"You are too far away. What did you say?" Primrose rotated her body and leaned forward with her hand bending her left ear towards Eros. 'I must have heard wrong just now.'
"I said I am not trying to save nor kill you. I am saving myself." Eros walked towards Primrose. He rolled his hand to form a circle and placed it by her ear. He raised his voice and replied to her question.
Shocked by his sudden closeness, Primrose dramatically gasped and stepped back. Due to the difference between his feet size and hers, her tiny feet slid out of his slipper. Her arms flung backward in slow motion. Her right leg bounced high into the air.
She squeezed her eyes tight, waiting for her back to ruthlessly strike the floor. A minute later, she did not feel the expected pain. She kicked her legs to see if she was on the floor.
"If you continue moving like this, I will drop you." Eros sounded close to her. Oddly, she did not feel his body temperature. His body felt cold.
She popped her eyes open when she heard his voice near. Her eyes wandered around before landing on his hands. She was in his arms!
Although Eros looked calm, his heart was knocking on his chest again. It was pounding as if debt collectors were chasing him to repay a large debt after bankruptcy. This unsettling feeling was so uncomfortable that he could not help but frown. This feeling slowly faded away when he held her safely in his arms.
COUGH
This slow-motion dramatic fall-and-catch scene's male and female protagonists turned their heads. Jayden showed displease all over his face. Meanwhile, Collen was scribbling something in his notebook. He had a perverted-looking smile, which made Primrose wonder what crazy idea her brother was thinking about.
"Are you two ready to separate yet? I don't have time to watch dramas. I also don't have time to watch a live-action drama. Since you're our new neighbor, and it was Primmy's fault for trespassing on your property first, we owe you an apology. As her elder brother, I apologize for her reckless behavior." Jayden sincerely apologized.
Likewise, Primrose also apologized since it was her mistake. Even though she did not believe that Eros was stargazing with Artemis, she could only admit defeat for the time being.
Collen, on the other hand, had rainbows in his eyes. "Welcome to our neighborhood. My name is Collen Smith, and this stinky tofu four eyes is our eldest brother, Jayden Smith. You've already met Primrose. We all call her Primmy. Today is her birthday. Would you like to have dinner with us since you're already here?"
Collen invited the handsome neighbor without asking the other two in the room. He seemed to have his eyes set on Eros. Primrose could see the fierce flames exploding in his eyes.
Jayden turned back and realized he had not closed the door just now. He could care less about Collen's fancy ideas. He only cared about Primrose's safety and how to reprimand her later.
"Mister.." Before closing the door, Jayden saw the unclosed door to Eros's condo.
"Eros. You can call me that." Eros introduced himself.
Jayden nodded. "Your door is still opened...." A tiny creak caught his attention. He lowered his gaze to the source of the sound. He saw a bunny playing dead on a beach chair between the door gap. Meanwhile, a hamster blew air at the bunny as if trying to wake it up. A cat sat on the side, watching the scene unfold, occasionally patting its mouth.
Although it was impossible, Jayden thought the cat was mocking the hamster for a second. When the three musketeers felt someone staring at them, they looked up and met Jayden's curious gaze. They all dropped to the floor in a split second and started rolling around. Obviously, they were caught by another human!
"Hah.. are you three rolling bread dough now?" Jayden chuckled at the furry fellows. Then, he recalled Eros's words. "It seems like he treats you guys quite well. You have a beach chair to sit on. How fancy."
The three musketeers understood Jayden's words perfectly, but they disagreed with his words. The cat patted its cheeks and pointed to the little ones. Then, it turned its head and roared a few short huffing meows. The other two shrunk back.
As if the demonstration was insufficient, the hamster swapped places with the cat and placed its chubby arms on its hips. It pointed in all directions while squealing and chirping.
The bunny was too lazy to move, so it continued to roll around. Seeing this bunny's laziness, the cat and hamster smacked their faces and fell on their back.
"Haha. Are you guys imitating how Eros usually treated you guys?" Jayden stretched his arm out in an attractive manner. "It's my sister, Primrose's birthday. Do you three want to join the celebration?"
As the three charged toward Jayden's palm, they heard Eros's voice from above. "They don't."
Jayden laughed and straightened his finger. "It doesn't seem like they care about you."
The three musketeers tiptoed between Eros's feet and the doorway. Before entering, they brushed their paws against the rug, where shoes were neatly aligned on the shoe rack. Each of them made a sound as if announcing their arrival.
"You're all here! Welcome!" Primrose was the first to skip over to the fluffy fellows. Within seconds, she was surrounded by the three musketeers. Side sat on her shoulder, rubbing against her neck. Orion stuck to her shoulder as if she was a floating log he found while drowning in a river.
Meanwhile, Artemis obediently swung her tail while taking the spot in her arms.
The three of them sighed in harmony. "Ah~ Comfortable."
Eros rubbed his temples. "Did you think this is a vacation?"
The three replied in unison. " Yes, for us!"
Primrose smiled at Eros. "It's my birthday. Why don't you and your pets stay until the party is over?" When she was at his condo, she smelled no food fragrance lingering around. Since she occupied his time, she knew he hadn't eaten yet.

The sound of a door being locked entered his ears.
"Do I have any other option?" Eros looked at the door that Jayden had just locked.
While Primrose hugged Eros's pets in her embrace, Collen busily chattered with Eros.
Collen could read between the lines when he met Jayden's sharp eyes. He reached for the bunny apron on the chair and tossed it at Jayden's head. Since Jayden was not paying attention to his surrounding, the apron covered his vision completely without him catching it in midair.
"Primmy's birthday cake?" Collen reminded him nicely.
"En." Jayden grunted in dismay.
As he tied the apron from behind, Jayden made his way to the kitchen. Before entering, he looked back at Eros and narrowed his sight. 'They just met, but why do I have a feeling that my grown cabbage is being stolen by a wolf? Am I overthinking?' He shook his head before disappearing to complete the cake.
