Chapter 32 - The Sound of a 98K Shot from the Side

Orange Soda: "Mr, Lin Ye, you have sufficient equipment already. You could totally just find a car and leave. There's no need to battle to the death in this city."

"It's too hard for you to battle multiple players in the closed-off and complicated terrain of the city. You'll become a death crate right after the start of this game really easily."

The little rich lady, Orange Soda, made a lot of sense. Even with her professional players in her team, they would be very cautious when they were fighting both defensive and offensive battles in cities.

The roads in big cities were complicated, and there were many covers and terrains to hide behind and in. It was easy for someone to just shoot you from an unexpected location and turn you into a death crate.

With covers to hide behind, such a big first-mover advantage was indefensible.

Only those with godly skills and mechanics could change their destiny. Even when professional players faced an S686 behind a door, they would end up getting shot and turning into a death crate.

However, this too was the beauty of PUBG. Geography, guns, defense items, HP, and many other complicated situations shrunk the gaps between players. If one was able to get good geography and guns, then even if they were newbies, they would have a chance against professional players.

"Yeah, yeah. You already have an abundance of materials. There's no need to waste your time in Severny."

"Smug Streamer, aren't you afraid that you're going to deliver yourself to the enemy if you jump like this?"

"It'll be such a waste of such great equipment if someone shoots you from the behind now."

"Run! It's not shameful to run from a fight without a 98K."

There were many viewers in Lin Ye's stream that had the same thought as Orange Soda. They wanted Lin Ye to escape from this place so that he wouldn't be turned into a death crate from a sneak attack before even encountering the cheating god in this game.

Battles in towns and cities were a lot of players' nightmare because there might be enemies hiding behind doors or grey windows. If one went into the wrong position, then even if you were mechanically gifted, you would get shot and die.

Many viewers in his stream were looking forward to Lin Ye using a 98K to kill the cheating god, so they didn't want him to die in Severny before the battle even started.

Lin Yan glanced at the bullet comments and calmly said, "Run? No way. This is the time to show off real skills!"

He was confident and was willing to face the challenges and dangers.

Lin Ye firmly believed that in this world, there was nothing a bullet couldn't solve.

B...B...B...B...

Lin Ye continued pressing the B key and switched to the automatic mode for his M416. Then, he ran full speed ahead without fear.

Fight!!

Before the battle with the cheating god, he had to warm up.

Running at full speed.

The road was over 20 meters wide. He dashed across and with his agile movement techniques, he got to the other side's neighborhood. He hid by the walls and observed the movements in the buildings ahead of him.

Lin Ye was certain that the gunfire was from these buildings, so when he came over, he was very cautious and was ready for combat.

Because he hadn't found a sniper rifle yet, Lin Ye couldn't use his overpowering skill and just dash forward. He had to cautiously observe his surroundings and protect himself, searching for traces of the other players.

Suddenly, a shadow flashed by the window in front of him.

Lin Ye was very focused, so he was able to find the player on the second floor balcony immediately.

Just as I expected. The two players were now in a stalemate after firing at each other, both hiding behind cover and waiting for the other person to lower their guard. Lin Ye thought to himself while he adeptly controlled his body and lightly shook two times behind his cover.

He moved consecutively, baiting for enemies.

Obviously, the player on the second floor balcony had discovered Lin Ye and stood up behind the short wall. He raised the S1897 in his hand and started shooting at Lin Ye.

Bang!

The sharp sound of the gun resonated.

The bullets of the S1897 shotgun formed a cone formation and came pouring down on Lin Ye.

The bullets rained, and there was no way to turn back.

There were less than ten meters between them, and this was a distance where the damage of shotguns was maxed.

If one were to get shot, then they would die 80 percent of the time.

"F*ck. Streamer, are you crazy? Are you going to kill yourself like that?"

"Smug Streamer, it's too close. Don't fight with a shotgun up close!"

"I have a feeling that the next flight will take off soon."

The viewers in his streamer all became anxious for Lin Ye when they saw Lin Ye's clumsy dodges. However, Lin Ye looked very calm, and his movements were all very steady, not showing any signs of panic.

Dodge forward.

Dodge backward.

Going forward and backward behind the cover, Lin Ye had successfully attracted this player from the balcony and even tricked him to use his shotgun once.

Scope, aim.

In between the cracks of the fence wall, Lin Ye used his holographic sight and aimed onto the player with the shotgun.

He lightly pressed the left mouse key and pulled the trigger.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The M416 in Lin Ye's hand shot out sparks, and the bullet spiraled and went into the shotgun-wielding player's body. A lot of blood then gushed out.

Woosh!

Woosh!

Woosh!

Every time a bullet went into the body, it caused huge amounts of damage.

"Linye headshotted EC-124 with M416."

When the kill notification showed up on the top right corner, Lin Ye didn't stay in the same spot. Instead, he ran towards the building in front of him.

Those two players were in a stalemate just now, but Lin Ye had killed one of them, so he was probably in the other player's scope.

Bang!

It was a crisp and familiar sound of gunfire.

Just when Lin Ye ran inside the house, a bullet scratched his level 3 bag, and he almost lost his life.

"98K!"

Under extreme danger, not only was Lin Ye not anxious, but he was excited.

Lin Ye didn't expect that one of the two players who were fighting each other picked up what he needed the most - a 98K!

However, Lin Ye's last kill was like a spark falling upon dry firewood, lighting up the whole Severny.

Those players who were secretly hiding before had now come out of their covers and pointed their guns at Lin Ye.

After landing in the city, these players seemed to all follow the dark forest law. No matter who opened fire first, it would attract the other hunters' attention.

There was only a fine line between life and death.

Of course, Lin Ye was not at all afraid. He had started the fight in this darkness and was confident in his ultimate victory.

However, his outrageous actions in baiting the other player just now were scaring his stream viewers.

"Oh my god. Streamer, you're really bold to fight with a shotgun at such a close distance."

"6666~6666~6666~"

"It's still very dangerous. If that shot hit you, you would probably be dead now."

"Smug Streamer, hurry and get that 98K because I don't think you can survive with an ordinary rifle!"

"Yeah, yeah. If you died just now, you wouldn't have a chance to slay the cheating god in this game, no?"

Lin Ye glanced at the bullet comments in his stream, and he smiled as he explained, "Although that bait looked like I was dancing on the tips of knives, in reality, I was extremely steady and confident."

"You guys need to know that in PUBG, when a player switches from crouching to standing or when a player is falling, the body would be stiff for a period of 0.3 seconds. During this time, the player cannot shoot."

"So when I was moving to bait him, I took advantage of the time that his body would be stiff. By moving forward and backward, I was able to turn something passive into something active."

"If you guys are ever in such a stalemate situation, you can use this small technique to break free. From my personal experience, the success rate is fairly high."

After Lin Ye's patient explanation, his viewers finally understood what had happened.

Although what Lin Ye did just now looked dangerous, in reality, he knew what he was doing all along.

All of a sudden, Lin Ye's stream was once again filled with "6666" bullet comments, filling the screen with white as if it was covered with snow. It looked very spectacular.

After killing this shotgun-wielding player, Lin Ye ran up to the second floor to check the crate. He added two frag grenades to his collection and moved on. He pushed open the door and ran towards the two-story building beside this one.

In this two-story building, there was a player that was using a 98K to shoot him, so Lin Ye wanted to go collect that gun as soon as possible so that he could use the 8X scope he picked up earlier from the restaurant.

He pushed open the door.

Lin Ye came from the east of Severny and closened up to the targeted building, using the buildings facing the west as cover and thereby separating himself from the other hidden players.

He began attacking the building.

This would be a one on one battle.

He ran quickly into the building.

Lin Ye was able to quickly get to the first floor entrance of the targeted building in a few seconds and was ready to start laying siege.

Ta!

Ta, ta!

Ta, ta, ta!

He heard panicking footsteps, indicating the height that his opponent was walking on.

"Second floor compartment."

Due to the irregular movements of the other player, Lin Ye was able to lock down that player's position.

No one was on the first floor.

Lin Ye pushed open the door and ran towards the corner staircase that could lead him up to the second floor.

There were no overlapping footsteps, and the second floor suddenly quieted down.

The player guarding this building obviously found out something was going on on the first floor. He probably set up a location on the second floor and was now waiting for Lin Ye to fall into his trap.

This two-story building had an open concept, so both the first and second floors were very open, much different from a normal small two-story building.

Although the second floor had an open concept, there were still many locations that could block the main stairs.

Above the metal handrails of the corner stairs, behind the walls of the compartment next to the stairs, and the entrance to the washroom which was on the right-hand side of the stairs; these were all classic locations where players could set up ambushes. There were tons of PUBG 1VN killing montages that featured this two-story building.

The person guarding this building had an advantage over the attacker because of this narrow staircase. The attackers usually needed a big numbers advantage to rush onto the second floor. However, Lin Ye came alone, so it was extremely dangerous.

His viewers were rather scared for him, especially because he didn't have a sniper rifle, which was his expertise.

From the very start, why did it look like this Smug Streamer is fighting in adversity?!
