The two girls frowned in pain, as the lady's heavy hand thumped them again and again. They looked at each other and rolled their eyes.
Finally the lady released the girls from her arms and then turned to look at Eva. "You look so beautiful dear. I am sure Richard must have been praising you the entire time." The lady laughed trying to sound funny.
"I do not know about Richard, but I have been praising my little sister the entire time. " Emily intervened, trying to save Eva.
"Haha! Nice..." The lady smiled patting Emily's shoulder and just then Richard too appeared from behind them.
"Hey Emily! Sis! When did you come back?" The man spoke ecstatically.
"Hi Richard. I just came back few hours ago. How are you doing?" The girl smiled and then poked Eva's waist with her tiny finger trying to tease her.
Eva was now standing quietly as the three of them were talking. Emily was clearly trying to excuse themselves from the two, but the son and daughter duo kept talking!
Suddenly someone's voice echoed from the mike and everybody turned around to look at the stage. The mother of the two girls were standing on the stage, addressing everybody.
"We the entire Kennedy family, want to thank you all for attending this event, hosted in the honour of the brave army officers and their families. We shall be now starting the auction of several items that have been donated by many of you. The money collected through this auction, will be donated to the family of the army officers and soldiers who died fighting for our country."
Everybody clapped and then settled down on their seats. Emily and Eva too settled on the first row and besides them sat Richard and other of Eva's college friends. Richard kept whispering something or the other to Eva and the girl controlled her urge to punch the boy on his face.
"Ohk Richard. I think you should be quiet now. The auction has started." The girl spoke looking at the stage.
