Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Physical and Mental Examination

Kray and Chester entered their assigned examination room after they got pinned a number onto their chest by the facillitator just outside the room. As they enter, it was bustling with enrollees, about 80 of them, sitting on the seats. These people are qualified to be examine.

They are mostly gossiping with each other as the examination hasn't even started.

The school has three examinations before you are fully enrolled in the school.

First, Physical examination and Mental examination. Of course, combat talent and support talent would have a different standard of qualifying as combat centric people would tend to be physically fit compared to support centric ones so there will be a difference between talents, physical examination is based on the stats. After physical examination is the mental examination. The mental examination, however, its standard is the same all throughout. It is to make sure that the enrollees are not mentally unstable. The adventurer profession is a dangerous task so one must be mentally prepared and mentally strong. Mental examination is based on the debuff of the enrollee and how severe it is.

The second test is measuring your capability according to your talent. It is to measure how well the enrollees understand their talent and how they utilize every bit of their talent. Basically, they are grouped into 4 and will be fighting against another group. There is no compensation in winning nor is there a penalty in losing, win or lose if execution is substantial, they will be graded properly. Mostly, once you are grouped, they will be your party in the entire duration of the school year. Most party does not disband even after the entire course in the school due to being already comfortable with each other as well as the camaraderie between each other.

Lastly is the Hunting Examination. Number one thing for an adventurer to fully grasp is improvise and should fully communicate well with other adventurers in a party. Adventurer will be willing to compromise on whatever they have, also of course to properly strategize when deemed necessary. It is by knowing your strength and weaknesses that they can protect themselves and cover themselves and even improve themselves, that is the number one purpose of the exam.

These three exams will help the school on how to properly guide their enrollees to help them become great adventurers.

Though passing the qualifications already fixed their enrollment but these examination will deliberately properly group the students who will have potential to be great and also nurture who are still lost and needed more guidance.

Kray and Chester looked for a free space to sit and waited for the examination to start.

A bald guy saw them and approached them. Of course, Philip Hammers will continue to pester them even after elementary and even during between time frame, if there is a free time on hand, he will take the opportunity to pester them.

"Wow. How did Talentless over here cheat the crystal ball? You using your mama's title? Awww. Mama, I want to be an adventurer just like you." Philip teased using a baby voice,

"Philip, do you want to go at it? We would never back down!" Chester exclaimed as he stood uo, grabbing the attention of nearby people,

"Go at it? When have you guys ever won against me? A talentless and a lyre kid? Pffft. You guys won't even survive outside Tigwa." He boasted,

"Well. See about that." Kray calmly said,

Seeing that Kray wasn't affected, he got irritated but he didn't probe any further. Philip doesn't want to be thrown out of the room just because of Kray and Chester, he knows in his heart that these two are weakling. He continued walking away to where he was seated, still looking down at people.

Chester flip Philip at his back then returned to his chair.

A man then stood at the stage at the front of the room with a microphone in hand.

"Ahem. Ahem. Enrollees. We will start the examination. First up is Physical and mental examination. Once your number is called proceed to the booth just outside of this room. 1!"

Chester and Kray checked the number pinned on their chest.

"D-76... We still have a long way huh?" Chester sighed,

"Ms. Castle told me that Physical and Mental examination procedure is fast. The second and third are the longest so it won't take too long for us to be called." Kray said as he looked at the number on his pinned that says 'D-77' .

"5!"

...

"76! 77!"

After about an hour long wait, only three enrollees are left in the room, Kray, Chester and another dued though, their numbers are next.

"Finally. I thought I would have to sleep." Chester whined,

"It wasn't even that long." Kray chuckled.

The both of them stood up and went outside, a booth stood still and a beautiful lady sat down on a stool, checking a list in hand.

Her straight green hair carresses the smooth jade-like fairness of her cheeks. The long and slender fingers held a pen as it slowly and tenderly tap her cerise and luscious lips. The loose lab gown that she is wearing still exudes her volomptious body and even present her rich twin peaks pretty well. She exudes majesty that made the maniacal Chester to gulp a mouthful as if the world stood still. Even the white hair of Chester stood still in steam.

Chester and Kray went in. The doctor gestured Chester to sit down.

"Chester Note. Hmmm..." She tapped her clipboard,

"Take your shirt off..." She said to Chester,

"Ah... Ahh... What?" gone stiff, Chester stuttered in place, feeling confused and surprised,

'Is this the day that I will finally get to be with a woman as beautiful as Doctor Beautiful here. Heaven here I come' Chester thought, locking both his hands in prayer,

She looked at him with a glance,

"Your shirt. Off." With a firm tone,

"Ye-yes, Ma'am." Chester said,

"You are physically fit and no discernable abnormality. Hmm. Hmm. You are mentally stable, no notable history of mental issues, no debuff integrating in you currently. You are good. You can wear your shirt now and proceed to the gymnasium." She said,

"Ye-yes, Ma'am." Chester stood in dissapointment yet walked as if his joints are frostbitten. He exited and waited for Kray outside, he constantly gave a glance here and there to the beautiful doctor.

"Sit down." The doctor gestured Kray to sit,

She looked at the clipboard with Kray's physical and mental profile.

"Kray Box. Oh. The foster child of The Fortress of Florence. How interesting?" She smirked as she looked at him,

"Take off your Shirt." She said, as he heard it, he took off his shirt.

"Hmm... Wow. Well built. Compared to your average combat talent builds. Your physical structure is slightly better. Must be the training conducted by the Fortress of Florence, isn't it?" She said impressed with a hint of a seducing voice, though not intentional but still seductive.

With a flushed cheek, he still replied with a firm tone.

"Yes, Ma'am."

She flipped the page to the next page.

"Hmm... Oh..." With a face of surprise, her facial changed to something of concern,

"You have a trauma of holding any type of weapon?" She asked,

"Umm... Yes, Ma'am." He replied as he lowered his face,

"No wonder you end up leveling unarmed. Must have been hard for you." She didn't probe any further. She can start asking him slowly after he completes his examination. This kind of mental illness should be slowly opened up until he is comfortable at him and should also be conducted in private. She continues.

"Not really Ma'am. Well... At first it was but Ms. Castle is pretty motivational that just makes me do it." He said as he scratched the back of his head with a shy smile,

"Good. Atleast it is helping you. You can now wear your shirt back." She said, another enrollee entered the booth and stood a few feet behind Kray. Kray wore his shirt back.

"Hmm... Overall, you passed this examination. Of course, we cannot just ignore your illness so when you are not enrolled, let's slowly try dissecting it in order to create a proper prescription. Okay?" She asked,

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Good, you may now proceed to the next exam." She said.

"Thank you, Ma'am." Still couldn't look at her straight, he gave his gratitude and exit the booth and onward to the next exam.

An enrollee sat down the stool in front of the doctor to be the next one to be examined. The doctor looked at the fading Kray.

'A victim of the Thread Massacre. His trauma is not too deep but could hinder him if not properly monitored and might be placed in a dangerous situation if he gets a trigger during a hunt. I would need to examine him further.' She thought.

She brought her eyes back to the next person to be examined.
