"Or would you like to rest before you eat?" Chang asked looking like a mother hen than a menacing ape that he was. "I can eat." Chang helps him up, to my surprise he was a bit taller than Chang and that is a shocker because not many people are that tall. I go to hold the door open for them. Chang then takes the blankets and heads upstairs and leaves me, once again, alone with him. "So Alex huh, name's Tanjiro." I look at him shocked, as he takes his hand out for me to shake. This man is Tanjiro?! I don't know if it's a good thing I saved him or not. "Um yeah." I said shaking his hand quickly and looked away. "Follow me." Not even waiting for him, I made my way to the front and got him out of the kitchen. "Hey. Where is the guy?" Jian stepped in front of me blocking my path. "Behind me." and sure enough Tanjiro came in towering over Jian who was 5'11, Jian tried to look intimidating but kinda looked and felt awkward. "Um Tanjiro this is Jian he is Chang's nephew." Tanjiro looked at me with a questioning look. "Chang?" "Yeah he's the one that took the blankets upstairs." He then made an O with his mouth and then looked at Jian. "Nice to meet you Jian." Jian just glared at him and turned away to help a customer making my jaw drop, "sorry he's a brat, you can sit here and wait for Chang to come back and make you some food." I said leading him to one of the many chairs that were empty at the island table and when he sat down I quickly made my way to Jian and once the couple that he was helping left, I grabbed his ear and pulled him to the kitchen. "Ow! What are you doing!?" I finally let him go and put my hands on my hips. "Are you stupid!? Do you not realize who that is?!" He then glared at me. "Why should I care who he is?" "You should care because the second you are on his bad side, you damn well bet your ass that he can ruin your life in just the snap of his fingers! So your future of being the owner of this place could be gone!" "I mean your a woman, you can just show him a good time-" *Slap!!!* "Is that how you really see me? Some thug like prostitute?" He didn't look at me and walked back to the registers, I composed myself and walked out and sat next to Tanjiro. After what seemed like hours, Chang came back and grabbed his apron that hung on the wall close to the registers. "So...um.." "Tanjiro." "Ah Tanjiro, what would you like?" "I would like your special." We all stared at him in shock, "You sure? there is about three pounds of meat and usually a group of people eat it." Wait how am I allowing this. "Wait! No no, Chang give him something easier to digest, no meats." "But I said I wanted the special." Chang then put his hands up. "Whoa now. I think Alex is right on this, you did just get shot and she should know better than all of us on that field. I mean she is technically your doctor." Tanjiro then huffed and finally agreed, for a mafia boss he acted a lot like a kid. "So Tanjiro, how did you end up at our alley?" Chang asked as he made rice noodle stew and my god, it smelled like heaven. "It was a gun fight and I jumped in to save someone I though was family, they dragged me here and left me to die." This snapped me out of it, I looked at him and saw a hint of hurt in his eyes and that got me thinking about my mother. I propped my elbow on the table and leaned my head in my hand, and here I thought I was the only one with problems. I found myself making eye contact with Jian, who just simply rolled his eyes at Tanjiro which pissed me off, whatever that guy does just manages to piss me off for some reason. "So Tanjiro, how long do you plan on staying?" Chang looked at Jian and slapped him upside the head, "Show some manners." "It's fine, Im sure he is a little mad that his girlfriend is my doctor." I start choking on the water that I was drinking, Jian blushed but had an annoyed look. Chang laughs hysterically and Tanjiro was patting my back, "We are not together." I said when my coughing calmed down. "Oh. I thought you were because he keeps glaring at me ever since you sat down." I waved him off, "No he just has a stick up his ass." Chang gave Tanjiro and me a bowl of the rice noodles while Jian just leaves upstairs not saying a word. "If those two were together, we would probably be in an apocalypse." Tanjiro and I laughed, "I'd probably be classified as a pedophile if I dated him." I said as I took my chopsticks and began to eat. "How old is he?" Tanjiro asked as he gave his bowl to Chang to get seconds, how can he eat that fast? "Jian is turning eighteen in a few weeks." Tanjiro then looks at me. "So your what? Eighteen? nineteen?" I looked at Chang and we both laughed, "No, Im actually twenty-four but thanks for the compliment." Tanjiro looked at me surprised, "How you look really young and little." "Ha! The only thing 'little' about her is her height." I then pointed my chopsticks at Chang, "Watch yourself Chang." Chang chuckled and looked at Tanjiro. "So how old are you?" Tanjiro gave his bowl to Chang for more, are you kidding?! I'm still on my first bowl and I'm already getting full. "I'm Twenty-seven." As Chang was about to give him the bowl I took it and put it next to mine and away from Tanjiro. "I think you've had enough." He frowned but ignored my warning and reached over me and took his bowl back, Chang raised his eyebrows and I gave Tanjiro the 'you really going to test me?' look and he ignored me. Mafia boss or not, when I say enough you should probably listen. "Fine, guess my job of taking care of you is over, do what you want." "I can take care of myself just fine." "Right, because you obviously weren't the guy that I operated on not so long ago." I poked his side close to his wound making him flinch.
