I knocked the door but no one answered. I knocked one more time, but again no one. As I was trying to reach the secret spot where dad keep the spare key, "Coming!" an elegant voices was heard. "are we at the wrong house?" Sophie ask me. There were confusion shown on her face.
"No, this is the right house." I scratch my head.
Suddenly, the door opened for us to see a brunette with a voluptuous figures wearing nothing but bathrobe standing in front of us. "who are you guys looking for?"
"weren't this suppose to be the house of McQueen? " I asked. 'come on dad, really?'
"oh, you guy must be Steve child. Come in guys, I'll call him out."
" who is she?" Liz whisper. " I don't know. His girlfriend maybe, who know?"
" Quite an open mind that you have, don't you." Sophie giggles. 'Well it's not like I'm not aware of this habit of his.'
We sat down on the couch while waiting for dad to come downstairs, when we saw a cage covered with a single layer fabric. Sophie look were quite interested to know what's in it. suddenly a tall men with brown hair carrying a bunch of paper running down the stairs.
"Hey guys, sorry I can't picked you up. I was busy." Steve panted. " Cut the bullshit dad, the only thing you are busy is to hooked up and your shitty research. That's why you and mom didn't work out. Be truth to yourself once."
" Woah, now that's just hurtful. I'm sorry okay?" he patted me on the shoulder. "Since when do you learn to apologize." I asked about the brunette that he said was indeed his new girlfriend Selena, which at this point I don't care anymore.
"Who's that." he pointed to the other side of the room. "Dad, this is Sophie. Can she stay here for now." Liz said before I can open my mouth.
" Go on, alex and you has live here multiple time so you must be familiar with the places right. . Please, help yourselves. If you need anything you can asked them." he drag his feet slowly toward the stairs to which I was feeling quite surprised because I never remember him to be this pathetic.
"Both the room downstairs is yours, mine were upstairs. Shout if you can't find something." he said as he close the door.
" You're ruthless. Just like your dad when he was your age.well, as what they say, chaotic good is still consider good I guess." said Selena as the girls nods. " How the hell do you know him when he was my age and please, don't compare me to that fool." I refute as I hate to be compared with him. She shurged. As I helped the girls carried their luggages Sophie asked me. " So what's the problem with your dad."
"Nothing, we're just having a different opinion on some matter." I shakes my head. She doesn't ask me anymore which I'm quite thankful.
The night come along faster than I thought. I walk outside to the rocking chair and noticed the beautiful starry night alongside with soothing sounds of the slow crashing and swelling of sea sound that can get rid of all of my trouble from the evening. As I sit down, I pop the bottle that I sneaked back from home.
" Aren't you suppose to be 21 years old to be drinking here." Sophie tap my shoulder from behind. " How long were you there." I asked her. "Long enough to know you're quite drunk. Now you answer my question."
" So what's you going to do. cuff and send me to the police. Nothing was a crime if you don't get caught. Want some." I tried to offer her which she kindly decline." I don't drink."
I replied to a single 'oh' and resume to drink it. "Welp, I'm drunk. *hick* Shit." I cursed. "Why are you so different than in the morning, what's the matter with you." All of a sudden, maybe She tried to take advantage to ask it when I'm drunk. "*hick* you see, *hick* it happen everytime I meet my dad *hick* I'm always mad for some reasons." I lay back on the rocking chair.
" Is it because he left your mom and you? Why don't you try forgiving him."
" Nah, that's not it *hick* and I won't do it. *hick* " I laughed. " Why not, maybe you'll feel a lot better." she looked straight at me, dead serious." You see, *hick* forgiveness is some random bullshit thing to do. Let say you do forgive someone that you hurt. *hick* Maybe they do forgive you, but they will never forget what you did no matter how long you give them. *hick* It's a crack in the heart that can't be repaired when done. "
" No it's not. I mean err, i-if . No i mean Saint Augustine once said that Forgiveness is the remission of sins. For it is by this that what has been lost, and was found, is saved from being lost again." She tried to refute my word.
"*hick* Well that doesn't make any sense at all. Well the point is you have your opinion on something *hick* and I have my own opinion of the world." I laughed as she stomp her foot and get inside.
'well *hick* it's nice to make a girl mad sometimes.'

"argh that brute. Let's see how you going to get in now. " I laughed as I lock the door. " What are you doing." asked Liz right behind me. "ah, you scared me. Nothing, I'm doing nothing. Hey what's that inside that cage." I tried to changed the topic.
" That's a chupacabra, one of dad's research monster." Liz yawn while she explain it. "What, your dad keep a monster at home. Aren't that dangerous." I exclaimed. " No it's not dangerous, the cage is protected by an artifacts. "
" What's an artifacts? " I asked." You don't know about artifacts! Let's go I'm going to teach you everything." she grabbed both my hand and lead us back to our room. ' My teacher never tell me about this kind of thing.'
