Chapter 230 - Pregnancy Bells 2

After having a brief chat with Kyla, Jessica, Yi Wei, Selina, and Celinda stepped out of the room. Midway down the hospital lobby, Isaac, Bryan, Jason, and Alfred could be seen standing at the entrance.

Yi Wei quickly excused herself with courtesy business matters she needed to take care of when she saw the group of men staring in their direction. She was too lazy to participate in the following conversation between couples and explanations, so she chose to leave before trouble comes for her.

Selina walked over to Jason and held his hands. "Hubby, I need to do some shopping. Come with me for a bit. I'll tell you some stuff when we're alone." Nodding, Jason gave his buddies a silent glance before turning towards the exit. At the same time, Celinda also dragged Bryan to the elevator, having a certain plan in her mind.

Meanwhile, Isaac and Alfred stepped forward to speak with Jessica. Isaac broke the silence and asked her about Kyla. "Where's Kyla? Why isn't she with you girls? Is she using the restroom? Why did you guys all come to the hospital when Selina was the one who said she was pregnant? Is it a false alarm?"

Jessica shrugged. "Why can't we come with Selina to the hospital if she is suspecting she might be pregnant? Plus, even if it's a false alarm, shouldn't you be asking Selina this question? As for Kyla, you still care about my best friend? Really? After what you've said to her, do your words sound believable? I'm surprised you even remember having a fiancee."

"How could you put it this way? I admit my words were harsh on her earlier. I came to apologize to her for my mistake. But where is she? You haven't answered my question." Isaac kept looking around but failed to see Kyla's presence anywhere.

"I'm afraid your words and appearance would only make her spit blood. Since you know you've said something wrong, you should be explaining where you've been. However, you haven't once addressed this. I'm not your fiancee, so you don't have to tell me where you've gone for the past weeks. However, Kyla is your fiancee, or at least she used to be." Jessica crossed her arms, leaning her weight onto her right leg.

She continued speaking solemnly to her brother whose brain was equal to an atom in her eyes. "Answering your question, Kyla is currently hospitalized because she needs to go through extra exams for her body. I suggest for you to come clean with whatever you were doing behind her back and not say anything that would trigger her emotions. She's in no condition to deal with any bullshit right now."

"What's wrong with her?" Isaac suppressed his conflicting mood in front of her.

"She's hospitalized for a reason. What else do you think could be wrong with her? Obviously, it is a body issue only doctors could answer. Considering Mrs. Wang banned your fiancee from receiving medical help for the past weeks during your long trip, even a simple illness would become complicated. Don't you agree?" Jessica rolled her eyes as she mocked her own mother for playing such low moves.

"Blacklisting her from seeing doctors? I didn't know about that. Tell me, what is wrong with her? Is it serious?" Isaac's knuckles surfaced on the back of his hands.

"Of course you wouldn't know about this. You weren't even with her when she needed you there the most. She didn't even look for any of us nor told us how terrible her condition was for the past weeks until you came back. Mister I'm-too-tired-of-coaxing, don't you think you should be focusing on giving her a proper explanation about where you've been these days?"

"Don't you think it is only fair for you to speak up about your whereabouts before asking someone about their wellbeing? Besides, this was Kyla's concern, so I can't tell you what is wrong with her until she tells me I can talk about it. For someone who left his fiancee without explaining and then comes back to spout ridiculous words at her, you sure are asking a lot about her. Anyways, your main focus now is to coax her because you don't have much time left to make up for your mistake."

Jessica squinted at him when she spoke the last sentence. 'Hmph, you dare bully my Kyla! I'll mislead you and give you a nice scare, brother. Happy early April fools day! Not my fault if you think wrong from my words. Besides, in less than eight months, Kyla will give birth, and you might end up losing the right to be a father if you don't coax her properly.'

He gritted his teeth. "What exactly is wrong with her? You sound as if she has limited time left...unless something is seriously wrong with her. What do you mean by me not having much time make up for my mistake? Oh my...she...Don't tell me she's dying? No...That can't be true. How could a healthy person suddenly have less than eight months to live?!"

"You'll lose Kyla's heart later on and there's nothing you can do about it. You really don't have much time to comfort her, yet you sure like stalling time right now by talking to me. Are you sure I'm the person you want to talk to right now? Kyla is in room 708. She might not want to see you, so I will warn you to watch your words. It's a life and death situation and you really can't trigger her emotions anymore."

Jessica sighed and pulled Alfred's arm. "Let's go hubby. Don't learn from this potato in the future. This is the exact opposite example of how a guy should treat a girl, especially a girl whom he had his eyes set on to be his wife. Let's leave this potato to do his job right."

Alfred patted Isaac's shoulder, "good luck." After being left alone, Isaac processed Jessica's words and only concentrated on Kyla's condition. His eyes moistened from the thought of losing her. He regretted leaving her alone and coming back with an attitude.

'If I wasn't gone for the past weeks, I would've brought her to the hospital earlier. How could she only have eight months left? If I realized her condition two months ago and brought her to see a doctor when the symptoms began, would she be able to live longer? I would've dropped all my plans if I knew she only had this little time left.'

He fell deep in thought as the elevator lifted him to the seventh floor. A few minutes later, he stood outside the private room where Kyla was staying in. He read her name and wiped the tears before knocking.

"Hmm? You girls are back so fast? Did you leave something?" Kyla sounded tired from the other side of the door.
