Chapter 41 - Lycans

"How is that even possible ?"

There echoed the sounds of growls from the creature almost thrice the size of a normal human, drooling with their big strong fangs and bodies covered with hairs in their werewolf form. The full moon was several days ahead to shapeshift in their complete form but they had an abnormal situation. It was as if they were forced to transform.

"Amazing, isn't it ?", the doctor asked from other side of the hall surrounded by five hungry lycans. They stood like a weapons ready to strike for the mass destruction. None was on their right mind as every single one of them wore heavy metal collar that had something to do with their conciousness.

Lycans, Matt had been curious for their existence all his life but never got the answers. He had a whole collection on any scrap of paper, book or any proof that had connection to it. Vampires had done the same thing i.e. hiding their presence from rest of the world as some often appeared in the history books but that wasn't the case for the lycans. Matt had heard the tales about them appearing on the stone ages but what he had infront of his eyes were beyond his beliefs.

The vampires as 'Vampyre' were said to be another form of the devil with fangs praying upon humans while werewolves as a 'Lycanthrope' were worshipped as the god of power and destruction by natives long before the civilization.

They are whole different species. They neither drink blood of the humans nor they have an immortal life. They have their own culture and follow own rituals. They live a normal human life in a pack and hunt together on the full moons. They follow their hearts and beliefs rather then their instincts. They master the art of controlling & overpowering their werewolf form. They walk as a pack and survive as a warriors equal to one another.

As one monster faced another, their instincts acted as fast as a speed of light initiating an urge to attack each other for the sole purpose, to dominate.

As soon as doctor backed down, the lycans jumped at them like bullets. Matt braced himself for the fight. He had his own claws of sharp thick nails forming on tip of his every fingers.

~growl~ crash~ bang~ crash~ growls~

There happened a fierce battle on a whole new level and so fast that normal eyes wouldn't be able to match it's pace. The lycans fought with all their might with vampires as the opponent. They jumped all together to devour their natural enemy.

Four of them went towards Matt and the strongest one had his eyes on Ariel as if it chose it's opponent.

Matt yanked first two as other two devoured him from the back. A single lycan could be as strong as a vampire but that didn't stop Matt form being defeated. He was both, a defender and an attacker inside the ring.

Ariel was busy on his own. He tried to flee towards him but then he was stopped. The strongest lycan neither attacked head on nor gave him an opportunity to help. It happened on repeat as Ariel started to lose his sanity.

~swoosh~ He flew right behind it's ears as the lycan seemed surprised & attacked. Taking the blow, Ariel grabed it's neck and chomped on it's nape feeding himself as it's body shrunk to normal human form and then fell on the floor.

Meanwhile, Matt had four other lycans attacking him. He was on his knees as he got serious damages from the claws on his ribs, back of his body and multiple holes on his stomach. He was loosing too much blood to regenerate the wounds.

Before Matt got the final blow, Ariel flew towards them then after couple of seconds he stood with his suit ripped here and there. His unfazed pale complexion with his long white hair was splattered with red and black. He had an empty gaze as blood was dripping from corners of his mouth. He was lost at that moment experiencing the thrill after a long time. All those centuries under the sea, he lost the count of days drowning further into nothingness yet he never felt so alive like that moment.

His wounds were already healed as if it never happened in the first place. The lycans were all on the ground after shapeshifting back to their human forms naked and unconscious as one of them was bitten by Ariel.

The doctor who filmed the whole act flinched as Ariel pierced his gaze straight into his soul. He backed as fast as he could pressing the button and automatically closing the hallway with another gate.
