In the middle of walking around the supermarket, Michael contacted Bryan informing him about his success on his recent mission. He was one step closer to his objective. After exchanging some congratulatory words, Bryan told him about Selina.
"Michael, Selina is alive. But the current her does not have any memories. The doctor says she will recover over time, but today...she collapsed and is now hospitalized. If you come see her now, be prepared for her reaction. Not only will she not recognize you, your appearance might trigger her emotions."
There was a long pause before Michael responded. "Which hospital? I'll come over right now." Even if she no longer remembered him, he would show up and reintroduce himself. This was the greatest news he has heard since Selina's jump.
"UA Hospital. Room 303. I'll grab your favorite nonalcoholic drink." Bryan replied with a smile.
"Get Selina's favorite juice for me." The sound of his vehicle racing down the highway could be heard clearly through the call.
"Don't you...Never mind. Alright." Bryan walked back to the juice section and took an extra bottle of juice.
After the call disconnected, Alfred asked, "Why did you take another bottle of juice? Doesn't Michael not like these sweetened beverages?"
"You don't understand him. Back then, Selina wanted him to take a sip of the juice, but he wouldn't try it. After knowing she had jumped off the bridge, he's been drinking it as a routine. It was his way of making it up to her. To cherish her." Bryan placed the juice into the shopping cart and proceeded to the counter.
Bryan and Alfred went back to the hospital room first to let others know about Michael's upcoming appearance. In front of Selina, they told her he was their best friend. At first, her brows wrinkled slightly; giving them false hope that she might have recalled his name.then, they realized she was making that face because she couldn't twist open the cap to her drink. A smile spread on her face as Jason took the bottle of juice and opened it for her.
After handing it to her, he opened another bottle for his sister. Selina licked the corner of her lips, "If he's your friend, then I hope I could be friends with him too. He should be a nice person."
Buzz
Jason's phone vibrated in his hand. Reading the text Aaron sent to him, he sighed softly.
Selina looked up at him while taking more sips from her drink. "What is it?"
"Nothing. Just something from work I need to review. Aaron said he was outside the room, so I'll go out to take it from him." He stood up from the side and realized their hands were still linked together. Staring at his sister's cheery smile from tasting the beverage in her hands, he took her hand and placed it on top of Selina's.
"I'll be back. Help me look after her while I'm gone." Celinda raised an alright gesture as she took his spot on the bed. She took off her shoes and wrapped her arm around Selina.
"We should go out more often! You know all these yummy beverages and foods! Ahhhh, I must have been living under a rock like Patrick!" Selina chuckled and leaned her head against Celinda's. Seeing how comfortable the girls were with each other, Bryan felt very grateful someone like Celinda was by her side.
Since the first second he saw Celinda's face, he felt she has looked awfully familiar. She didn't seem to remember him, so he thought he may have recognized wrongly. Still, no matter from which angle he looked at her face, she reminded him of someone. Keeping this important fact in mind, he made a reminder to look back at old albums when he gets back home.
Within minutes, Jason walked back into the room with a stack of documents in his arms. He organized it by the order of most importance to least importance. Clapping his palms together, he walked over to his sister and asked her to return his spot.
Celinda smirked and hooked her arm around Selina's arm. Sticking the tip of her tongue out, she said. "I'm not done chatting with Selina~ Brother can sit in my other seat instead. Hehehe you've hogged her long enough. My time has come~"
"Eggplants with beef." He said.
Revealing a pout on her face, she turned to Selina and pointed at her brother. "Selina~ I haven't told you about the time when my brother was in middle school and he was-"
"I'll sit over there." Jason obediently sat on the chair and crossed his legs. The siblings duo exchanged eyebrow raising glances as if they were challenging the other through eye contact. Selina couldn't help but laugh at their interaction once again.
Meanwhile, Aaron had responded to a work email. As he turned the corner of the hallways, he almost stumbled to the floor after bumping into someone. His eyes squeezed tight, but didn't feel pain. Slowly, he opened his eyes to find himself in a man's embrace.
Like the time at the party, he tripped and a female held him by his waist. This time was like a reenactment of that particular incident; exact same pose and angle. 'Why does this feel so familiar?' Aaron thought to himself.
Michael's lip tilted upwards as his magnetic voice asked, "Why is it that every time I meet you, you're always tripping over me?"
"Because you always make me fall for some reason." Aaron's heart was a mess at the moment. He didn't even realize what he responded until the words escaped his mouth.
"Thanks for falling for me then. Can you stand?" Michael laughed at his cute response and decided to tease him back.
After seeing him stand back on his feet, Michael waved his hands. "Since you're alright, be more careful next time."
"W..Wait! You said every time we meet, I always trip. But isn't this the first time we met?" Aaron knew the answer to his question already, but still wished to confirm it.
Turning around, Michael walked a few steps towards Aaron's direction. He smiled and changed his voice to the female voice he used at the party. The sweet, honey coated voice echoed in Aaron's ears. "Remember me now?"
Aaron wasn't expecting him to reveal the female voice into his ears. Hearing the sweet voice so close and then Michael's original charming voice, Aaron blushed. "You're the girl from the party."
"Haha, that's right. But I'm a man. Can you keep this secret for me?" Michael stared deeply into his eyes as if he was hypnotizing him.
Blinking, Aaron pressed his lips together. "Yes."
"Good. I'll excuse myself now. You be careful when you walk." Michael waved as he fast walked down the hallway.
Aaron stood in a daze for a while before leaving the hospital.
