At first, Mikael had no idea why the other party was asking him about them for no reason, so he turned and stared at him instead.
"Eliot Ness? Well, I'm not sure I----"
Mikael was just about to say something more when realization dawned on him. He turned Officer Aragon and saw the other party smiling back at him.
"The history books tell us that the US treasury secretary, Andrew Mellon, told Ness to gather proof Capone was violating Prohibition laws. But nobody was sure if he could be successfully prosecuted. He was a slimy one."
Officer Aragon said and Mikael supported the other party's story with another fact.
"So, the Treasury and the Justice Department took a parallel path."
"Correct. They wrangled some help from Chicago's business elite and managed to convict him of income tax evasion."
The chief of police seconded Mikael and sported a look as satisfied as he might have been if he had secured that conviction himself.
