This is a beautiful world with all kinds of flora and fauna. Spirit energy lingers everywhere. This energy brought many changes in the world. All kinds of Beasts can be found. Ants can be as big as elephants. While one needs to be beware of the giant beasts, one can just give up on their fate if encountered deadliest insects. While there are poisonous plants and insects, there are also life-saving elixirs and holy beasts. In this world, humanity is not at the top of food-chain. Beasts, Plants, even stone can gain intelligence and breed its soul. Normal weapons and combat were not enough to grant humanity its survival.
Humanity's last hope of survival was to use the spirit energy to strengthen their body. But, humans weren't like beasts whose strength comes from their bloodline, nor like plants who can directly absorb the spirit energy from nature.
Numerous scholars and warriors worked their blood and sweat to establish a cultivation system millions of years ago. This was the fleeting hope of humanity. Humanity was at their end ropes. Threat lingered from every side, numerous beasts from forests, sea beasts from seas and oceans, and flying beasts from the sky above. Finally, humans succeeded in strengthening themselves. They could now fight the beasts using spirit energy and this led to a mark of evolution in human history. After that, numerous arts were developed for cultivation. Previous flaws were corrected. Few geniuses in history created art surpassing their predecessors. Humans were now strong enough to hold their grounds against beasts. When a beast is killed, a colorful stone can be found near its heart. It is called the Beast Core. It contains all the life essence and wild energies confined within itself. Humans found that this core can be used to strengthen their cultivation and increase their strength much faster than directly absorbing from nature. Thus, they started merciless slaughter of beasts. Such incidents soon enraged the higher bloodline noble beasts. This led to a few wars between beasts and humans. Humanity realized that such wars can threaten their very existence. They reached a peace agreement with higher beasts to stop the wars. But, still few hunters and cultivators hunt down beasts. This goes for beasts too, as they also attacked small villages and towns. Such small skirmishes never stopped throughout history.
Outer region of forest
The group didn't encounter any beast hordes in the rest of the journey. They were moving very swift and the storm also seems to calm down its wrath.
"Captain, we finally crossed the forest. Now, with our snow horse beast, it will only take us five incense worth of time to reach the village." said one of the soldiers.
"Hmmm," hummed Captain absentmindedly. He was still mulling over what just happened with him. It seems unreal to him. He is nothing but a Houtian realm expert. The legend of Wolf king is passed down from his ancestors. It was the only God beast in their entire continent. But, Christopher always treated it like a legend. He always thought, why would a God Beast be residing on a trivial mountain in a backwater country.
He looked at the baby who was still sleeping soundly without any care in this world. Complicated feelings were developing inside him, but deep down he was happy, finally, he was going to be a father.
It has already been three years since Christopher's marriage. His wife's name is Emilly Agnes. Nobody in the village knows her origin or background. Christopher brought her when he was in his youth exploring the continent. He asked permission from his parents regarding marriage, and they were more than happy that finally, their dumb child brought back a lovely lady home. They took the vow of everlasting love and got blessings from their parents and the heavens. But, their lovely life got a scar. Emily was infertile. Her uterus was damaged, unable to bear a child. She was very depressed after finding this out. Christopher made sure to stay strong at this time and deeply support his wife coz he knew the source of injury. He felt self-guilt for Emily. This news spread like fire in the forest, and soon entered the villager's ears.
Everyone in the village advised Christopher to bring a second wife, as it is quite common in this world to have more than one wife. Even Emily advised the same to Christopher for which she got a good lecture from Christopher. The couple stayed strong and supported each other throughout the year. Seeing their affection, even his parents didn't force him for another marriage.
Christopher heard about rumours of a magical medicine capable of healing every inner organ of humans appearing in an auction in the capital. For that, he decided to move to the capital. He heard that the miracle medicine was from some other country, with a high demand. He would need a fortune to purchase that miracle medicine, moreover, he would need a stroke of high luck as the medicine was very rare. He decided to join the kingdom's forces as a Knight. He would be able to save some for medicine as the pay was quite good. But, the capital is filled with wolves, who will butcher an entire family over trivial matters. Emily having a breathtaking beauty will surely attract the attention of the debauches. Reluctantly, he decided to leave Emily in the village with his parents for her safety. Occassionly, he visits his village. Today was such a day.
Blue Snow Village
As the storm lessened, the moon could be seen in the sky. As this was a snowy region in the north of the country, auroras could be seen in the sky. The sky looked just spectacular.
In the courtyard of the biggest house in the village, a woman was standing in the middle, gazing at the sky. She had blond hairs which were smoother than silk. A pair of indescribably magnificent eyes as if the entire world's essence lie within them. Her tranquil crystal clear pupils make sure anyone will sink in them if caught a glance. Her eyebrows were thin and curvy, just like crescent moon. Her lips were rosy red and looked just as delicate as petals. Her nose itself could be said to be sculpted by gods standing proud. Her face looks creamy and white as snow. Her cheeks were soft with a tinge of pink. Her skin was snow-white in colour and looked very natural. She was wearing a long light-blue skirt. Her slender legs, jade arms and well-proportioned body, everything made as if she is goddess descended from heaven. She was wearing a pendant and a wedding ring. It was as if any excess ornaments will blasphemy her beauty. Her demeanour looked elegant, with a tinge of holiness separating her from this mortal world. When the dim moonlight shines on her body, her beauty seems to bring life into everything, blossom every withering flower. Even the moon and the sky pale in comparison to her beauty. This entire scene looked as if it emerged out of a painting, but no painter could ever paint such a beauty.
"I can feel Husband is much closer to me now." said Emily softly while gazing at the sky. Shine could be seen in her crystal eyes with a sense of deep yearning.
