Chapter 42 - The Fun Game

G. Chapter 42

Ahi climbed the ladder and appeared on the fourth row. As she opened the small door above her, she met with the night sky. As she climbed out she could see her surroundings illuminated by paper lamps of different colours and of different shapes. Her beautiful face lit up with the light from the paper lamps. As she was amazed with the paper lamps, fireworks burst in the night sky. Bright lights bloomed in vivid patterns. Ahi enjoyed the spectacle with a happy smile on her face.

Hosa and Asi saw the scene in Ahi's block and enjoyed the display. Hosa rolled the dice. He skipped the ladder and appeared in the next block. He looked around and it was an old room. An awful stench hit his nostrils. He felt the urge to vomit. He tightly covered his nose and checked the room. A mountain of garbage was collected at a corner of the room. "Quickly, roll the dice", Hosa said in a muffled voice.

Asi was getting uncomfortable as the room was filled with mice. She quickly rolled the dice. She appeared in a block on the second row. She looked around and was attracted by the scene in the block. She is under water wearing a diving suit. All around her are little aquatic creatures. She reached out to touch a nearby fish, but the fish quickly swam away. She swam towards other creatures.

Ahi rolled the dice and appeared in a silent room. She was sitting on a comfortable chair. As she glanced around, music started to play. The music pulled all of her attention. "This music sounds great", she said. The soft and soothing music made her eyelids heavy.

Hosa rolled the dice and was moved to a fine dance floor with lighting focused on him as he stood in the centre of the dance floor. Music played in the background for him to dance. He gave up on dancing. He isn't going to humiliate himself. He shouted at Ahi to wake her up.

Ahi woke up from the shouts of Hosa.

Asi rolled the dice. She felt as if she was falling. She fell on a big hammock. The hammock started to swing with the sudden movement. Birds flew away from the trees because of the disturbance. As the hammock slowed down, Asi could hear the sounds of birds chirping. The pleasant smell of nature and the gentle wind lightened her mood. She laid soaking under the sun.

After rolling the dice, Ahi appeared on an empty ground. It was dark. Ahi heard a buzzing sound. She felt a bite and slapped the insect reflexively. But it didn't stop there. More and more insects bit her. "Come on. Why these?",she shouted in an irritated tone. Ahi ran in the darkness to escape from the insects. But she couldn't escape the torment.

Rolling the dice, Hosa found himself in a cemetery. Eerie silence filled the cemetery. As the cold wind stroked his skin Hosa felt chills seep through his spine. Suddenly a fleshy hand with pus emerged from the grassy ground and caught Hosa's leg. "Vo..",Hosa jumped from shock and kicked his leg instantly. The fleshy hand came off from the ground. But it gripped his leg tightly. As he looked down at his leg Hosa felt movement on his back. He turned around trembling. His heart beat rose to its limits. A hanged corpse is laughing at him with hollow eyes. "Baaaa..", Hosa screamed and staggered a few steps back.

"Asi roll the dice", Hosa shouted.

Asi immediately rolled the dice. She climbed to the third row and got a second chance to roll the dice. After rolling the dice she appeared on a clay ground. The ground was too soft. Then her legs started sinking into the ground. As she tried to walk out of there she released she sunk deeper into the ground. She gave up on trying to leave.

Ahi held a fishing rod in her hand as she opened her eyes. She looked into the crystal clear water with wide opened eyes. "Wow" she exclaimed. There's a land of pastries in the bottom of the lake. Cookies and breads are swimming inside the lake in groups. Ahi looked at the hook of the fishing rod,but instead there was a ball and there's no bait. She gave this fishing rod a try. As the ball got near to those, it opened into a net and covered the buns, cookies and bread. Ahi pulled them out of the water with ease. As they surfaced, Ahi was captured by the aroma of freshly baked cookies and bread. She pulled a cookie from the net, it was dry and warm. She hesitated and took a bite of the cookie.

"Why should I get that block out of everything!", said Hosa as he patted his chest. Then he glanced at his new surroundings. It's dark. He felt the ground unstable. As Hosa moved his legs, he heard a cracking sound. Hosa stopped his movements. "Shit".He looked at the sky as fear gripped his heart. The sky was covered with dense grey clouds. *Boom* an ear deafening thunder was heard after silver coloured lightning bolts flashed in the sky. "Hey! Whoever it is, quickly roll the dice", Hosa screamed out of his lungs. He started to look for a shelter. Cracking sounds could be heard as he ran. A thin ray of line flew past him. Large glass shards lashed down from the clouds without mercy. Tiny pieces of glass rampaged with the strengthening gust.

Asi looked at the fully cooked body of a goat in front of her. It smelled delicious. Then she heard the eerie screams of a fox. Those sounds are coming from the belly of the cooked goat. Asi looked at the stitching on the goat's belly. She hesitated and tried to remove the stitching. They came off easily. She took out the cooked body of the fox from the inside of the goat. As she checked the body of the fox, the cries of an eagle came from the fox. She instantly checked the belly of the fox. She removed the stitches without hesitation. Asi took the cooked eagle out of the fox. But she didn't hear any sounds this time. She checked the cooked eagle curiously. Then she saw what looked like an egg shell at the bottom of the cooked eagle. Asi tried to take the egg out of the eagle. But her fingers were crushed into the egg. Asi's eyes dilated in panic as a tiny head of a living snake poked out and madly shook its body. The snake bit Asi's finger and injected every drop of venom stored in its body, then slithered away.
