Divya woke up late because she was too tired. She hurried to office empty stomach as she didn't want to be late. The presentation was yet to be done and her paper works were on half way. She knows how angry he could get for being late but it was his fault too. She pushed away the crowd and reached the entrance. She swiped her identity card and ran through the hallway into her cabin.
Everyone was already into their day's work and it was only her who was late that too on the day she had to be the first. She finished all the works in 2hours and called CEO's PA to ask when to submit it. He asked her to keep the file on the table.
She went to his cabin hoping that her paper works would be good enough for the presentation. she kept it on the top of all others files and quietly left because, she didn't want to see him in the morning itself. She prayed that he would appreciate her first work and went back to her cabin. Later, she was called to CEO's cabin and wondered what he have got to say.
"May I come in, sir?":- she asked worriedly.
"Come in." :- she heard a sharp voice from inside.
She walked inside slowly with a smile on her face.
"Where is the paper work? How can you be so irresponsible? It's just the first day and you can't even do the least of the things I gave you?" He shouted at her in anger.
"Sir, the file in front of you is the paper work you gave me. Your PA informed me to place it on your table." Divya was on thr verge of tears while she answered him.
Dhruv reached to take the file while he accidently spilled his coffee on it. He felt awkward and at the same time felt bad for her. He didn't want her knowing that he made a mistake so in order to cover up his folly, he shouted at her again for being careless. He scolded her for his own fault and threw her out of his cabin to which she didn't respond.
She walked to her cabin with head held down to avoid all the people who were staring at her. She took the soft copy of the work she had done and went back to Dhruv's cabin.
"May I come in, sir?" :- she asked out loudly.
"Come in." It was the PA who talked back.
She walked in slowly. "Sir, this is the soft copy of the work I did. Please have a look through this and i am sorry of the earlier." She left the room quietly without looking at his face.
She went to her cabin and cried out. She hated the place and work. The dreams and colours of a twenty year old shedded its leaves.
PRESENT DAY...
Diya came back to senses when she heard a knock on the door. She peeped through the keyhole to see who it was. She was alone in her flat and didn't want to take a chance by opening the door at that hour of the day. It was the delivery boy who came with the food. She paid him off and took the food inside. She was not in a mood to eat the food but didn't want to starve for anyone. She ordered his favourite food, in the memory of the infinite times they had the same food together. She felt so lonely, that she wanted to burst out onto somebody's shoulder.
She washed the dishes and went to bed. "I no longer can stay weak, sometimes the queen herself will have to win the battle for her king." She kept herself brave for so many people who were once denied the rights to live. She lost everyone she had, each and everything she dreamt off.
She felt, she was kept alive only to seek revenge, only to make the evil pay for their deeds. She had so much to do.
She dreamt only about him, the whole night. The good old days with her king and how it ended her happiness. Dhruv was never a bad guy, infact he was the best, no.. he is the best any girl could ask for.
But now its her turn to change the evil around him, to free him all the leashes and take him back to his old happy days. She could feel the change in him. He wouldnt recognize her in this new look. Not only she changed her name but also the whole self.
She woke up by 8am, bathed and got dressed up to go to office. It was the second day and she barely had any idea as to what is waiting for her in the list. She took a rikshaw to office.
Meanwhile, Dhruv was waiting for Diya below her flat but didn't have the heart to go out and talk to her. He followed her to the office but once he reached the compound, he drove off quickly into the parking lot. She saw him walking into the office ahead for her and hence slowed her pace. She didn't want him to notice her so she made it into the office quietly into her cabin.
Kabir was waiting for her in her cabin with a box full of chocolate. "What's this, Kabir?"
"Chocolates. Don't you like them?"
"I can definitely see what that is. But why is it here?"
"Well if it's on your table, then I guess it's for you." he said mockingly
"I don't like chocolates. Why did you get me this now?" she questioned him hiding her love for chocolates.
"Umm, it's not me. Sir asked me to keep it here for you."
"Which sir?"
"Oh! None other than our grumpy CEO. I don't understand why because he never looks at his staffs. Look at him now, buying chocolates" Kabir continued to irritate Diya.
"Kabir, stop joking. I have enough work to do. Now don't give me a headache." she said carelessly.
"Okay, I am leaving.. but please remember to have this chocolates." he said while leaving the cabin.
She took the chocolate box and was surprised. It was the same chocolate he gifted her for the first time. The chocolates which Divya loved to eat always. Dhruv still remembers some things about their past and some incidents are coinciding with the past. She couldn't stop herself from dreaming about that day when he first gave her the chocolates.
