Chapter 113 - Chemistry part 4 - Rainbow

Rainbow could feel Gary's gaze on her but she didn't really care. She was still way to frustrated with Barry. He acted like he could control her and use her to his own advantage. He ignored how she felt completely and threw her under the bus to have the blame fall on her. Sometimes she wondered why she even stuck around anymore.

But it was simple.

If she left the stupid populars, then she would be fresh meat for a pack of starved lions. Everyone would bully her and she wouldn't have the protection of the populars anymore. She would lose the title of head girl, which was voted on out of popularity basically, and her mother would kill her.

She would be alone, scared and in pain without anyone there to turn to.

If she thought things were bad, she always reminded herself that they could get a lot worse...

"Rainbow?!" The teacher's holler cut through her body, making her flinch. She looked up at the complex question on the board and assumed that was what the teacher was making her answer. She took a deep breath, calming her unhelpful nerves so that she could think.

"The answer is sodium chloride." She answered bluntly. It was a little too blunt as the teacher scowled at yet another of her correct answers. Even though she never paid attention in class she was smart, top of the school actually. It always surprised people how she could answer a university level paper in any subject and she would get a top grade. It made the tests at this level seem so simple. Magic wasn't all bad... she thought, smirking at the teacher's face.

The teacher quickly composed themself and started to hand out the activity questions. Rainbow could feel Gary's surprised aura, next to her. It made her smile and she tucked some of her hair behind her shoulder nervously.

"Surprised?" She asked turning to watch his animated expression. He was speechless, trying to understand how she could have possibly deciphered this foreign language.

"How did you do it?" He eventually managed to spit out, after wrestling with his mind to be able to speck English. She laughed at his confused expression. His notes where a mess and from the look on his face she was willing to bet that he didn't even know chemistry was a subject until this morning.

Rainbow was about to make up some stupid excuse or tell him this was the easy part when the teacher gave them the activity sheets. They noticed Rainbow's death threats that she'd subconsciously written to Barry.

"Rainbow! What is this?!" The teacher demanded as they picked up Rainbow's exercise book. Rainbow sighed. Great. "It's bad enough that you waste precious paper with your horrid doodling! But death threats?!" The teacher yelled causing Rainbow to flinch again. She hated shouting. She was constantly surrounded by it. Then she felt the eyes surrounding her. Clenching her fists to stop her hands from shaking, she stood up and hit her hands into the table, attempting to buy some time for why she'd written such awful things.
