"Why are you both here?" Roselyn couldn't stop herself from asking, she was that much bugged about their presence in her dormitory. Practically, it was River's dormitory too considering he was a final year student but she wanted to forget about that part.
"Nice to see you too." Prince River commented as he gave her a lopsided smile, one that she didn't like at all. No matter how handsome that dude was and how he successfully made her heart flutter with his mere presence, her mind only disliked him more and more.
Her attention was then pulled to the Crown Prince as he stood up from his seat and moved toward where she was standing near the entrance of the living room. She watched his every step with sharp eyes as her instincts didn't trust him, or either of the other two men that were currently present in the room. Scratch that! She didn't trust anyone from the entire Shadow Realm.
"What?" She asked when the man moved too close to her than she was expecting. There were barely a few inches of space left between their bodies and as their gazes collided, the undenying strong pull between their powers returned too.
Roselyn hurriedly moved her eyes away from his only to end up looking at his perfectly shaped lips. Instead of calming down, she only ended up adding fuel to the fire burning inside her as just one look at his lips reminded her of the kiss that they shared.
She could feel Crown Prince Felix's intense gaze fixed on her too while she tried to not show her inside struggle on her face. The worst part wasn't her powers reacting so strongly to these men, instead, it was them being aware of it.
There was something about these four men that called to her inner fae. Their powers, even though dark, were worthy mates to her light powers. Her powers were always ready to jump out and play with theirs even though the pendant around her neck had cut her access to her powers.
But just because her powers found them an ideal match, it didn't change the fact that they couldn't be together. Them being standing on different sides, light and shadow, would never allow them to be together. What they had between them... was forbidden, probably more than the 'No Bite' rule, and they had to end it before things would get out of their control.
Crown Prince Felix also seemed to have come to the same realization because he suddenly took a couple steps back, creating some space between them which did nothing to stop her powers from acting like crazy in his presence.
For a moment, Roselyn wondered if she could use these men to get access to her light powers but the thought was short-lived as her attention was pulled toward her baby Phoenix that suddenly appeared in Felix's palm.
"Here." The man offered her the little shadow beast that immediately hopped onto her palm and then disappeared into thin air. However, she immediately felt its essence mixing with her powers deep inside her.
"I am getting it back?" She asked as she was genuinely surprised that they were giving such a precious treasure of theirs back to her.
"We discussed the matter with the council. Even though this shadow beast should never have gone to anyone else other than my destined one, or the next heir, there's no denying that it has already chosen you as its master. There's no point in separating you both. So you will look after it and will train it." Felix replied to her question and his icy blue eyes seemed to be carrying a weird emotion that she was unable to catch in time.
River suddenly chuckled, successfully pulling everyone's attention toward him, and then, his icy-blue gaze was fixed on her as he spoke, "How surprising all this is! First, she ended up becoming my soulmate. Then she somehow got entangled with Kaito Takashi and formed a blood bond with him, and now, she has taken over the powerful pair of your Ice Phoenix that was supposed to belong to your future mate. Somehow, she has three heirs of the Shadow Realm royalty wrapped around her little finger."
If his sharp and intense gaze wasn't obvious enough about what he wanted to say, then his words definitely did the job perfectly.
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Roselyn glared at the Prince as she felt her blood boiling at the rubbish that he had just uttered.
"Am I, though?" Prince River challenged her before his attention traveled to Xander who was still sitting on the couch while silently watching the drama unfolding in front of him. "You have even succeeded in involving the fourth and the last pillar of this realm with you. Even someone like Xander couldn't stay safe from you."
Roselyn was completely lost for words and her hand itched to come in contact with the cheek of the man with as much force as she could muster. "Excellent, Your Highness. You really managed to impress me today." She spoke through gritted teeth as she glared at River with so much hatred that she was surprised he didn't end up burning into ashes right then and there.
"Now let me remind you - you are two years older than me, meaning you were the one who find out about our soulmate bond but still did nothing to cut it off for two whole years." She took a step closer in his direction as she continued.
"It was that bloodsucker who found me in the Mortal Realm and bit me against my will. If I had been the one to initiate a bond between us, it should have been an elemental bond based on our powers and not a blood bond based on the blood that he robbed from me."
"It was your council that assigned your so-called fourth pillar as my guardian, not me." She spared a glance at Xander before she turned her entire focus to the Crown Prince.
