The shocked look on Caspian's face made Roselyn chuckle and with that, both of them found themselves relaxing a little bit. Everything had turned upside down in the past few hours and so far, it's not easy to say whether things would become easier or even harder from here on.
"Thank you for saying that..." Caspian said as he took hold of her hands and pulled them away from his face so that he could hold them between their bodies that were close enough for them to feel each other's warmth. "... I finally got to hear you confess your love for me... even that's more than enough for me..."
The sadness was more than clear in his eyes even though he seemed to be trying his best to hide it behind the smile that appeared both fake and genuine at the very same time. There was a certain type of energy surrounding him that Roselyn had never felt ever before... the energy of defeat and sadness.
