The older male jumps into the crowd of people. Just like his brother, he slowly stalks towards her location. Meri knew she would have zero chance of escaping if both of them saw her.
The younger man keeps a close eye on her, while the second comes up to her right.
They are trying to corner me! I gotta do something!
Before the brother could reach her, she sprung up into action. Her little legs take off running. Her mind didn't have a change to stabilize. She had to get back to the beach. Her father would be able to keep her safe, right??
"Wait! Don't run!" The smaller creature shouts, but his warning went right past Meri's ears.
She pushes past the clutter of people. Right now, all that mattered was getting away. Being rude by shoving people, was the very last thing she was concerned with.
The gravel under her feet soon turned into sand. She was getting closer to the beach. Meri's chest is flooded with a wave of relief, when she finally sees the shoreline.
"Dad!!" She screams.
Meri hadn't turned around the whole time she was running, but she could hear the tremendous sound of their footsteps.
How close are they? Sh-Should I turn around?
She shakes away her thoughts. No! No way! Looking behind her would only slow her down! She was so close! The smell of the beach welcomed her with wide arms. God how she misses it. A smile swells across her lips.
Meri opens her dry mouth to shout for her father again, but her wrist was snatched out of the blue. She is harshly jerked backwards. The sudden movement gave her a small case of whiplash. Four long arms trap her torso against something hard. It doesn't take long for her to realize what just happened. Her arched back was shoved against a heavy breathing chest.
"DAD!" She screams again, this time filling her lungs with desperation.
A large hand gently slaps around her lips. She thrashes her head around, trying to knock his hand off. Everything was happening so fast!!
"You caught her?!" The younger male trots behind them, panting from all the running. "No way! This is unbelievable! I can't believe it!"
He looks over his bother's shoulder, trying to get a better look at Meri. It felt like they had caught an extremely rare treasure. He brushes his hands in his hair with excitement. Meri was beautiful.
"Keep your voice down." The older male hisses, "She was calling out for her father. He might still be around."
"Then we need to leave! Let's take her home!" He claps his hands. The idea of taking her home was absolutely thrilling.
Meri felt like she was a new toy they just found. They weren't talking to her, but about what to do with her. She tries bitting down on his hand, but it had zero effect.
"That's the plan idiot." He tightens his hold on Meri, almost strangling her with all his arms.
She watches the comforting view of the beach disappear, as he turns towards the woods. Meri starts kicking her legs, painfully digging her heels into his stomach. Meri didn't want to be dragged into the woods. Who knows what they would do to her?!
"Can I hold her on the way home!?" The young brother reaches for her, but his bother swats his hands away.
"No."
He grunts in disappointment. It was obviously he wanted to cuddle her like a baby. Getting rejected by his bother hurt, but he knew he was the alpha.
"But can you hold her legs together? I need to restrain her." He adds, watching her heels continue to dig into his stomach.
"Of course!"
Quickly his grabs her feet, somewhat lifting her in the air. The older man begins to pull white soft string from his fingertips. If Meri wasn't panicking, she would've stared in awe. It was almost like magic! He was pulling webbing out of nowhere.
"Don't touch me!" She hisses.
They ignore her and start wapping her legs up with the mysterious white webs. The younger male uses this advantage to rub up her legs. He was fascinated by her soft skin. Meri was the first female in his species he had ever came across. Simply touching her was arousing.
"M-my name is August." The younger creature chokes, still drawing a path down her leg.
Deep down he wanted to skip names, but he was curious about her. Meri couldn't care less about names. She was going to try and escape the next chance she got.
"My brother's name is November." He points behind Meri, trying to get her attention on him. Meri doesn't turn around, instead she glares at August. Her eyes tried to seem threatening, but her trembling sold her out
August looks at her face, enjoying the shades of red pumping in her flesh. His bother sighs, trying to tightly tie the string together.
"What's your name?"
Meri wanted to spit at him, but that was foolish. Even if she tried, her fear wouldn't let her. Her lips were shaking too much.
"Meri." She kept it short.
November's jaw tightens. He seemed pleased by her answer. Still, he doesn't talk to her. August was taking the lead and having the conversation. He was a better socialist than him, and November knew that.
August claps his hands, causing Meri to flinch from the sudden movement.
"That's a beautiful name! It's better than August, that's for sure." He was trying his best to be friendly, but his smile was sinister.
November had finished restricting her and starts walking back into the woods. His bother trots along, humming a soft melody. On the other hand, Meri was still stuck between November's arms.
"Where are you taking me?!" Without thinking she had shouted.
Getting closer to the woods horrified her. Once she was in the cover of the trees, who would be able to find her? What happens if she can't leave? What would they do to her?
"I thought you heard." August tilts his head at her, giving her a confused look. "We're taking you to our home. I promise it's comfortable!"
"I want to go back to my father!"
Tears swell up and slowly pour down her cheeks. The idea of leavening her dad alone, was heartbreaking.
"I'm sure your father would understand!" He lied, "He had to known he couldn't harbor a female all too himself. He'll be fine by himself."
"August.." November's voice booms throughout his chest, but his words come out soft, "stop talking."
He takes his thumb and swipes away her falling tears. November was the most intimidating creature Meri had ever seen. The fact that he showed a small hint of tenderness shocked her. August couldn't help but frown.
"Females cherish family members. You should know not to talk about her father, or any of her relatives." November continues to scold August, who was looking at the ground.
Once again he was talking about Meri, as if he had read about her on a textbook. Where female spider-kin that simple?
"Sorry. I forgot." August hangs his head with shame, "Do you think she'll like our home?"
Ugh stop talking about me as if I'm not here!
Meri was swallowed in angry thoughts, but she still couldn't bring herself to say them out loud.
"For the first few months, probably not." November pats the top of head. "It takes awhile for a female to adjust to new surroundings."
During their pointless conversation, trees cover up the bright blue sky. She was exactly where she didn't wanna be...
Deep in the woods.
