Chapter 56 - The empress.

At tenth's floor,

There was a totally different scenario going on.

A young pitiful lady was sitting on her knees while holding a man's leg. She was begging to let her child go.

"Please don't do this! P-Please let my child go."

"What are you crying for? Bitch." That man roared while wearing a mercurial smile.

"P-Please let him go. He is just a child. Please.."

"I'm saying this again, what are you crying for? Instead you should be grateful to me. I'm giving a chance to be useful for the lord. This is a lifetime opportunity. Your child. Your child is gifted with laudable ways. Only a few people obtain a chance to serve the lord."

Even though that guy's words were offensive. They were enough to provoke any mother but that lady didn't get aggrieved. Instead she pleaded more pitifully. Maybe it was because her priority was her child's safety. "P-Please…"

Her beseech didn't move that guy. On The Contrary, He kicked her fiercely and she flew away a little. " This lowey Bitch!"

Kneeling before the odd guy, Zoe could hear their conversation clearly. It seemed like someone had thrown that child from the tenth floor. Now his mother was begging the culprit to not kill him.

"Such a disaster" Zoe caused in a suppressed voice. The sobbing of the young lady and laughter of that ruthless guy was extremely annoying.

Zoe took a deep breath and was about to take action. She wouldn't allow that bastard to kill an innocent child.

In an act of heroism she forgot that she was still in the clutch of the devil. Hence when she was about to stand up the odd guy grabbed her hair  and threw her head to the ground.

As soon as her head hit the floor, the black fluid spread on it. No one can clarify whether it was her blood or some other matter.

Zoe herself was unaware. Right now she was only grunting in the pain. Her eyes had become watery and she had bitten her lower lip so it was bleeding.

Looking at her black blood the odd guy gritted his teeth. He sat his left foot on Zoe's head and pestle. He was moving his leg as if he was squashing a worm.

After some time, he blew with his foot to Zoe's back before moving his foot then he roared.

As he yelled the atmosphere turned more inanimate than before. There wasn't a single left who didn't tremble for several times.

His subordinates hastily demonstrated a picture of a mother and a daughter.

During this process, the guy who was translating the odd guy's sentence came near Zoe. He struck her stomach and sneered. "You monster! What the hell are you? Are you a human? A vampire? A witch? A hybrid? What the heck are you? huh"

Zoe's senses had become dull. She was afraid she would lose consciousness any second. Thus she kept mumbling to herself  'Don't faint, Don't faint.'

She was possessed to not herself down so much she didn't even care the person who had kicked her and now scoffed at her.

However the odd guy wasn't possessed. He glared at him (translator). His murderous stare was clearly warning to not waste time.

He (translator) abandoned Zoe there. He came forward and began to threaten. "You see these two women here? Tell us everything that you know about them. If we discover that you are concealing information from us or lie in your reports, you will suffer the consequences."

To tell the truth, his words were too moderate. They didn't match with their deeds. Thus, people around him shivered in the damp foggy cold again.

No one responded to him because no one dared to raise their heads.

He walked towards the coward and picked a little girl. He pointed the gun on her head and blustered again. "Seems like you all want to die. Don't worry I'll grant it. The Massacre starts with her."

Although a faultless little girl was about to be executed, no one gathered the courage to take a risk to their lives except the parents of the girl.

However, a melodious yet calm voice resounded and a lady came out from the crowd. "I'm here. Now get her free."

The odd dashed towards her while crossing Zoe's  body. He smiled wickedly before accosting.

"&&&&&"  He said something with his peculiar language.

Notwithstanding, it was a problem that he spoke up. The strange point was that the lady replied to him in the same language.

Even though Zoe's vision was still grizzly, she still  raised her head and looked at the lady. She was stunned when she recognised her.  It was the lady with whom she exchanged her dress.

'What the heck! All this drama happening because of her?'

------

(The conversation between that odd guy and the lady)

"I finally get the honour to kill you, the empress." The odd guy grinned.

"Do you? I don't think so." The lady coldy replied.

"Hmm, You don't think so. I see. However THE EMPRESS, I'm getting so many premonitions that I'm going to achieve great Glory today. After all, eliminating the mother of the vampires can not be counted as something a dime a dozen."

"Of course, it is. But you are not going to hold that achievement."

"Hehe, I'll definitely have it today. You know what, what would be more pleasurable?  To see the father of the vampires, I mean the emperor to go crazy because of the death of his mate."

"Keep dreaming."

After hearing her response he withdrew a gun from his coat and pointed it at her.

_______

Zoe who was lying on the ground motionlessly was hearing everyone. The sound of scared breathings, a crying woman, some insolent bastards hooting.

She felt so useless. What was the worth of her training if she couldn't defeat some lawless dogs?

She looked at the odd guy and the lady. When Zoe saw him taking the gun out, she assumed that he was about to kill her.

Zoe remembered the chitting with the lady. Her voice was so sweet. She wouldn't let that bastard kill a kind and pretty lady.

She gritted her teeth as the image of Noah appeared in the front of her eyes. ' I'm gonna miss him if I die today.'

However she had to do something. 'now or never'
