YuYu searched through the previous YuYu's memories trying to find something that could potentially help her deal with Jia Yi.
'Abilities?' YuYu wore a shocked expression as more information about this world plagued her mind.
Abilities were seen as a form of power in the Underworld. The more you had, the more powerful you were recognized as. There were five tiers of abilities that YuYu knew of, the most accurate way to explain each tier would be by comparing them to a video games power ranking system.
Tier 1 - Common
Tier 2 - Uncommon
Tier 3 - Rare
Tier 4 - Super Rare
Tier 5 - Legendary
Each ability is classified by a low tier or high tier depending on its power level. Tiers 1 - 2 are the average abilities you'd see in citizens in the underworld. Tiers 3 - 5 on the other hand are abilities passed down as heirlooms by powerful bloodlines or abilities that have to be developed by doing brutal tasks.
The previous YuYu had accomplished a tier 4 ability at a young age which quickly established her name in the underworld as someone who shouldn't be offended. Although her tier 4 ability couldn't harm anyone physically, most people from esteemed families dared not show their faces in front of her, scared that their crimes would be revealed.
Her tier 4 ability was called 'Keen Eye' which was only possessed by three people in the underworld. YuYu recieved this abilities task from another user with the same ability named Ren Fu, who was somewhat like her mentor in her teenage years.
Ren Fu had decided to pass down the ability to YuYu seeing her brutal potential in killing. Most tier 4 abilities have to be passed down from one person to another to gain the ability, which is why most noble families sought out famous mentors for their heirs.
Ren Fu told YuYu the task she had to accomplish to gain 'Keen Eye' and YuYu accepted the challenge almost immediately. It took her four years to finally complete the task as she started it when she was thirteen. In those four years, YuYu's reputation grew as a tyrant who killed anyone in sight. Obviously, YuYu didn't kill just anyone, only those who had committed evil acts and had a bounty on their head.
Apart from her tier 4 ability, YuYu had twelve abilities in total. An average person's body could only handle one ability and rarely two abilities were seen. To hold more abilities you have to go through an immense amount of training and cultivate your body to handle the power from a young age.
YuYu was now an immortal who has lived for 172 years so it wasn't suprising how cultivated her body was. What was suprising was that her abilities were mostly tier 3 abilities.
The previous YuYu had studied at a renowned academy in the underworld which was famous for the amount of information they had on tier 3 abilities. Everytime a student broke through a barrier that limited their body from possessing an extra ability, they would be rewarded with a tier 3 ability of their choice.
Of course, only the most talented of people could enroll in this academy as tier 3 abilities weren't easy to gain. YuYu passed the first exam along with her two elder twin brothers who were returning for another year in the academy. As YuYu was a very powerful person, she easily broke through her barriers every few months as she stayed at the academy. She ended up with seven tier 3 abilities from the academy by the time she graduated.
The other three abilities she had were obtained as rewards that different noble families would give her when she avenged the death of their heirs. It wasn't common to just give away tier 3 abilities which was why the previous YuYu had taken lots of tasks where powerful families wanted to avenge the deaths of their children. She expected a hefty reward along with lots of money if she completed the task successfully.
As YuYu continued surveying the previous YuYu's memories, she noticed that YuYu had one ability that was quite easy to use to escape the situation she was in.
Although YuYu was clouded with anger, she was smart enough to know she couldn't take it out on Jia Yi currently. When she analyzed her body earlier, they were lots of injuries hinting that Jia Yi had pulled a trick of some sort to kill YuYu.
YuYu was known to be very powerful in the underworld, so Jia Yi obviously didn't kill her in a fair fight. Jia Yi only possessed four abilities from YuYu's Memories and they were mostly tier 2 abilities. Her only powerful ability was her tier 3 ability which was of the nature element.
Jia Yi's other two group members seemed to be her guards who only possessed three tier 2 abilities. These three people weren't formidable opponents in anyway, so how did they end up killing YuYu?
'The only memory I didn't receive was YuYu's death...' YuYu thought as she took in deep breaths to calm her anger. YuYu continued to look at the three people in front of her as she took in their features.
Jia Yi wasn't particularly stunning but she could be considered pretty. She wore a black dress with red designs that resembled the shape of Roses. Jia Yi's hair was a dark shade of brown which was pulled up into a loose bun, she had thin bangs that hung ontop of her forehead. Her hair was also adorned with red Roses like the ones on her dress. She had pale skin that was slightly tanned in some areas. Her thin lips were colored with a bright red that was matched with bright red eye makeup.
Although YuYu didn't like this woman in front of her whatsoever, she couldn't help but admire the dress she wore and how beautifully designed it was.
YuYu glanced at the other two men following Jia Yi closely from behind. They were dressed similarly to each other in black robes. Both of the lower half of their faces were covered with black cloth blocking their features from being seen. They both were also heavily injured with cuts and dried blood covering them from head to toe.
'The only one who wasn't injured...was Jia Yi...?' YuYu thought trying to put the pieces of her death together. She started growing nervous as Jia Yi and her two guards grew nearer.
'I have to get away from them first!' YuYu reluctantly thought. She remembered the ability that popped up in her mind earlier that seemed helpful in this situation.
"Shadow steps..." YuYu muttered before seeing a black shadow form around her feet.
"She can still use her abilities?! Didn't they exhaust her enough?!" Jia Yi shrieked as she grew panicked.
'They?' YuYu questioned.
