least be of that much use to my daughter, right?" The old man said.
Daughter? Oh, right. That Kurama guy said something about that.
"Mhm. You are my daughter. You are the daughter of Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths and the father of the Bijuu. Your mother was Hana, the first Matriarch of the Kitsune Clan. The kitsune clan was supposed to protect you. Though, they were probably not there when you woke up, right?"
I was all alone in some shrine that was hidden away in a cave.
"*Sigh* … so their time ended at some point. I'm sorry, my child, for leaving you alone. But now that you have my chakra inside of you, you can come to meet me in your dreams. I will teach you everything that I know. I'll even teach you the techniques of the Kitsune-Clan. They are essential for your further development."
Can we start right now?!
"Be patient. You, especially you, have all the time in the world. We have noticed that your body is special. It was probably caused because two special bloodlines mixed together. It created something new, a new species. And you are the first of your kind. I know that your soul traveled to a different space upon birth. I didn't know that back then, but I know that now. I also know that you needed to die in that other world in order to come back to this one … may I know, child, how did you die?"
Hmm. I died of an illness. I was afflicted with it at birth … the chances to ever heal were slim. Eventually I died because of it.
"Child. I know that that's not really true. I can see the half-truth in your words. Please tell me, you can tell me anything. From now on, I'll be here. Forever."
I regarded him for a while before closing my eyes.
A big tear flowed down my face as I thought about my suicide and what led to it, knowing that the old man, my father, could see it. I had noticed by now that he could read minds.
My father, upon seeing my pain, moved his arms to hug my small frame to his chest.
"I'm sorry. It is our fault that that world rejected you. But … you are home now. I'll be with you, no matter what you choose to do in this world. I'll always be with you."
He said, as he gently stroked my head.
It felt so comfortable that I quickly fell asleep in his hug.
…
Upon waking up in the outside world, I was met with the face of a handsome dark-haired boy.
"Woke up?" He asked.
I nodded, still half-asleep.
His eyes widened: "I didn't think you could actually understand me. I mean, sure … your eyes looked intelligent, but I didn't think that you were actually capable of understand our speech. That's good, it'll make things easier. You'll live with me from now on, that's what the Hokage decided. You'll be disguised as my summon. Do you understand?"
I tilted my head. No. Not really. Just let me sleep again … I want to meet my father again … I want him to hug me again …
I decided to just nod to get him to shut up so I could sleep again.
"Alright. Wear this." He said before pulling out a piece of metal connected to a cloth.
It's the same thing he wears on his head. I noticed, as he tied it around my neck.
"Perfect. Now you look just like a summon." He said smiling down at me.
I nodded tiredly, admitting that he was slightly handsome.
"It's late … want to sleep in my bed with me?" He asked.
My eyes widened. Wow, he is bold. I'm a girl now … so this shouldn't be that easily offered, right? I mean, sure, he is still quite young, so it probably doesn't matter …
I just nod to his suggestion.
Soon, he took off his clothes and lied down on his bed.
He patted the place beside him, motioning for me to come over.
Only now I noticed that I was actually lying on a desk. This is why this was so uncomfortable …
I quickly jumped down and ran towards his bed, coming to a stop again just at the edge of his bed. After another small jump, I landed on his stomach. He winced in discomfort and glared at me.
I couldn't help but smile, a fox grin appearing on my face.
I carefully walked towards his pillow and curled up into a ball, feeling my own fur against my face.
Comfortable~
Soon, I drifted off into a deep sleep, not caring about this guy anymore.
…
I met the old man again.
He taught me about the world this time. How the place I'm at is called the elemental nations. About his history. About his mother Kaguya, the Rabbit Goddess. About how I came to be called the "sleeping fox goddess". Though now I'd just be the "Fox Goddess" … since I'm not sleeping anymore. I need to say, father's jokes are quite bad, but it's okay. I love him anyway. He is so kind to me~.
And he also taught me about the abilities of the Kitsune and the abilities that I inherited from him.
Kitsune could apparently cast illusions and charm intelligent lifeforms. How exactly that works, he did not tell me.
But, he did tell me how to change my form. Apparently I have a human form, though I'll always have some kind of fox feature to go with it.
Honestly … its gotta be the tails and the ears right … like … if it's the fur, then that'd be kind of awkward.
I decided to just try it out the next time I awoke in the outside world.
Once again, I peacefully fell asleep on my father's lap.
