Chereads / My Left Eye Can See Ghosts / Chapter 10 - Grimace

Chapter 10 - Grimace

The room was a bit dark, and the curtains were pulled. However, they were not fully tightened, leaving a thin slit.

Most of the light from the sun was blocked by the curtains, and as soon as you stepped in, you could feel that the room was a little chilly.

Silly Er was fully devoted to the game, playing a very popular shooting game at that time - Counter Strike (CS).

The volume wasn't too loud but there were the sounds of gunshots, grenades and the character's voice of the game.

I looked at Chubby Boy, who happened to be looking at me.

We just stood there like fools while Silly Er just ignored us.

Chubby Boy seemed embarrassed. He leaned toward me and whispered uncomfortably, "Why do I think Silly Er is weird?"

"I feel so too."

"I think we should go!"

I nodded and added another sentence, "You go first."

He was stunned, "Are you going?"

"I have something to say with Silly Er."

He looked at me in suspicion for a long time before answering, "Alright then, I'm leaving."

Before going out, he glanced at Silly Er. He saw that Silly Er was fully focused on the game and did not say anything to him, so he left.

I breathed a sigh of relief. When Chubby Boy was no longer there, I could then do whatever I wanted. As long as I hit Silly Er with my fist that had the ring, I should be able to exorcise the ghost possessing him.

Somehow, I knew I could believe in what Ming Si said.

I carefully removed the blindfold of my left eye and stuffed it into the pocket of my shorts, grabbed my left fist and approached Silly Er step by step.

He was still playing games intently.

My heart was full of ups and downs. It was very uncomfortable as I had never done this before. Even though I had been dealing with ghosts ever since I was a child, I had always been scared to tears. But this time, the situation was a little different.

The reason why Silly Er ended up this way... half of the reason was because of me. I couldn't let him be entangled by ghosts all the time.

"You better not ruin my plans."

A cold voice suddenly invaded my eardrum.

Silly Er! No, the ghost possessing Silly Er.

Panic engulfed me, rendering me rooted to the ground.

Silly Er stopped playing and slowly turned his face to look at me. His head drooped with his eyebrows raised; the corner of his lips pulled out into a weird smile. His smile had stretched all the way from ear to ear. His entire face as a whole looked very uncoordinated.

While he was still sitting on the chair without moving, I punched him in the face, and his facial expression became even more distorted. But still, the ghost did not pop out of Silly Er's body.

I was so shocked, I couldn't understand what was going on.

Didn't Ming Si say that this ring could knock out ghosts that possessed people? Could he lie to me?

Mummy, you gotta be kidding me.

I'm betting on my own life. This is not a joke.

I panicked. Silly Er still looked at me coldly, but he was not irritated by my punch, instead he gave me a sinister smile.

It was a smile that made people feel inexplicably chilled. The temperature in the room seemed to have dropped a few degrees, completely opposite to the temperature of mid summer, getting colder and colder.

I took a few steps back subconsciously, ready to run at any time.

"I'm just fooling around. Don't be angry. You go on... you go on. Don't care about me. I won't disturb you, hahaha..." I backed out with a wry smile as he sat there completely still.

I was absolutely sure that this person was not Silly Er, but the method that Ming Si told me was of no use. The only thought in my mind that time was - run!

I stepped back to the door and touched the door handle in a panic as I kept my eyes on Silly Er. I dared not show my back to him and I didn't want to imagine what he would do to me.

I rotated the door handle. The doorknob rattled a few times, but the door could not be opened.

My heart almost exploded in my chest as my temple started to throb non-stop.

Silly Er stood up slowly and walked steadily towards me.

My face was pale and my forehead was drenched with sweat.

Silly Er came to me and stood still. He appeared to be in deep thought and I suddenly felt a chill surge towards me.

He stared at me with cold eyes, and those serene and deep eyes were like the backwaters of a river, obscure and unknown.

He stretched out his hand, pulled on the curtain that initially had a slight gap. Then, he pinched my neck so hard that I could not do a single thing. I could feel my throat tighten, and my breathing get shorter and shorter.

"Silly... Silly Er, what are you doing? Let me go."

I grabbed his arm forcibly, digging my nails into his flesh, but he didn't even frown. He was still as cold as was before.

"Don't ruin my plans. Otherwise, I will kill you."

He spoke with strong intent, every word laced with ice and malice.

I felt that his grip was getting stronger and I could hardly breathe.

"I... I won't... hinder you in any way."

What else is more important than staying alive right now?

I begged for mercy; I begged him to let me go.

His eyes grew bigger and bigger. His face became increasingly more distorted and horrible. The dark eyes flipped up, revealing the large whites of his eyes. There was something sticky and red coming out.

It was blood! I could even smell the foul bloody smell.

The muscles on Silly Er's face shrank until it suddenly turned into a skinny, bloodless and pale face. What a malevolent look. I almost screamed, but my throat was pinched so tightly that I couldn't make a sound at all.

The face in front of me was no longer Silly Er's face, but the skinny man I saw in the graveyard last night; I could still remember the scene where his eyes kept rotating in its socket.

I tried to hit the man's arm with the ring on my left hand, but the ring still didn't knock the ghost out of Silly Er's body as Ming Si had said.

Despair filled my mind.

Ming Si! Ming Si! You cheated me...

My consciousness began to blur, and I could no longer breathe. I could no longer feel the existence of my body, and my brain was completely empty.

Just when I thought I was going to die, the man suddenly let go, and fell to the ground weakly. It panted heavily as its eyeballs turned black and then at the next moment white interchangeably.

At this time, the door was pushed open from the outside, making a sound that made one's hair stand on end.

"Silly Er, everybody wants to see you."

It was the village chief's voice.

Before I could raise my head, I heard the village chief's startled voice, "Isn't this Sixi? What's wrong with you?" He helped me up.

I waved my hand and after a while of panting, I was able to regain my breath. I looked at the man who almost strangled me to death, his face had returned to look like Silly Er again.

The village chief looked at me and then to Silly Er, and asked sharply, "Are you bullying Sixi?"

Silly Er put on a smiley face, "Dad, I didn't. She fell down suddenly, probably because of a heat stroke."

The village chief nodded thoughtfully, and then turned to ask me, "If you are uncomfortable, lie down here, I'll get you some ice water," Then, he got up and went out.

"No need. No need."

I hurried to hold onto the village chief, afraid that he would leave me and Silly Er alone. If I stayed there, Silly Er might really just kill me.

I said goodbye, "I'm fine. I'm going home."
