Chapter 74 - Progress

Elenor stopped waving his sword after he saw Luna coming forward. Despite being a spirit user, he was still a sword wielder first. His pride wouldn't allow him to let his spirits be in charge in a battle. He fights alongside them.

"How's the progress about spirits?" she asked.

He put back his sword inside the sheath and answered, "Your notes are helpful but it's not something I can do instantly. Well, maybe after two weeks, this is the shortest possible time I can increase the spirit I can summon. But it will be the shortest record I will achieve if that happened. If possible, I want to ask for advice about magic circles again next time."

Luna nodded. "Sure, sure and as a teammate, it is favorable sharing some of my knowledge to you but I'd like to ask for a favor in return," she said.

"What is it?" he asked. Elenor got curious for she didn't look like someone who had troubles when it came to magic.

"You are a spirit user but you know well how to fight with weapons. I may be good when it comes to magic theories but my body isn't that suited in long-term combat. Just the basic ones would be enough," Luna said.

For Luna who was not born into this world, she guessed that her physical body was at a disadvantage. At the very least, she would be forced to stay away at the forefront of a fighting scene.

He nodded. There's nothing wrong with that. He's a senior student and thus, he was experienced in terms of fighting. One didn't only need strong magic but also a trained body no matter what class one belonged to.

"I didn't mind. We can start today if you want. Nonetheless, you didn't consider Blair? He can outmatch me in a battle of swords," Elenor uttered.

The two were close friends and he was confused about how she asked him first. She began to laugh awkwardly while her eyes wandered around the training ground and saw Blair who's busy with his swords.

"Hehehe, he is good but I believe that he will only teach me how to slash everyone. I want to learn it so I can use it in a fight when things come dire," she said.

Then Luna remembered something. "What spirit have you summoned already?"

"Wind and water, I know you will want to experiment more with them. I am focusing my sword-wielding so I did not summon the dryad spirit," he said.

Luna's eyes twinkled. In the past two weeks, she had gotten closer with some of them and the little wind spirit even wanted to change owners after seeing what she was capable of but she disagreed. It was burdensome for her as some of her plans would change. Furthermore, it did not look good as the spirit's owner was her teammate.

"Where are they?" She asked.

"I unsummoned them earlier. I'll call them again," Elenor said.

He chanted two short words then the wind and water spirit showed up. He had a total of eight common spirits and one rare, among them, the little female wind spirit that Luna had first met, and the grown-up male water spirit were the ones she was now close to. As much as possible, he limits Luna's contact with other spirits as it was not a far-fetched idea that some of them would be moved by her vast knowledge.

"Good to see you again, Lady Luna!" Attie, the wind spirit said.

River, the water spirit also greeted her with a nod. He was often silent but she could always see his amazement when they were doing unconventional magic.

The three of them did different magic styles until dawn. From afar, her three roommates seemed to sigh a breath of relief after seeing that she did not do something destructive this week. No one knew how stressed the Advanced Mage was who's assigned to oversee the training grounds they were recently assigned to.

They were indeed in a far better place but some craters around their training ground were appearing every day and according to the academy's rules, the students should have a clean training ground every day. It meant that some of the Advanced Mages had to make sure that the areas were all cleaned.

Meanwhile, they had a simultaneous practice when the sun was about to set then decided to finish their training. All of their fighting styles were polished thoroughly and Luna was decided to be their tactician. As for where she got those unconventional battle plans, they did not know.

On their way to the castle, Luna wasn't even shocked that some students were murmuring about her again about what she did to her classmates earlier.

'Hmp. Hopefully, no one will bother me for a while,' Luna said.

Whether they were deliberately doing that to interfere with training or not, Luna would not hold back. They must know how important time is, typically hers.

She walked straight on the lane with her sharp eyes in front and calmly went towards the staircase as if no one was watching her. They seemed to notice her gloomy expression thus all of the passers-by avoided crossing ways with her.

When they entered their designated room, she saw Elle sat tiredly on the couch and looked towards her way.

"Luna, I forgot to tell you that the attire you have custom-ordered to our private tailor will be readied tomorrow," Elle said.

Luna nodded in satisfaction. "Good, it will be used on time," she uttered.

The clothing she told them to make was something similar to Earth's style. It was a combination of clothing styles of both worlds, that would be used in combat. As much as she wanted it with a futuristic style clothing, it would just not fit this magical world.

"You have the tailor measure our bodies also, I'm looking forward to what kind of clothes are you thinking of," Elenor added.

Luna smiled at them.

"You'll see soon and it's just one of the first steps in preparing for the fleeting team battles."
