Zothiconuu's pov
As I woke up slowly; I heard a noise from inside the house. With that, I get up and walk around to see the same brat from yesterday. I don't know why she is here or what she wants but it didn't matter.
"Hey! What are you doing here!?" I said, she jumped turning to face me.
"aah! I just flew here ok!" She said as Her tail flicked around seemingly annoyed. I was confused about why she flew here but it didn't matter.
"I'll give you a good reason to leave," I said as I charged up a ki blast and aimed at her.
Xion's pov
`Why did I have to fly here of all places? With him being here no less.' His hand was raised and facing me but surprisingly I didn't feel scared by having faced many villains that threatened me like this. I just stood there facing him.
"What will you do if I don't leave." She took a stance getting ready for almost anything he would throw at her. She goes for her sword preparing herself in case he moves but noticed it wasn't on her back.
'fuck, I left without it.' She thought to herself keeping her eyes on him. His hand had a ball of ki in it aiming right at me, but I looked past that and looked into his eyes; his eyes in this light seems to glow.
'No, I can't be thinking about stuff like that.' I decided to look at his hand with the ki blast instead.
Third-person
During the time she was thinking he replied to her question taking it as a challenge. Xion had to think of a strategic way to deal with Zothiconuu now but she didn't hear him talking. So Xion decides to make an escape through the hole in the ceiling and heads back home but zothiconuu cuts her off.
"You're not leaving so soon are ya?" Zothiconuu said as he took her hands and began swinging her around before throwing her into one of the surrounding abandoned buildings. He then chased her down.
"Where did that brat go? I know I chucked her over here." He said to himself.
"Haaa!" Xion blasts Zothiconuu from above, blasting him back towards the ground. She chased after her ki blast and punched Zothiconuu continuously. He breaks her assault on him so he could have a chance to breathe but Xion wasn't gonna let up on her attempt but Zothiconuu was prepared for a second attack so it turned into what seemed like an endless clash.
Zothiconuu breaks the clash by knocking Xion into another building and then she flies upwards to avoid another ki blast. Soaring upwards while avoiding multiple ki blasts and being chased by Zothiconuu; she then realized that she can not run forever so she flips and turns around, heading towards him.
"No more running? Good!" Zothiconuu said as Xion charges at him, kicking him in the chest; causing him to fly back but he recovers. Xion starts another clash with him and intensively continues through the ruins and the rubble of this city. Xion was giving it her all but could not keep this up and suddenly realized that Zothiconuu's eyes went from red to grey and began to be unaffected by half of her punches.
"HAAAA!!!" He yells as he grabs her leg and throws her at the ground placing his foot on her chest pinning her down. He has won the battle with a ki sword to her throat and is debating on whether to leave her alive or not.
"...You have much to live for and a lot of fight in you," he says as his ki sword fades away and he lets her up.
"Defeated, I would want you to grow stronger so you can give me an actual fight," Zothiconuu said.
"But you know that I was gonna kill you," she said.
"You tried but failed, get stronger and then try again." He said as he walked away. She watched in silence as he walked away and decided to flee before he changed his mind.
Xion's pov
I flew back in a hurry but slowed down halfway home the adrenalin from the fight decreasing, my body ached from being tossed and memories of previous fights with villains came to mind. But they were soon overshadowed with my questions as I landed at a river that led into a lake.
'Why would he spare me? He killed many without a second thought… but why leave me alive?' I looked at my reflection in the water and I sat beside it.
' I didnt understand what he meant. He said get strong and thats what I'll do.' Sitting down made my body hurt more as the movement made me have to bend my body; The water brushed my knees as I put my hand in it bringing water to my mouth to drink. The cold water calmed me and I got up and hopped into the lake with my clothes on. after diving I staying under the water until I sensed familiar ki's coming to where I am.
I popped my head out of the water and I saw my parents landing." Xion! Sweety where are you!" My mother seemed panicked and my father put a hand on her shoulder comforting her. Not saying anything but he looks around.
"Mom, Dad I'm right here." I got out of the water and shook myself dry. They ran to me and my mother saw the small cuts all over me from my fight with Zothiconuu.
"Xion… what happened." My father said in a serious tone. His eyes were looking me over.
"I couldn't sleep, so I went flying and a stray demon attacked me, but I'm fine I got away from it with only scratches." I smiled, hoping to cover up the lie I just told him. He smiles at me, hugging me tightly. I was surprised at first because of it but I hugged back and Mom soon joined the hug.
"Your father went to check on you, and when he noticed you were gone we feared the worst but your father ran off to look. So I came along." Hearing my mother's worried tone brings tears to my eyes.
We headed back home after all that at the lake. My mom was bandaging and cleaning my cuts; in my opinion, kinda overdone with bandages my arms looked like a mummy; but I didn't say anything because my mom will yell at me for not listening.
Some time passed and the sun was up, my thoughts wandered back off to the fight and my chest felt weird. Like my heart was racing not with fear but the excitement I wanted to fight him again.
'I'm signing up for my death aren't I.' I said, shaking off the feeling.' I have a question for that guy.' I said to myself in my head. I made plans to head back there after dark knowing I wouldn't sleep again tonight.
Zothiconuu's pov
I returned home, or what I called my home and began to think about the fight that I just had. 'the hell was I thinking?' I pondered to myself.
'Possibly a comrade...no, a friend would be nice to have...' I continued to ponder as I sat down on the couch as I did this one of the legs gave out and snapped in half, causing me to fall sideways. I let out a sigh before getting up and wandering outside.
'I wonder if I will ever see her again.' I kept wondering before my stomach growled at me 'I wonder if I will see food ever again.' I pondered continuously before I sensed some ki nearby and I flew towards it.
I continued towards this energy and it turns out to be the brat from earlier with food." Where are you going? Do you wanna die!?" I asked as I formed a sword outta ki around my hand.
"I-I actually came to see you… considering by the looks of your house, y-you don't have much to live off of and I wanted to help you..." She said with fear in her voice and her legs also started to wobble.
"Oh… even after all that has happened earlier, you still decided to come back and help me?" I said and thoughts.about my living conditions came before my thoughts about turning her down "...I appreciate the thought, follow me and don't get any funny ideas." I said as she followed me inside of my home and she enjoyed sharing her food with me.
"So how long have you been here? O-On the planet, that is." She asked.
"I would say 6 1⁄2 months roughly," I replied, earning a shocked but questioning reply.
"oh-so?" She stuttered, "you clearly had the power to end my life and yet you chose to let me live, why-why did you let me live?" She asked before I spoke up.
"Because-you have much to live for and a lot of fight in you. You have shown to have much fighting spirit within you but remain defeated, I would want you to grow stronger so you can give me an actual fight."I replied and then asked a question of my own.
"So why did you really come back?" I asked as we both went silent. What was a couple of minutes felt like hours of complete silence until."I don't know I just wanted to fight you again." She said with a little hint of a smile on her face.
"like-sparring partners? What's your name, kid?" I asked.
"I'm not a kid! My name is xion." She retorts," and I don't want to be just sparring partners but friends." Xion says as her smile grows a bit.
"Friends? I will allow it for now" I replied as she got up. "Okay..Z.." she struggled to say my name I assume.
"Zothiconuu," I said, "Zothiconuu... I like it, anyway I should get going before my parents wonder where I am." Xion says before she heads out the door. " I'll see you tomorrow okay?" She said and waved at me and I waved back "... Yeah...see ya tomorrow." I replied and watched her leave.
'Great, I'm a babysitter now but maybe I could gain something outta this I don't know, it's probably best to play this out. It may be a poor choice but it's mine to make.' I thought to myself as I crawled on my couch and tried to fall asleep.
Xion's pov
I headed home and the sun was rising and my body felt weak as I neared my house. The little sleep I have had was catching up to me.
'I wish I could sleep-' I thought as I yawned while landing at my house. As I walked in, I heard my father as he was talking to my mom in the kitchen. It seemed serious so I just walked by but they heard me.
"Xion, you need to stop going out at night or at least tell us by note." My father said in his serious voice. I rolled my eyes walking into the kitchen and making myself a coffee.
"Don't roll your eyes at your father." My mom said calmly." Well, I'm sorry, I'm not used to having to tell people where I'm heading." I snap at them both, surprising myself in the process. They both looked at me with their eyes softened.
"I'm sorry-" my mother said, tearing up. I stopped making my coffee and rushed over to her hugging her tightly.
"No, I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap at you guys." My mom hugs back just nodding and my dad got up.
"Xion, Xenodia I have to go in for a mission I'll be back later today.`` Mom And I nodded at this, with that my dad kiss my mom's cheek and headed out. I had a feeling this mission was about Zothiconuu this kinda made me mad but I don't know why and shrugged off the feeling. I knew this little group thing my dad was in wouldn't go after Zothiconuu without info on him first.
"Sweety there's something on your mind isn't there and the dark circles under your eyes say you haven't slept for a long time." I gave my mom a shocked look as she basically just read my mind.
"Yeah, how could you tell?" Her face lit up in amusement at my question as she chuckled at her answer." A mother almost always knows. I also learned a lot about medicine and signs of sleep deprivation." I was kinda impressed but it was overshadowed by my body being really tired and I grabbed my coffee returning to sit across from my mother.
"So why don't you tell me what's wrong and why you're not sleeping." She said calmly, I just sighed and began to explain everything. From almost dying in every fight up to the night terrors i get from the fights and even Zothiconuu. She seemed shocked but she got up and hugged me. I thanked her for listening; with this talk my mother and I made food taking up most of the day in the process. During this, my mom asked if I was hungry with me being half Saiyan and how my dad eats sometimes I'm not surprised she asked. I shook my head. I was never much of an eater like my father; most of the time when I was alone, I hardly ate and went a day or more without food. Granted it wasn't healthy but I stayed alive.
"I will just have an apple mom so I don't ruin my dinner," I said, grabbing an apple off the counter and putting it in my mouth eating it swiftly with no hands as I cut up what was left of the meat.
"Done," I said, eating the core of the apple and throwing away the steam. My mom laughs at this.
"Oh kai, the last time I saw you do that your father freaked out because he didn't know the core was edible." She smiled at the memory and it made me smile as well." Yeah and he tried doing it with no hands too but he kept dropping it." As if on cue my dad walked in smiling at us as he went upstairs to change his clothes.
When he came back down the food was done so we ate. Mom stopped on her second plate, I ate three and my father ate five. Surprisingly we had leftovers. I decided to pack them up for Zothiconuu.
I told my parents I would stay up for a bit longer, so we said goodnight. Later on, after they were asleep I headed out to where Zothiconuu was staying.
After some flying, I came upon the place and landed looking around for the big guy. "Zothiconuu!" I called out kinda messing up his name as I said it. No answer I put the bag down in a somewhat safe-looking place and began to look around. As I looked around I sensed weird energy coming from over the way. I flew up a bit and saw the man in a weird form; it looked as though he was training but with a copy of himself. It was weird but I watched in awe at how powerful he was.
I hovered in the air for a long time but then I remember I brought food. As I flew down to get the food I felt his eyes on me and it made me shiver but I shook it off. I turned around and he was right behind me, his red eyes staring at me.
"For kai's sakes, learn how to not sneak up on me. Do you want me to die of a heart attack?" I held my chest a bit, he just had a smirk on his face probably thinking about how he could kill me by scaring me.
"Maybe." Was all he said and I shivered and sighed in defeat.
"Ok, whatever. I brought food again." I said as I walked passed him into the place he was staying. He just watched me and walked behind me, in the short time I knew him what fear I had started to disappear but he was unpredictable like he could lose it with one wrong thing. Let us just say the thought of it all thrilled me and the thought of fighting again somehow made me happy. I must have had a weird look on my face because Zothiconuu just looked at me pointing.
"What's with that face…" He said, lowering his hand as I shrugged not answering him. This answer from what I could see annoyed him but I started setting up the stuff to put out the food and he sat down across from me waiting for me to finish.
"Ok dig in. I already ate before coming here so have at it," I said, gesturing for him to eat.
Zothiconuu's pov
We sat on the blanket she brought as she put out all the food, she said for me to dig in and I didn't need to be told twice.
"Hey, kid." Me calling her this caused her tail to twitch being obviously annoyed by it.
"I'm not a kid; I'm 23, but what do you want?" She snapped at me, making me laugh that she was brave enough to even do that.
"You're a Saiyan. Right?" I ask as her tail stops twitching and drops.
"I'm half Saiyan. My mother is earthling and father is a Saiyan, but my father had a mutated gene causing his hair to be blue and it passed onto me." She said all this curling her tail and shifting uncomfortably in her spot she sat in.
"A halfling? hmph, no wonder you're weak, I don't know why halflings continue to exist." I said and her face became noticeably red. As she stood up.
"You should never disgrace or judge someone because of what they are-"she paused, "I may be half Saiyan but every pure blood is the same." She turned away leaving herself open to any attack from me.
"I thought maybe you might change a bit. Seems I was wrong." She said quietly by the door before leaving. Why would her words hurt more than any wound I have ever had. I sighed as I finished the food before going to lay on the now more than pasted being a repairable couch and tried to fall asleep.
Morning came and the sun hit my face from a new hole in the ceiling.' Great.' I thought to myself and I got up my back popping from sleeping on the couch. But it's better than dirt.
I walked outside the sun shining brightly but not enough to make the ruined builds look any less grey. I sighed again and my thoughts drifted back to the little brat, the halfling and what she said. It stung again but I pushed those thoughts away. But during my training, it continued throughout the day until the sun began to set and I waited for her to show but she didn't.
This was repeated for a few days until one night she came back and her tail fluffed up wildly and her hair looked like she was asleep until something awoke her, she looked stuck in her own head so I stepped closer to her causing her to jump and charge a ki blast.
"Hey, Xion, whatever has you like this isn't here," I stated, almost snapping at her. She dropped her hand and started to breath deeply, mumbling something under her breath that seemed to make her calmer.
"Sorry… something just got me all kinda-" I cut her off not really wanting to know by raising my hand and waving it dismissively." I-I-I'm sorry… for the other day what I said was out of line." As I said this she looked shocked but smiled happily.
"It's ok, and wow you actually can be nice." As she said this with that smile I felt something in my chest. Whatever it was kinda annoyed me but it may be a small smirk grow on my face.
Xion's pov
I could have sworn he was smiling but as soon as it appeared it disappeared. I stepped closer to him, me doing so causing him to stand at his full height dwarfing me but I moved closer and looked him in the eye. He looked back at me with a raised brow and I stood on my toes and gave him a quick kiss stepping back in case a retaliation happened for me kissing him. He seemed frozen but then he moved closer to me putting a ki sword to my throat.
"Why did you do that? you do know I can retract my kindness and murder you." He said pushing it ever so slightly closer, I just smiled as his face came closer. I kissed him again the ki sword faded and he returned the kiss. It got a bit heated but I broke away from the kiss needing air, his face was flushed and so was mine.
After that night we got to know each other more of the next few months; apparently, this wasn't his actual body, his real one being held by a demon named Towa, and he didn't remember anything but floating through space before waking in this body he has now. I told him about my past but left out the night terrors. In the earlier days of getting to know him decided to do something kinda dumb on my part.
"Hey, Zothiconuu." He turned to me and as he turned to face me; I hugged him. He stiffened but he started tearing up.
"I don't know the last time I was hugged by anyone…" As he said this a couple of tears fell. I hugged him tighter.
"You really aren't as bad as you make yourself seem." As I said this he punched me in the gut and I blasted him with a ki blast in retaliation." Dick! I was being nice." I began to pout after this then he spoke up after a few minutes.
"....I'm sorry..I'm not used to hospitality and kindness anymore…I cannot even remember the last time I had experienced these emotional outcomes.." he responded with stray tears running down his face and into his hand, then suddenly tightly gripped his fist.
"Even so it doesn't mean punch them. You are supposed to wrap your arms around them in return…" I said, stepping closer to him studying his body movement carefully. He seemed confused and slowly held his arms out for me. I got closer to him and wrapped my arms around him as he reluctantly wrapped his arms around me.
