"Hah! Hit! Strike! Go! Fire!" Axle stretched his arm and bent in various angles to test the rectangular object out. After a while, he scratched his head and bounced the object between his palms.
"Hmm? I saw these humans tapping the screen and it would light up. Let me see...Oh, right. Some even pressed the button on the side." He quickly double-tapped the phone screen in his hands and watched it light up.
"Wow!!! What is...passcode? I didn't do anything and it says it doesn't recognize my face. My face? When have you seen me before? Tsk, do I know you? Hello? Speak to me!!" Axle shook the rectangular item in his hand, staring at it with extreme interest. After swaying the mobile device in his hands with nothing but all questions in his mind, he gave it a roller coaster three minutes intensive bartender shake.
When he stopped his wrist from twisting around, the rectangular object fell apart in his palm. "So fragile! Tch, what about his? Here, the man with the blue outfit, I'm returning your defective product. You should seriously get a functional one. Such a shame." Axle stuffed the cellphone parts in the officer's hands where he had originally taken the phone from.
To the officer's right, the man who started the fight stood with a hunched back and his mouth wide opened. Smirking, Axle stepped a few centimeters closer to the arrogant hooligan from earlier. "Oh! Your hair is fake! Oh? How dare you try to get me into trouble? Your rectangle item is also here. Heh, let me try it out then! Let's see how long this thing will last..."
Just like that, Axle snapped his fingers and made his wig disappear in thin air.
With another tap between his fingers, he successfully took the rectangular item from the man's hands. This time, he saw a keypad with numbers popping up to the screen. "Hmm... there are five empty circles and then numbers below it. Do I click these numbers?"
Apply pressure onto his fingers, he cracked a few bones before pressing on the keypad. "Oh! It is like this! So, I just need to enter some numbers. Hmmm...Let's see...since there is only ten possible numbers I could choose from, let me roll a ten-sided die! Hehehe, let's roll it five times."
Interestingly, every time Axle rolled the rice, it ended up rolling the number one. Shrugging, he entered five ones as the passcode. An instant click sound echoed in his ear and the screen changed - the phone unlocked.
Rendered speechless by the amazing luck he had, Axle quickly swiped through the rectangular device and eventually landed on settings where he learned about the object in his hands. "This is an Apple phone? iPhone? Hmmm, this man sure likes taking advantage of girls. Let me leave you a great gift."
Facing the hooligan, Axle repeated a reverse spell to him. After mumbling some words, he whispered. "When I snap my fingers again, you'll take pictures of yourself as you did to girls who were unaware of your behavior. You'll wear a girl's uniform from one of the stores around here and run around until everyone has seen you at least once."
It took half a day for Axle to vaguely inspect the mobile device he found. Since time paused under his spell, he wasn't concerned about the time he spent on experimenting with the new product. Once he was done, he returned the identification cards and mobile devices to its owners.
With a small jump, he flew backwards, landing on the rooftop of a nearby building.
"Return to normal." He snapped his fingers, grinning at the confused expressions below. He wanted to leave earth and talk about the new toy he found on earth. However, this new discovery was something that even the Oracle couldn't give an explanation about. Hence, Axle ended up buying an iPhone from one of the stores and experimented with it on a daily basis.
Fortunately, his ability in processing new information was quick. In three days, he learned about apps and how humans interact with each other using the devices. Despite the many setbacks, Axle managed to survive studying on earth as he made self reminders in the Oracles guide. He realized that nearly seventy-five percent of the guide were all irrelevant now.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Luckily, I found out before following your guide. The men's bathroom is always on the left? Either on the left side or the first restroom? Hah, I almost got tricked by you! There are female and male figures on them now and different colors too." Axle scribbled on his notebook. Fortunately, he learned to read the signs and follow some male classmates during school hours to make sure he was heading the right direction.
Imagining the consequences of dealing with girls and their sharp nails after intruding the ladies room made him shudder. Suddenly, a long arm wrapped around his shoulder and pulled him playfully to the side. He staggered and followed the person who jokingly grabbed him.
"Yo! What are you doing here? Let's go! We need to get changed for gymnastics class before the teacher nags about us being late again!" Axle's classmate laughed.
"Geez, I said many times to not grab me from behind. Are you not afraid of my defensive attacks? I'm pretty good at them!" Axle grinned at his friend. Their laughs blended in with other students who were wandering the hallway. However, the sound of the class bell rung deafening to their ears. In an instant, the hallway was cleared up.
Right after the bell rang, Axle grabbed his friend's collar and dragged him across the hallway. "Oh shit! We're late! We need to run!!!"
"W..Wait!" His friend quickly followed Axle. "Wait! The gymnasium is on the other side of the hallway! Where are you going?!" He shouted, making a sharp turn backwards.
Just like that, the two youths rushed down like leopards running from their prey to reach class on time.
- Back to present -
"That's the terrifying experience of my first day on earth. So, this guide has only twenty five percent truths in it. If not, then there is even less content that is true in here. In other words, you don't have to follow this word for word." He swayed the guide in his hand, letting pages flip breezily in midair.
"So, at the end, did you make it to class on time?" Eros stared at him absentmindedly. He seemed distracted since the beginning. If words were three dimensional, the blocks of words would've smacked Eros' face until his nose flattened like a wall.
"No. The teacher punished us and made up run around the tracks for fifteen times! Wait. This isn't about me! Anyway, that's not the point!" Axle sighed helplessly, fanning himself with the pages in the guide. "Let's head to earth now." He blew a puff of mist air, forming an ovular outline. Like scattering water on dry ice, the mist spread rapidly in thick fogs. In a blink of an eye, ice droplets formed like crystals in a cave, sparkling glamorously.
Less than a minute later, a mirror reflected the two figures in front of it. On the count of three, they curved their index finger and gently knocked on their own reflections. A flash of light shone from where they touched the glass.
Swoosh
The mirror and two figures disappeared like dust particles in air - as if they were never there.
