Chapter 7 - The two great swords.

Eli had immediately left the scene. He didn't want to stall around waiting for more trouble, but he now had to decide what his options were since he was homeless.

He had planned to leave his home but not under these circumstances. Ontop of this he had to find a form of earning money for food and other essentials.

He sat on the a rock he found near a great tree in the forest. He pondered on what jobs he could get to earn some money, the first thought that popped up was joining the kingdom's military. It seemed as an enticing option. I mean his father did serve for the kingdom as a captain before leaving, so it was an enticing option. In the end he decided to dismiss it.

The reason for dismissing this option was simple... He for the most part wanted to avoid trouble, in the case that the acquaintances of the person he just killed looked for him to settle their grievances.

Another option popped up why not try out for an 'Adventurer Guild'.

It perfectly suited his tastes. He could work on his own terms and get paid to do so, only problem was his limited knowledge on spells, however he planned to deal with this problem later on when he had money.

The main issue that was at the forefront of his mind was what weapon would he use. Though he had the two family swords with him, he wasn't intending to use them as his main weapons when he became an adventurer. No they mainly served a different purpose.

He could buy a cheap sword but he thought of such swords as a waste of his time, he could purchase a enchanted sword.

Enchanted swords were swords made with properties that allowed the user to influence them with mana or spells.

He recalled a story that Ai had told him whilst he was young, a tale of the hero who sealed away the demon lords. He was uninterested in the story itself but he did recall the hero possessed two legendary swords. He had planned before to look into such a matter, it appeared as though this was the time.

The swords were unique in that no person had ever been able to claim them. One of the main reasons why was due to the tales that they devoured the mana of whoever possessed them. This was a death sentence to many but not to himself.

All that was required was transportation to get there and also actually locating the damn things.

The two swords were said to be in the dragon plains. This put off a majority who tried their luck at obtaining the two legendary swords. The Dragon plains as the name suggested was were dragons resided.

Thankfully the kingdom hadn't seen a dragon incursion for quite sometime thanks to the 3 great dragons that ruled in the plains. These 3 dragons maintained a relative peace between the kingdoms that boarded the plains. This of-course didn't guarantee that there wouldn't be an incursion but so far the kingdom had seen none for quite a number of years.

The problem that Eli faced wasn't where the swords were situated but rather how to get there.

At that very moment he remembered that he did know someone who could be the answer to this very issue. As he stood up, he transferred into his empowered state and poured a huge amount of mana into the ground right next to the tree. After what seemed like a minute had passed there was a gentle breeze as the leaves formed into a mini vortex and with a flash of green light a forest spirit appeared.

Heidi Pinesong appeared before Eli. She had kept a watchful eye on Eli ever since she had received a vision all those years ago about him. She had met in person with him a couple of times and witnessed a glimpse at the power he possessed, ever since then she tried whenever she could to help Eli. As a forest spirit she felt it was her duty to do so, since it was her that found him when he was in her domain.

Heidi gave a small bow upon seeing him "How can I be of service?" she asked curiously.

Eli got straight to the point and asked: "Do you know the resting place of the two great legendary swords?"

Upon hearing this Heidi felt a surge of happiness. She would be of use to Eli.

"That is a simple task. Luckily for you the place where the two swords rest is near a forest, getting you there shouldn't be a problem." She spoke almost busting at the seems with excitement. This was one of the few times Eli had ever asked for her help.

For a forest spirit they could simply traverse in between great distances using their ability to jump from forest to forest. They usually used each forest as a beacon point allowing them to relocate to forest to forest. However the accuracy of this travel method totally depended on 3 main variables.

The first variable: There had to be a memory of a place u were going to in the actual forest.

The second one could be substituted if the first couldn't be used: You could use any large external mana as your waypoint. What this meant was that if there was a place within the forest where huge mana was being expelled, then you would simply be attracted to it like a fly being attracted by the aroma of sh*t. How ever using the second option didn't guarantee u wouldn't be spawning one's-self into trouble.

The third was if there was a forest spirit in that particular forest you could simply use them as your beacon.

However the forest they were in was great in size. It extended into the dragon plains and at the very edge, awaited Eli's prize. It was also one of the few ways quite a few had used to navigate to that prize but the great forest wasn't without its dangers.

Eli paused for a while before responding.

"These two swords why have they never been claimed? I understand that the area they reside in may scare off most, but it won't scare all."

Heidi carefully explained the obstacles that awaited him not that she knew much. Heidi was confident that the two swords would definitely end up in Eli's possession, the real question was how long the obstacles in place would delay him.

After Heidi's speech Eli finally spoke: "Well, what are we waiting for." And with that a flash of green leaves enveloped both of them.
