A sharp hiss escaped Seraphina's lips as soon as she stepped through the Inn's door and her feet landed on the barren lands of Shadow Court.
As she looked down at her feet, she realized that a sharp and huge thorn had pierced the front sole of her shoes and probably hurt one of her toes which was throbbing in pain.
She hurriedly pulled out the thorn and threw it away before inspecting her shoe and her toe to see if she could handle the pain until she was done with her mission. And though her toe was hurting, it was nowhere near the point where she couldn't walk at all.
The thought of using a spell to heal herself appeared in her brain but she immediately pushed it away. She was nothing more than a mere mortal Princess for all those eyes that were watching her at the moment, and she wanted it to stay that way... for her own safety.
